why is melee added to the circuit if the anmc is still going on?
its not dead... were just waiting for someone to step up and host a quality melee tourney

Why do we not combine forces and work together?

Let us be honest the ANMC is not doing much at this point you can ECRC decide to add melee??

If melee will happen at APEX it could possibly effect how long it takes to finish the brawl tourny

I doubt it. I mean lets be honest most people will enter brawl and that is the main event. Also this will ONLY have MELEE Singles. It can be done and if not I have no problem NOT doing melee cause brawl is more important to the development of this community. Think the future not the past. We cannot live the world through a rear view mirror.q

Alex just with the amount of people attending this event, melee players are going to come and enter singles, and socialize and play doubles friendlies and talk to a bunch of players they havent seen in a long time.

I think your ratio of TV's is very heavily weighted to brawl, I mean cmon. 56 TV's for brawl but only 8 for Melee?

48 for brawl and 16 for melee seems a lot more realistic and fair.

there should be a cap on the amount of entries to ensure proper and timely registration. you can go there and register at the door but be warned that if the cap is reached you wont be able to enter. check in pre-regs first. then deal with who ever who didnt make it and fill that spot with the at-the-door people. throw in a 128 cap on melee and w,e on brawl. that way it easier to manage : o kiiiiits toooo goooooot. ive thought alot about strategizing large events but i dont think i will ever have the time or patience :p

im all for working together

but the ANMC is not dead. were not doing much cause there has literally been no big melee tournies since spoc 6. the only one was bullhead in CT but they didn't want to be part of the circuit. there hasnt been a single noteworthy melee since then.

I wouldn't expect many people to come to a melee tournament if you hosted it if I were you, maybe you can just like, help on the side and let Alex do all the important stuff.

For attendances sake. In all seriousness.

I'm being serious, do you really think people are going to come to a tournament hosted by you anytime soon?

Logic please.

I never said anything about holding a tourney. I just said there has been no quality melee tournies since SPOC 6 except for bullhead, so then to me it just seemed like u were trying to throw in a quick chibo joke while the opportunity was open.
though i have gotten tons of pm's and messages of people saying they still support me and that they dont want me to stop hosting tourneys and they will still go to em. though im taking a break anyway for a couple months, partially cause of cot4, partially cause i want to focus on playing and attending tourneys rather than hosting them.

Really the main reason we have added ECRC is the seperate community thing is getting somewhat annoying
I still expect large scale melee tourneys to exist for your circuit, because melee is obviously not our focus currently, but we all still love that game one way or another , but we think it could help the ECRC develop
And we miss melee kids
but we dont expect to pull huge turnouts for melee like a melee specific tourney would
who knows

Usually, I'm not one from super name dropping, but PLEASE, list EVERY single person who has supported you so I may question them personally, and verify their support. Crew doesn't count, unless it's AndyG, Vex, or Xzax.

wow rly? ok... w/e

also idk why crew doesnt count except for those 3 but anyway

ppl who have supported me by saying they will continue to come to my tourneys or ppl who have left me encouraging messages

all of tos

mattsy
corrupted mind
tantalus
deathxtouch
kaylo
king mosquito
kosa
jtails
izumi
tusm
king redhalberd

maybe its not the most well known players, but still the fact that when something bad happened to me all of these ppl specifically reached out to me, most with personalized messages, after the situation helps me realize there are still some good hearted smashers out there. bash me all u want for actually following up and posting this with whatever u may say like who are these ppl, but it wont hurt me at all.

go ahead and question them, jerk.

Dont hate because im better than you Diem.

:D

edit:

Oh and concerning Chibo, I wasn't at the tournament, so I can't be a judge of his performance hosting it. I just think people were getting rediculous with accusations and flaming.

If Chibo made mistakes, point them out and grow up. There's no need to be idiots.

Throw that P***y at me? B***h I think Im Babe Ruth
Alex even if its only melee singles they still do take a lot of time.

It takes a couple of hours to do a melee tourny at chu's biweekly. not that many ppl enter but it takes quite awhile.

It all depends on the # of T.V's present, if you could get at least 50 tv's everything would be done on time lol

We need to strongly encourage ppl to bring tv's to these events.

I dont know why people are arguing this still
melee singles is happening

And to be honest, it was my idea.
It can, and will be done, if it doesnt get done, then its on me
The staff we will have for apex will be quite nice
I mean Basically the mages + alex is plenty

but yes, we will need lots of setups
I will have a setup check in system, where players will have to check in,and check out wii's for this event.
Which should help people feel safe , bringing their wii and such.

I think gimr is doing this as well at brawl til you fall

Kadaj...Chu's BRAWL Biweeklies are quite possibly the worst examples of how long Melee tournaments take.
To keep it short:
-mad delay on startup time because Chu is nice about late people
-like...3 Melee setups >_>
-people being dumb about playing tourney matches as quickly as possible

I've got faith in these TOs though. It could definitely be done. I doubt I can make it but if I could, I'd love to help out ^_^

Back to being able to do this: the absolute safest thing to do would be to say you can only enter one or the other [Brawl teams/singles or Melee Singles] and I'm pretty sure I already saw them mention that as a possible rule.

I've tried running both events simultaneously and time becomes a huge issue when you have players [especially teams] who are running through the winners/losers bracket in BOTH games simultaneously. Also, most players won't want to go from one game immediately to the other, esp when they have a winning streak.

Just my experience with it...

In the end, the TOs do as much as they can to encourage people but it falls on the community to provide enough dedicated setups for each game in order for this to function well. [Don't forget powerstrips, either >_>]

There were PLENTY of reasons to be idiots.
I wasn't there so I can't say Chibo didn't **** up, but it just sounds like people are taking it to far.

If you think Chibo sucks, don't attend his tourneys anymore. But I think kicking a man while he's down at this point is just a ***** move.

You weren't there, therefore you can't accurately judge how far people are taking it. You have NO idea what went on throughout those two days.

Regardless there's a difference between criticising someone who ****ed up badly and just being mean.

Chibo knows he ****ed up. The whole **** community knows he ****ed up. It only needs to be taken so far.

And everyone I talked to loved it lol.

Many people including myself are in the stage of constant criticism, it's not being mean. Obviously Chibo knows he ****ed up, it would be ridiculous if he didn't.

Everyone loved the tournament because of the amount of people that were there and WHO was there. Many people were calling it the best smashfest they've been to.

That's cool, just some people are gettin a lil crazy with it lol. Considering everyone who was there it seems like the LAPD etc could only make it more epic. Most likely, hate or love it, nobody will forget it lol.
