So, with my PS3, I am finally seeing a graphical representation of games I have not completed (trophies). Because of this representation, I am now mentally forced to play and 100% every game I own.

This change is new because I normally play a game until the middle or near end and just lose interest because something new would come out.

Any one else do this and do you ever go back to your uncompleted games?

I usually try to get to the end of any game I have, except for a select few I got stuck in or didn't like, but only about two-thirds of my games have I beaten in the 90-100% range. Most of the things I haven't done 100% on are, for example, finding all the hidden blocks in the Paper Mario series, getting every single bonus area and letter in Donkey Kong Country or finding all the hidden items/all the pokemon in . . . . pokemon since for the most part, in particular with the former two, it's mostly about bragging rights.

lol I have never felt the urge to play anything because the silly little trophy or rewards system. Maybe I should pay attention to it more and see if it changes my outlook on things.

I personally think that trophies/achievements are a waste of time, so... yeah. Once I see the credits roll, I'm usually happy.

I thought this was just about finishing games and not being an achievement/trophy ***** for them.

I don't even finish a game if I'm not interested in it. One notable game I haven't finished is Spirit Tracks. I got stuck on the part before the 4th dungeon where you have to get the key to it from some other trains or some **** and I just wasn't interested enough in the game to finish it. Resident Evil 4 is a phenomenal game that I absolutely love but I've never finished it because my liking of the game went down significantly after I got to the island. idk what it is but something about a generic looking military complex really turns me off to the game. It was a similar thing with MGS3 and the fortress - once I got there I missed the jungle levels a lot (I beat MGS3 though). I rent games a lot and rarely finish them unless it happens to be short.

I almost never try to go for achievements in a game. It's just a distraction that I honestly could care less about. The only times I do care about achievements is if there's something in-game connected to them, like how Brawl had challenges to unlock music of FFXIII had the PS3 backgrounds. FFXIII is the only game I decided to try to get 100% of all trophies in. I eventually stopped because I realized that I'd have to upgrade Snow's weapons and I've been totally neglecting him because I hate him as a character. There's also the Gigantaur Ceith stone mission which can basically only be 5 starred by having Random: Instant Chain on all your characters and getting lucky.

Achievements are more trouble than they're worth. Unless you really love a game there's no point ni going for them all since you don't usually get anything tangible for them.

I generally try to finish games, unless I'm exceptionally deterred by it. I find achievements and trophies unnecessary, so I don't even try to get those. Unless they're really weird.

CK has mocked my trophy collection.

I always always ALWAYS finish games.

Unless of course some unforeseen circumstance renders me unable to do so.

Give it a try.

Before PS3 had trophies, I thought achievements were stupid. I hated (still do) collection and timed stuff, so I rarely did that in games. Steam got achievements, and I rebeat games to get them all. When trophies came out, I started inFamous with notion of ignoring them. Once I beat it and had most trophies, I replayed it and went for the platinum. I never replay games especially for another ending, but I did and it triggered my OCD. Seeing a 100% really felt satisfying. Now, I get my money's worth with a game by playing it a lot more than I normally would.

An administrator double-posting (albeit unintentionally). Ironic! Yeah, sorry for off-topic nitpicking. :)

I rent games fairly often, and typically I try to get as many achievements for them as I can within the allotted time. That's about all I can say.

Complete any games that I can get 100% complete, I do, otherwise...not usually. Many times, I get every item, every achievement, completely finish games that I can. But if I can't, I do as much as possible. Like Paper Mario: TTYD, I do the Troubles and the Pit of 100 Trials. Metroid games, I get every single item. Xbox games, most achievements. But if I know I can't get something, I'll stop trying...

I finished nearly all of my PSOne games, due to the fact I had so few games. With the PS2 I have like 80 games, so naturally I never had the time to finish a lot of them to the credits, let alone 100%. That being said, there were games I play/ed religiously, *cough*Timesplitters*cough* that I never finished fully, despite the time I spent on them, and how good I was at them.

I have been trying to finish all my PS3 games though, and trying to platinum, or get a good amount of trophies on them, I have 2 platinums up to now, because I'm that pro XD.

However Bayonetta and Metal Gear Online have been taking up most of my gaming needs recently.

I usually just beat the game. When I beat a game, there's usually another game coming around the corner that prevents me from getting 100% completion. But sometimes I come back to a game so I can 100% it when there's a drought of games I want.

I never really fully finish my games.

Every Final Fantasy game I own is incomplete.

I've beaten the final bosses, but the side quests are so ultimately tedious and boring. I can properly say that no game I have is one that is 100% complete, because I always miss things in them. Brawl is incomplete, FF games are incomplete, Pokemon games are incomplete, and any other one I have.
I just never have the motivation to complete them fully; I just enjoy them for what they are and what they have, except for the side quests.

I have a few games 100% complete (not including stupidly easy games to fully complete) :

Melee, first M&L SuperStar Saga, NMH, I think another one on the N64 I dont remember.

Others I beat the main gameplay line almost 100% of the time if you can beat it.

I ALWAYS finish my games. The one game I can't finish is Silent Hill 4 because the graphics got borked and I can't see anything.

I almost always beat the game for completion of the storyline unless something interferes.

I only tend to 100% games when I really want to keep playing the game, when I want to challenge myself, and/or when a game is getting a sequel and I want to beat the old game first.

I couldn't stop playing TWEWY even once I beat the storyline, so I 100% completed it. I wanted to "catch 'em all" in Pokémon Diamond, so I got all of the Pokémon (that's technically not 100% completion, but I don't give a crap about the silly contests and whatnot). When I anticipated Brawl's release (granted, about a year before it was released, thank you delays), I went back and completed both Melee and Brawl 100%.

According to the completion list I made up, I've 100% completed 38 of my approximately 250 games, though not all of them can be completed at all (like most of my Atari 2600 games).

I don't think I've ever 100% completed a game. Most of the time I'll beat the final boss and everything, but there's always something I don't feel like doing after that. I might try to 100% Uncharted 2 once I get my Wi-Fi back this summer.

I've mostly tried at every game with the hopes of completing it 100% but it's those games with miss-able objectives/items that always bug me. Nothing's worse than spending countless hours devoted to total completion but overlooking making a small detour to grab an item on the ground.

Out of this world......
When i was younger i usually played games until i unlocked every "rewarding" feature such as new levels mini games and maybe hidden items. I'd usually stop when i gotten something new. Some games i got stuck in the middle ( Donkey Kong jungle beat) and some i just kept playing the game over and over without unlocking anything!( SSB).

But now with the trophies it gives a bit of a push to find these different collectibles,(Fallout 3, GoW,Halo)
I always try to get 100% in every Mario game. >.> I had like 99 lives by the second world in The New super mario bros: wii Just trying to get stars.

Talking about games i never completed it makes want to get my old games and play the mess out of them.

I don't see why anyone would play a bad game jsut for virtual points that mean nothing though...
