You could probably just get Smash 4, Mario Kart, and SM3DW and that'd be good enough. The thing is less than $200 for the 8GB so you'd run up less than $400 when it's all said and done.Don't have one and, frankly, SSB4 is going to have to REALLY impress me to convince me to get one.

That depends how much he's willing to pay for Smash, and how adamantly opposed to MK he is. It'd run him a little over $200 just to have Smash. What if he just wants smash?
Yeah. I mean I wouldn't mind getting MK, but games are so expensive these days. However, that 8 gb for 200 sounds good. You got yours on EBay, right? Could I just use external/flash memory or an SD card to make up for the lack of space? That depends how much he's willing to pay for Smash, and how adamantly opposed to MK he is. I plan to wait for potential price drops and for some feedback about SSB4 to ensure it's not a buggy, unbalanced mess like Brawl was.You could probably just get Smash 4, Mario Kart, and SM3DW and that'd be good enough. I got an 8 gig at launch and an external hard drive for extra memory. The External Harddrive I have can hold up to 90 games if I ever decided to download full retail games.Yeah. Yeah you can use an external flash drive or SD card. I actually have Sony's 16GB sdhc for my 3DS and it was only about $10 on amazon. And really you won't need much data if you're not downloading games on the eshop (which I don't recommend because they always cost more and are bound to hardware).Yeah. I don't remember Brawl being that buggy, but Wii U isn't getting a price drop this year and I don't think ebay is really going to go down too much further.I plan to wait for potential price drops and for some feedback about SSB4 to ensure it's not a buggy, unbalanced mess like Brawl was.
Also, hoping for a 1v1 online random game mode.
Hmmmmm i love MK but i hear what your saying...plus i knew they would bring bikes back......(-_-) im not sure if i will get it...might trade in MK7 for it if anything...ugh...bikes killed Mario ''Kart''Got mine a while back, and it was certainly worth it. Hell, even just Pikmin 3 by itself was worth it, and I normally would never call a single game that good, but I would have gotten a Wii U solely for P3 in hindsight (and it was my first Pikmin game as well). Super Mario 3D World is the best Mario I've played since Sunshine, but then I missed out on the apparently amazing Galaxy games. Wind Waker HD was also good for me since I never played the original, and frankly I'm glad I skipped it the first time (Wind Waker is an amazing game, but I would have pulled my hair out without the HD exclusive swift sail). And for third party games, Rayman Legends is a definitive Wii U experience, despite being made multiplatform, it was originally designed and intended to be exclusive and this version is the best.
It's funny how vastly different opinions can be regarding a general subject, I thought Pikmin 3 was amazing and Tropical Freeze is one of the only games I'm looking forward to right now. But for me, Mario Kart is the boring game that I have no interest in whatsoever.
Don't the bikes get nerfed in MK8? I don't remember seeing any of the auto-wheelie speed boosts or inside drifting.Hmmmmm i love MK but i hear what your saying...plus i knew they would bring bikes back......(-_-) im not sure if i will get it...might trade in MK7 for it if anything...ugh...bikes killed Mario ''Kart''
Typical hater comment, bikes were great for Mario Kart, those inside-drift bikes drive SO SMOOTH~Hmmmmm i love MK but i hear what your saying...plus i knew they would bring bikes back......(-_-) im not sure if i will get it...might trade in MK7 for it if anything...ugh...bikes killed Mario ''Kart''
Yeah, bikes make everything better.Typical hater comment, bikes were great for Mario Kart, those inside-drift bikes drive SO SMOOTH~
Wonderful 101Yeah, bikes make everything better.
(On-topic): Besides 3D World and WW:HD, what other Wii U games are worth buying?
This describes my situation pretty well. The Wii U's support right now is very comparable to the Vita's, and my Vita has been collecting dust for a year, so I'm not going to jump in with a new console so readily. I'm waiting to see if SSB4 interests me enough to invest in a new console. If it doesn't, I'll just buy the 3DS version and leave it at that. I've saved up a pocket fund for the system, though. I'm ready to pounce as soon as I'm sold on the game. I'll probably pick up DKCTF to go with it if/when that time comes, since after Brawl, DKCR was my favorite Wii game.I plan on getting mine as late as humanly possible.
Because one New Super Mario Bros. was enough for me (and that was the original on the DS).Wonderful 101
Pikmin 3
Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze
Nintendo Land
Sonic Lost World
NSMBU/NSLU
Also...what's with the hate towards New Super Mario Bros. U? It's great!
I just, last night, made a list going through the games I've played and want for the system, for a friend who just got his, giving them extremely biased ratings out of 10, so hopefully it helps:(On-topic): Besides 3D World and WW:HD, what other Wii U games are worth buying?
He's not a hater, he is right. Bikes made carts virtually useless. With having the ability to boost on their own while simultaneously retaining the the abilities of a normal kart made them too good. Not to mention that they're kind of lame in my opinion.Typical hater comment, bikes were great for Mario Kart, those inside-drift bikes drive SO SMOOTH~
