I voted for Obama because I am sick of the neocons not taxing and continuing to spend, no matter what state the economy is in. Nearly 80% of our debt has been created during a Republican administration. I think that if we want to pay for stuff like alternative energy, education, health care, etc... someone needs to be taxed. I am also tired of the war on terror. It's an unwinnable war. Terror can't surrender. We can't afford to keep pumping 10 billion dollars a month into nothing. You know, if we spent all the money we wasted in Iraq on us, we could give literally every American citizen a Wii, XBOX360, and a PS3. You, your mom, your sister, everybody. I also am intolerant of intolerant people. I favor gay marriage and am pro-choice. I know Obama isn't going to give me the opportunity to marry, but I feel like this right will be less interfered with in a Democratic administration. Lastly, I don't like the way McCain ran his campaign. Most people I've talked to that sided with McCain did so either because they were filthy rich or because they hated Obama as a person. Nobody should ever call into question the character of their opponent, IMO. I mean, look what they did to Meta-Kirby.

"Taxes are the priced for civilized society"

Taxes ARE going to be increased.
There is a difference between taxes that are needed and taxes that are used for politician's pet projects.

During the 1960's there used to be a tax that collected 95% of income of certain people based on their earnings in England (while the royal families of course still didnt' have to pay it) so alot of musicians and alot of rich people moved including the Rolling Stones hell even The Beatles had a song about it ("Taxman" "1 for you 19 for me"). Obviously the rich people could afford this but was it really fair? Of course you could always give extra money to the government if you feel we aren't giving enough.

Why are we giving more money to the government when they have piddled away our money and used it on things (not all of course a good amount actually run the country) that don't help us. Then we are expected to pay more so the government can spend EVEN MORE. Well great maybe if there was a little more oversight where the money goes and on programs that work then sure.

Everyone's going to disagree on where money should be spent and how much should be spent. Nobody is in favor of frivilous spending, but what constitutes frivilous? Stem cell research? Scholarships? Road construction? Social Security? Defense?

Frivilous changes according to the circumstance. For instance why spend trillions on the military if none of your people can afford healthcare and are dying anyways? Or why put money into stem cell research if you have a crappy army, and China takes over anyways. (all examples)

Someone brought this up earlier and was provided to a link where it showed he had, also giving a link to the certificate.

You're a complete and utter moron if you believe that A) He has a reason for not showing it and B) Think that the election runners wouldn't have thought "Hey, how do we know he's a born American? Should we check his birth certificate? Naaaah"

My parents still believe he was born in Iran, and so do so many other people.

I can't believe I live in this country.

I so looking forward to telling all those people that said "your unamerican you should support the Pres. if you don't like what the country is do then go some where else" the exact same thing.

@Mic your so right, people have this idea that for some reason the dems. would pick a terrorist or someone that would try to mess everything up for us. Why would they ever do that, when if he had some evil plot to take down America we could stop him with an impeachment, and it would stop the dems. from ever having a chance at winning again.

Cuz he's black :p

Seriously,

Whether his economic policies works or not, he'll at least be TRYING to find a way to improve the economy other than the trickle down dribble

His health care plan.

He's not anti war. He actually wants to find and kill Bid Laden and stop genocide in Africa. While McCain still wants to stay in Iraq when both Americans and Iraqis want out.

Joe Biden was a great choice for him. To help him because of his 'inexperince' it also shows that Obama cares that the country is in good hands. If he picked Clinton, he would have picked her to try to win the election. Why else would McCain pick a female airhead?

Bush didn't bring the country to hell.

He didn't really take it anywhere. He just kept it at a stall. I mean seriously, he hasn't really done anything in his presidency.

I didn't mean for the talk to turn into a debate, thats what the debate hall is for =P but he (when I say he I mean his administration) is the one is charge and should try to stop the economy from going to hell along with the whole war thing, ontop of oil and several others. I mean when a pizza boy is slow making your pizza do you say its his fault or the pizza boy before him? Yes it could have somthing to do with the one before but it is still his job and he should fix it.

I said his administration and thats what most people mean when they say Bush did somthing. Most people should know by now that one man can't be blamed for it all but him and the people he choose... The Bush administration.

Its not just Democrats putting a name its what people do, how often do you yourself say Hitler did something and not Hitlers people?

Actually it is his fault and also congresse's fault. He listened to the worse advice possible on earth and went through with it. ;3

Poor guy, though. I feel bad for him.

My vote for quote of the day. Most people try to tell me that everything is Bush's fault when he's done nothing for the last 8 years.

But doing nothing is better than doing crappy things. Still, Bush was not a good president.

But doing nothing while crappy things happen is just as bad, if not worse. It's a President's job to do things. I don't understand how doing nothing somehow redeems him for all the bad things that have happened the past 8 years, that's just not taking responsibility.

I think it's appropriate to say that that George Bush didn't give a ****.

Thats why he was a bad president.

He did stuff that he wanted to and that was that. Be it good or bad, it's what he felt like doing and to hell with common sense (which isn't so common anymore).

Simply apathetic.

Uhh, he did Iraq.

He cut taxes for the wealthy.

He did crappy things. He used the office for personal profit and left America in a bad way.

One sunny day in 2009, an old man approached the White House from across Pennsylvania Ave, where he’d been sitting on a park bench. He spoke to the US Marine standing guard and said, “I would like to go in and meet with President Bush.”

The Marine looked at the man and said, “Sir, Mr. Bush is no longer president and no longer resides here.”

The old man said, “Okay” and walked away.

The following day, the same man approached the White House and said to the same Marine, “I would like to go in and meet with President Bush.”

The Marine again told the man, “Sir, as I said yesterday, Mr. Bush is no longer president and no longer resides here.”

The man thanked him and, again just walked away

The third day, the same man approached the White House and spoke to the very same US Marine, saying “I would like to go in and meet with President Bush.”

The Marine, understandably agitated at this point, looked at the man and said, “Sir, this is the third day in a row you have been here asking to speak to Mr. Bush. I’ve told you already that Mr. Bush is no longer the president and no longer resides here. Don’t you understand?”

The old man looked at the Marine and said, “Oh, I understand. I just love hearing it.”

The Marine snapped to attention, saluted, and said, “See you tomorrow, Sir.”

^ Just like not thinking about not having a senseless war on Iraq, which indeed was uncalled for and unnecessary in the first place. Bush failed, and so would have McCain, sure, I may not know the future, but I can tell he had the same concepts and principles that Bush had.

LOL What are they going to do, go around claiming that the (now) California Constitution is Unconstitutional? *laughs*

Hmm... I feel for you sugar, but one question, did you really want someone in office such as the all controversial Sarah Palin?
I honestly do not mind her, but unlike a lot of people, I'm not dumb enough to think McCain would up and die that fast...
