Well that was a fine direct. I was a bit disappointed that there were no surprises and we were expecting everything that cropped up

but then the BOTW sequel changed everything for me. That skyrocketed the direct right at the end.

But overall, the Smash DLC trailers were very well done and I also love the references within Banjo's trailer.

On the topic of Pokemon, It's gonna be weird going back to single screen Pokemon after having a bottom screen for the past 12 years.

Just finished watching the direct. First, wow, they actually did a character reveal at the beginning, and the end. Well, not the EXACT end, but pretty close! The Hero (I imagine this is a temporary name or its going to be very awkward) and Banjo both got in, and they both look pretty unique, can't wait to see how they play. Plus Banjo's trailer was a huge callback to K.Rool's, and they some how made one of my favorite reveal trailers for the series even better?? The Animal Crossing and Luigi's Mansion 3 info was great, and the BoTW sequel announcement came out of NOWHERE, which looks pretty hype, even if we know very little about it.

... Besides those moments, though, nothing else really jumped out at me. I know there was some great stuff for fans of the properties, but I was hoping for something a little more. Oh well. The highs of the Direct were certainly high, and the lows of the direct were... well, not low, but middle of the road, I'd say. Not a bad year at all, though.
