So, yeah. A tournament! Hosted by myself and Blind. This tournament will feature BRAWL, BRAWL+, and BRAWL- !!
Keep in mind, details are still being figured out and certain areas are subject to change. We will keep you updated, so no worries.
The Venue
Nickel City
555 Waukegan Rd.
Northbrook, IL 60062
PHONE: 1-847-559-8727
WEBSITE: http://www.nickelcitygames.com/
Nickel City is an arcade where you can play many games for just 5 cents. Some of the games you can even play for free. We have space reserved in their party room in back, so that's where the tournament will be happening.
NOTE: There is NO outside food or drink allowed inside the facility. Also note that Nickel City does have food available for purchase.
Schedule
6:00pm - Venue opens for the tournament. Arrivals, Registration, and Friendlies may occur at this time.
7:00pm - Brawl Doubles Bracket starts.
7:30pm - Brawl+ Singles Bracket starts.
9:00pm - Brawl Singles Bracket starts(or whenever Brawl Doubles Bracket finishes).
10:00pm - Brawl- Singles Bracket starts(or whenever Brawl+ Singles Bracket finishes).
1:00am - Venue closes.
This is a TENTATIVE schedule. Subject to change, but this is just the basic outline.
Registration will begin for all events at 6:00pm. Registration will close 10 minutes before the start of an event.
NOTE: We will not be including Melee in our event roster. This is because there is the SMYM tournament in Champaign, IL on the same day, so we would be expecting a low Melee turnout. However, we are interested in including Melee in our event roster for future events.
Entry Fees
Venue Fee: $5 --- This covers the cost of the room AND gets you access to play all of the arcade games available throughout the venue. If things go well, this may have a chance of being reduced for future events... *hinthint*
Brawl Doubles - $5 per person($10 per team)
Brawl Singles - $10
Brawl+ Singles - $5
Brawl- Singles - $2
Because this is our first tournament, we are keeping the entry fees relatively low. If there is enough interest, we can raise the entry fees.
Setups
We NEED setups! If you bring a full setup(TV and a Wii) your venue fee will be waived. If you bring a partial setup(TV or a Wii) your venue fee will be reduced to $3.

Tournament Rules
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
* 3 Stock
* 8 minute timer
* Items are set to "off" and "none"
* All sets with the exception of winner's finals, loser's finals, and the championship are best of 3 matches (best of 5 and above should be played out for any "finals" matches)
* In the event of a dispute, controller ports will be selected by Rock-Paper-Scissors
* No player may choose a stage they have already won on in that set unless agreed upon by both players.
* In team matches, the ports will be determined in a 1221 fashion; whoever wins the RPS will choose first, then the opposing team will get their ports, and then the teammate of the RPS winner will get the last port.
* If the timer runs out, the victor is determined first by stock and then by percentage.
* Metaknight's Infinite Cape glitch is banned.
* If a game ends with Bowser doing his suicide klaw and it ends in sudden death, the sudden death will be ignored and that game will count as a win for Bowser.
* You are responsible for your own controller and name tag. Any malfunctions or errors that occur are your responsibility, so bring an extra controller if possible and always check to make sure you're using the correct settings BEFORE a match is played. If a match is to be restarted due to controller functions, it must be agreed upon by both parties.
* Any action that can prevent the game from continuing (i.e., freezing, disappearing characters, game reset, etc.) will result in a forfeit of that match for the player that initiated the action. You are responsible for knowing your own character, and must be wary about accidentally triggering one of these effects.
* Stalling is banned.
* The Mages DQ rule: After a match has been called, if a player is two minutes late he will receive a warning. At 4 minutes late, he will be given a loss for the first game of the set. After six minutes, he will be given a loss of the entire set.
Additional Rules for Doubles Play

* Set team attack to ON
Set format (In Order of Procedure):
