You seemed maybe a little reckless at times, but to tell you the truth to get good you have to take risks too big when you first start out. but really, your link really isn't to shabby. I'm at work right now so I can't really analyze every little thing. but from what I saw the best advice I can give at the time being is to continue to play; just sharpen your skills. I'm not going to say do more AT's or anything, it's more learning how to create situations to impliment AT's, which you seemed to be doing fine without using that incredibly much. I would like to see you going against better players, you seemed to be a couple notches above that pikachu. Also.... go to tournaments, i say that to everyone, but it's true. you get a lot better when you get your *** handed to you. but that's just my opinion :p

Another blue Link? Man, there's too many of us.

One thing I noticed is that you don't really tend to shorthop your projectiles. Little things like that help more than you'd imagine. You take a whole lot of risks and try to go for moves that if you whiff, you're going to get punished for it. And often times you do whiff, but you're lucky because you're not being punished for them.

You're not too bad, and your movement with Link is very tight and solid, you seem very capable with him at times when at other times, you seem like you're not entirely sure what you're trying to do. Keep practicing and keep playing and you'll figure out what's what.

As Arkive always tells me: "Do work, son."

It depresses me to see how many Links are better than mine, even people who just picked up Link. Wait, IS he better than me? I haven't posted videos in a while. Hmmmmm... Maybe I should post new videos this weekend.

First half of the match had far too many instances of commiting to laggy attacks on locations at which your opponent was not located and was not going to be located.. try to pay closer attention to your opponent's character than to yourself.

Well, another blue Link, another mainer I suppose. I can't watch them now (I'm in big trouble O_o) but I'll watch em tomorrow. I'm out for the day.

Peace.

I agree with the previous posts, but I would like too add that you used your dsmash too many times, you could have used other moves to do damage and saved your dsmash for a kill blow. A lot of the times you use the dsmash you could have used a spin instead, and while you at the edges of the stage it is often the better move.
Also, you probably could have finished Pikachu off with an upthrow, but you used a backthrow instead. Also, you faired too much, Link gets in trouble when you throw the fairs in there like that, esp versus small targets that are hard to hit with a short hopped fair. Oh, and do not try and gimp Pikachu like you were, it is one thing to hit him with a move, but that is going to get you in trouble, be more conservative throw some projectiles at them instead.

Oh, and you did not really use any advanced tactics at all, so perhaps you should look at them? At the very minimum you should be using your ZAIR and Ledge hopping on the stage with a F-Air. The pikachu seemed ok, but not all that great.

I don't get how people just 'know' when they're being talked about. We were talking about Plank, and voila, Plank posts in that thread. We talk about Ninjalink, and there he is, posting in this thread. O_o psychic powers

This. Do not use Fair to gimp. Use a flying Nair or Dair.

You also do not know how to come back onto the stage as link,

Let go of the edge then shorthop back onto the stage with an Fair. If you do this correctly, you should get both swings in and it will auto cancel to give you even more options.

if you are talking about my money match, , neither, I am just ahead of time saying we will MM, and you will beat me, haha.

Diddy's are probably my hardest ( next to falco ) matchup, yet they are some of the most fun. so yeah. might be in NY around august so i'll see what I can get set up, haha.

Along with everything else someone said.
i don't think I saw a single arrow in that match.

I think your missing a couple of opportunities to rank up some damage by forgetting about that move.

Mostly Quickdrawing, which you can easily learn about through Izaw's The Art of Link video, which should be included in every guide provided you.

You've got a good Link and just like me you have opponents that aren't at your level. Attend a local competition, invite some competitors over to play friendly matches with you.
Don't play CPUs.
Play good people and don't play any single person too often, or you'll find yourself falling into a rut; you'll have habits that are extremely hard to break. Havokk handed THAT to me when he predict my rolling pattern three times in a row, and just used Ganon's freaking sideB to grab me over and over and over... Anyway, avoid playing the same people too often.

And you really just need a little more practice overall, then your Link will truly be beastly. You don't see certain opportunities when they are provided, but otherwise you play perfectly fine.

And I'm Anonano (Anon for short), and I'm a jerk who has been reminded just recently how much he likes Wolf Link.

So nice to meet you, hope to see you often on the boards!

It was at a NY tourny. remember where the weeklies were held? it was websomething i forgot =/

Thanks anon.Nice to meet you too. I really appreciate the help and the advice. And yeah unfortunatly your right =/

Out of the 7 or 8 usual people i play only 2 are at my level and one of them is a sidestep ***** -_- which is the only way he beats me...SOMETIMES! I still kick his Toon links *** anyways! I'm the best of my group which is why I'm gonna start going to tourny because I'm getting tired of beating these guys over and over. I wanna get my *** handed to me. Unfortunatly no one has ever 3 stocked me though. Not even when i fought Ninja link i manged to take out 1 stock in each of the 2 rounds in the best 2/3. I want someone to do that to me though XD
That must hurt your pride a lot XD Well yeah once I get a new job (i got fired XD) and i start getting money again ill start attending tournies. I should be getting a job by this week so yeah I'm definatly going to work on being a better Link. I'll attend more tournies =] Thanks for all the advice everyone. If you all can i would like it to continue

I knew about this already, but I never knew why. Why is fair not a good move to use offstage?
You'll more than likely miss. Go for something that has a consistent hitbox. It is way easier to hit and even if you don't, the opponent will have a harder time avoiding it and getting back onstage than avoiding your fair.

With fair, you almost have to fastfall and perfectly time it then get back on stage. Risk is too high and there are better options if your trying to gimp rather than kill them in the blast zone.
