Hey man, he (or I guess she) didn't hire a defense squad team.
It's just stupid to buy a console without being interested in ANY of its games, that's all.
And by the way, it's not like the WiiU doesn't have a big range of different games. I mean if you don't like platform, adventure, action, survival horror, shooters ecc why do you even buy a gaming console really?
It's like if I subscribe to HBO without being interested in any of its shows and then complain about it. It's stupid and that's it.
Then she turned around and said she was expecting other games to come out, but at first she sounded pretty annoying to be honest, like "All this ****ty games I don't like how can you like it this system is such a drag.".
Jehovah's witnesses LOL... I couldn't care less about it to be honest.
How is it stupid? It's her money , she can do what she wants.

She said Mario was a drag, that's her opinion, man; not everyone likes playing Mario. Not to mention this is like the 5th "New" Super Mario Bros., I can get why it would be a drag, but I can see why people can enjoy it. To each their own.

People need to accept that conflicting opinions aren't targeting anyone, and that there is no need to persuade someone if their mind is made up.

Personally, I'm not getting a Wii until I know smash is coming out. The Wii U games seem kinda cool, but I'm at a point in my life where I don't game that much so having a system there with a few quality games to play when the mood strikes is right up my alley. You can call me foolish, but gaming is an expensive and time consuming hobby. Instead of buying games I could be buying clothes, toiletries or anything that I genuinely need, but I love smash, so I'll drop a stack for it if I have too. I see gamers who neglect themselves all the time due to the expense, and it's embarrassing to see a 20+ year old man with dad jeans, a chained wallet, unkept hair and wears a t-shirt and hoodie he got out of his hamper. Gross.

I'm buying my Wii U for smash. Everything else can wait until I have the time and money available.

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang the amount of butthurt people are shwoing towards people who don't like most of the games currently out on the Wii-U is pure gold.

Anywas, my dad has a Wii-U so I can use that to play games on it.

The only game I am remotely interested in, that is currently out, is Pikmin 3. And even there, it isn't that big of an interest. However I do want games that have yet to come out, FE X SMT, X, and Smash being the most notable.

It's just stupid to buy a console without being interested in ANY of its games, that's all.
No. It's just stupid to say buying something is stupid when it isn't your money they are using to buy it.

Besides she's already said she is interested in games that are going to be coming out eventually, that more then enough reason to buy a console early for a lot of people.

I bought the Zelda Wii U bundle back when that came out since it matches my Zelda OoT 3DS. Haven't really used it much but Wind Waker HD was fantastic (the game has aged unbelievably well and all the minor tweaks make a huge difference) and there's enough interesting games out there and coming up that it should see a lot of play even without Smash.

Got the Wii U at launch and still happy I did. I'll admit the game releases are a little slow and in somewhat large gaps but now I've got a pretty big smorgasbord of games (including digital games/content). Of course Smash 4 and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze will help my system a lot (and maybe Hyrule Warriors).

Lol I can totally relate to this since I see it all the time in my gaming social circle.

I got my Wii U ready for Rayman Legends. The Day after it was dispatched it was revealed that the game was getting delayed for Wii U.... Kinda a bad start to the console generation.

I do like the system though, it took a while, but it hit the 'worth it' stage at 3DW. Lost Worlds (after the patch), LEGO City, Pikmin 3, Rayman Legends (when we finally got it), Wii Party U, NES Remix, MH3U, Wii Fit U (the meter is so useful) and even Rabbids Party (I always liked the mini-games, it just needed something to tie it together with friends) are all great. W101, Nintendoland, NSMBU, LEGO marvel, Game and Wario, and WWHD (unless you've not played original windwaker in which case it's a must) are all good games worth getting too. ALSO as someone with Japanese friends the Karaoke game is fantatic, if you don't skip it, but if you do it's a godsend having JPN songs on the list.

Oh, and if we eve get it in the west Dragon Quest X, that game's pretty great from what little I've played of it.

Ulimately though the system is all about the upcoming games. Kart, Smash, DKCTF, Sonic Boom, Inevitable Mario Party, Hopeful Itadaki Street, X, Hyrule Warriors, Child of Light, Knite and the Fairy Lights, A Hat in Time, Soul Saga, Mighty No 9, Shantae, Churbles, Lobodestroyo, Starwhal and Wooden Sen'sey all sit on my list of future games I want/have already pledged enough for... it is sad though that so many of the Indie games are going to 3DS so I'll buy them there instead... but ya know, still lots of great looking games.

I have a Wii U already. I don't play it as much as my Wii or 3DS, however. I'm pretty hyped for some games.

Got a Wii U. 3D World was nice and MH3U was a timesink for a while. Also it has great indie games, I've probably played more of those than any of Nintendo's games.
Other than that though it hasn't been all that great use for my Wii U so far but Smash is soooooon and Tropical Freeze is later this week which will be incredible. Not lamenting the fact I have a Wii U at all but it's just if I could do it again I'd have waited until basically now to get one and get a bundled one.

