Now that this thread is up an running, I really like it.

5 stars + subscribe.

Awesome job Zook.

EDIT: Hey, you know, I might actually enter one of these days. Would general photography fall under "other"? (Though I have no idea how I'd take a picture of "Zelda.")

Yup, Other!

And why would Sheik be in Zelda's Week? Does the title say Sheik/Zelda? Are they both the same character? Do they look the same?

Sheik will be a different week.

*Sends Sundance _______________ on __________ Day,
Should've seen this thread earlier. ;__; Zelda is one of my favorite characters, so I'll enter. I don't know if I'll be able to whip up something good before January 5th... So here's an older drawing of mine:

Alright here's a better version (used my camera instead). And thanks Spire :)
Yours is a winner for sure. It's extremely detailed, with meticulous detail pertaining to coloring and lighting.

Two best in each catagory, in my opinion

Where people get NOTHING.
You can enter the contest anytime right? I only want to draw some of the characters XD

Um so here is my Zelda entry for the hand drawn section ^^

It was done on my sketch pad in pencil.

That smudge like mark on the bottom of her left wrist isn't on the actual drawing. It must of been from the scanner :/

I couldn't get it dark enough either. :( Hopefully you guys can see it x_x

The size and shape of the shoulder ornaments is intentional btw.
The TP ones are too big XD

[Pic] (trying not to overload the thread)

Looks good, but I would say that the forward hand (her right) is bent in an unnatural position in relation to the elbow. Other than that, it has solid detail and lighting. I'm probably nitpicking, but the back arm is bent a little too far behind the back as well.

I would just like to point out that this thread is very bad at judging art. The fact that matt4300 was the overall winner in the last competition is a travesty on so many levels. For starters, that might have been "hand drawn" but it was definitely colored on a computer, making it digital. Secondly, there is no real originality behind his piece, it was simply just another picture of Yoshi.

Spire III's work on the other hand was a lot more thought out and interesting. It was an original interpretation of the character, on top of it being a more developed image. There is a lot more skill going on with rendering of light because his version of Yoshi wasn't as rounded. Overall, there was no contest between the two images.

The first round was purely a test round.

And this is why I added the creativity category: I realized that if pictures like matt's (no offense) kept on winning, there would be no real contest; rather, it would be simply a 'recreate-this-image' contest. Personally, I prefer seeing imaginitive peices of art, rather than amazingly accurate copies of characters.

I was thinking about adding a judging team, but ultimately decided against it. Why? I wanted the judges to be everyone. Besides, if I was a judge, I couldn't participate.

Did you even vote last round, Mookie? You have a say in who wins, too. Tell your forum friends to vote if you feel everyone is wrong.

I'm diggin' this man. Looks like a genuine Flash cartoon could be made in lieu of this, actually.

(Oh, and Yagami, you're drawing looks much better enlarged -- glad you got an updated image of it up).

So... I've got the layout of my drawing done. Assuming things go to plan, and it comes out the way I envision, you guys are definately going to love my drawing! Can't wait to bring it closer to a finishing point. I'll pick-up work on it tonight. :D

...?

Why is my entry put into digital? I used ink and then scanned it. There's nothing even remotely digital about it..

Another entry for HANDDRAWN:

It's Zelda dressed up like Yoko. The idea seemed funny to me, so I drew it in about 10 minutes.. Then decided I might as well put it here.