Once Smash hits though...like most of you that will be 1000s of hours and instant #1 on most played.

I'm waiting for Smash Bros. to get my Wii U. I hope Nintendo releases a bundle, and the same goes for the 3DS, especially if it's a customized Smash-themed console. I'll buy both the 3DS and Wii U whenever Sm4sh is released.

I've had mine since launch day. While I do enjoy it, I haven't been playing it much. Been playing the good ol' GameCube a lot instead. :p

But that'll change when Tropical Freeze comes.

Yes, I picked up one the day after Christmas. So far I haven't bought any games though besides the Mario and Luigi games it came with. I'm mainly interested in Smash 4.

I got mine for one game only: Pikmin 3. The Wind Waker price drop was a nice incentive.

Wind Waker HD, the two Mario multiplayer games, and NintendoLand were all nice bonuses, but Pikmin is my f'ing jam, and it did not disappoint.

Oh yeah, and the fireplace game is hilarious :chuckle:

I have one, It's fun, I only have MH3U and NintendoLand for it though, but I'm saving up for a few games. I connect my gamepad to the PC and use it to play PC games sometime.

I purchased my Wii U in September last year, a few days after the release of the Wind Waker HD bundle (of which, is the one I own). This has broken my history of getting consoles with a Smash Bros. title, having previously been given a GameCube with Super Smash Bros. Melee, and a Wii with Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Ah, well. </3

I got one for Christmas when it came out. I also have two young kids (7 and 6 right now) So they love all of the games we've gotten for it. I mainly bought it for them, but I also bought it for Smash, MK8, and Zelda U (And WWHD was a bonus!). I am, however, looking forward to DKC:TF, Hyrule Warriors and Sonic Boom.

The system has definitely not dissappointed. It may have been a little slow to start, but it has a great line up and I'm hoping for a good classic RPG like Kingdom Hearts or even a Harvest Moon game. That would be cake!

Only really had enough money for one Wii u game since I got it, and I blew it on sonic lost world(it wasn't too great). I am very disappointed with my pick because the Mario game looks ****ING AMAZING.

Tropical freeze looks promising, should get that, and obviously smash bros.

I talked to someone I might possibly be rooming with in the future and once Smash comes out, we'll split the costs on a Wii U and buy that and Kart 8.

I bought mine little over a year ago. Mostly for Smash but I have a couple games for it now. I use it mostly for parties and watching youtube. I usually have people over more than once a week and so games like Nintendo Land, SMB3DL, Pikimin 3, and such are great games to play with friends.

And I have a Japanese 3DS as well. I plan on buying the game for both systems.

I got the NSMBU Wii U bundle in November - it was just before Super Mario 3D World came out, but the price was good, and I figured that the system had enough good games (based on what was out at the time and what would be coming out in the future) to justify getting one.

Honestly, Pikmin 3 and Super Mario 3D World were worth the price on their own - really looking forward to DKC Tropical Freeze, X, and Bayonetta 2. (and Smash Bros., obviously)

I got mine just before 2013's new year. Played NSMBU and Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed for a while, then it gathered dust, eventually got some Virtual Console, gathered dust soon enough, the games that made me start playing it much more are Sonic Lost World and SM3DW. Of course I did buy it mainly for Smash tho.

I tend to get most consoles later on, if at all. The Wii-U is no different. It does have some good games to offer, more so than PS4 and XBO, but it's been out longer. I just don't like getting these things as soon as they come up. I'd rather wait for a decent amount of content to hit the system before I'd get it. That's my two cents.

I bought mine when the black one launched. Like PikaJew, I wouldn't have played games that I have been playing on it, if Smash had came out. But Wonderful 101 and Luigi U have been some great games. I think smash will become that staple game for most to get a WiiU, but this generation of Gaming I'll be buying the most WiiU games that I ever have, so who know's how it'll go.

Btw it's cool to see the wiiu actually get some love. All I hear is PS4 or Xbox 1 all day -.-

I got mine in the fall--embarrassingly enough, for Sanic Lost World. Wonderful 101 and Mario 3D World followed, and those two were the better games. Sonic Lost World isn't bad so much as all over the place and I don't have as much fun replaying it.

SSB will be had for Wii U first and foremost.

Gotta help ninty in their time of need!

Had mine since launch. Only games I have for it are VC games, New Super Bros U, and Super Mario 3d world. Getting DK tropical freeze on launch day. It's a good system but really needs more games.

If you're lacking games may I recommend Pikmin 3 and Wonderful 101? They're really solid games.

I could never get into Pikimin for some reason. I tried the demo for Wonderful 101 and the characters were hard to see on my flatscreen. They were too small and the game seemed too chaotic for me lol.

Yeah, different strokes I guess. At least get WW HD if you haven't yet, since it's a nice remake (along with being a great game in general), and also pick Earthbound up on the VC if it interests you.
