What has Activision done that makes them comparable to Disney though?

I THINK this is all something to do with the rumor of the Crash Bandicoot cartoon that fell through due to Activision and Amazon not working well together?

Isn’t Activision owned by EA? They’re kinda scummy by proxy. And if they make COD and Star Wars Battlefront, theres not enough text to describe how much they’re like disney.

The person who posted the original deleted their account and from what I can gather from the comments, There is no proof that the Show was actually cancelled just worked on at some point and he was overly hostile. There are also some claims that sound like complete bull (According the to the remaining Reddit comments) apparently the op said that Activision wanted Mario in it and that Amazon cancelled it because of a single joke, Which is not how animation or production works. The dates on a few of the original Google Drive link were all April 1st, So take this with a grain of salt.

There definitely seems to be a decent amount of reuse for the DLC trailers. I don’t mind it tbh.

The Final Battle trailer could fit well for Dante since he’s a powerhouse. They could have a Dante/Bayonetta teamup for maximum fan service hours.

Yeah there’s some misinfo going on here.

Overall Activision has been pretty forward thinking as of late. Giving creative freedom to both Toys for Bob and Vicarious with single player games. They’ve nailed a pretty good Battle Royale without being overly greedy with Warzone. They picked up Sekiro from FromSoft with no Microtransactions. The worst Activision has done lately was with Crash Team Racing and the botched state Pro Skater 5 was in. And both of those have either been fixed, in terms of CTR, or been amended, in terms of Pro Skater 1 + 2 Remake.

Now Blizzard? The other half to Activision-Blizzard? Yeah, that’s a little different.

Steve and Sephiroth already filled this pass's hype quota, he'd be too simple for-I mean something about trying to include Mario in some Crash cartoon.

Sephiroth feels like one where SE likely pushed for it, with Nintendo realizing he would do good sales numbers, and Sakurai seeing enough value in him (either as a concept or with his moveset) that he obviously didn't object to it.

Basically he was someone that made sense and was probably the path of least resistance for all involved.

for sakurai sephiroth is a character he personally loves. the trailer for sepiroth proves this. the entire trailer is the last ten minutes of advent children.
no sane person would object to sepiroth. he's a massive character with a theme song more well known than characters people advocate for here.

Also I doubt the Crash Cartoon Cancellation reasoning is even a legit thing. Crash himself appeared in Skylanders Academy and that was being made by Netflix.

Activision is a pretty flexible company. One way better than what they were in the PS3/360 Era. And even then they weren’t comparable to even someone like Capcom who locked already complete DLC on the disc.

If Amazon and Activision had a legit problem with that Cartoon it was more than likely on Amazon’s side.

Bingo. It’s not a straight up disconfirmation but it lines up well with other things heard about Activision.

Even then the negative publicity around them is surrounded by misinformation, sinophobia and what I would describe as "wanting to hate the company for a trivial reason so you wait for a controversy and latch on to that and pretend you are hating them for that"

Note: what they did in 2019 was terrible but it was blown way out of proportion.

It kind of sounds like Activision really wanted to crossover Crash Bandicoot with Mario in the cartoon.

Wouldn't be the first time it "Sorta" happened.

While the fallout of the cartoon could go both ways, But if anything it really shows Activision is trying to market and push the Crash Bandicoot franchise and if not through a cartoon then hopefully they can have Crash meet Mario through another avenue, Perhaps Smash?

Precisely. Square wanted him, Nintendo saw value in him, and Sakurai was fond of him; a natural choice for a spot in the fighter's pass in that regard.

Actually, the reason it got attention is that it could potentially lead into Chun-Li or a Tales rep being added. A popular theory is that FP2 consists entirely or partially of characters who were planned but didn't make it. ARMS would've gotten a fighter had it come sooner, we know Steve's been in development since around the SSBU base game planning, and Sephiroth is rumored to have been the result of dealing for Cloud for Wii U, 3DS, and Ultimate. Plus, it's just pragmatic to tie up loose end with some extra deals floating around.

Of course, nothing says they need to come back, and even if it's true the rumor could ultimately lead to nowhere.

Well Chun-li would help broaden Street Fighter's music selection out of "Street Fighter 2 purist" mode.

Sakurai's theme, Juri's theme, Skies of Honor there's a bunch of them.

Ryu is a guest character in Dead or Alive, not the other way around, so a Ninja Gaiden centric Spirit Event wouldn't really have anything to do with Dead or Alive.

Is Ryu a guest character though? I thought NG and DoA take place in the same universe. The same way Street Fighter and Final Fight do.

How would you feel (as in your personal opinions) if these were the Final 3 characters?

It's my prediction list, and Since I know the characters on this list aren't really considered to be the Front runners of the pass, and the Former Two are considered to be almost impossible at times, I thought the opinions would be interesting, especially if for some reason this did turn out to be the pass?

I would feel somewhat okay because Elma and Shadow are cool but Scorpion is one of my least wanted for Smash.

Um...yes?

Honestly situations like that are just weird. I guess if Dead or Alive couldn't really be seen as a spin off of Ninja Gaiden due to its events being almost completely unrelated, then I'd say he's a guest character, but if it the two series could be considered to be a part of a larger franchise, then probably not.

EDIT: I'd say Street Fighter is definitely the latter situation since Final Fight pretty much only exists through it at this point, though I wouldn't make such a claim with the Strider Hiryu or Mega Man series even if it's stated that they're canon because the former hasn't yet been abandoned and thrown to Street Fighter for continued existence quite yet, and the latter is still going albeit at a much slower pace than it used to.

Don't know much about Star Fox, but a magic-wielding spear/staff fight could be interesting. Star Fox doesn't seem to have much incentive for Nintendo to promote it, but what gaps could Krystal fill in if she was added.

Confusion more than anything. I can`t think of a single reason she would be added. I get that some fans want her, but I just don`t get why. Doesn't she come from the most maligned Star Fox game? Why do we need a 4th Star Fox character anyways? Isn't the Star Fox series pretty much stagnant at this point?

To be fair, even though she'd be the 4th Star Fox character, she'd be the 2nd fully unique one. Yes, I know people like to say Wolf is too unique to even be a semiclone, but his specials are clearly based off Fox's, and he got into Brawl late into its development because he could reuse Fox assets.

Scorpion makes little sense when Mortal Kombat might as well not exist in Japan and is past its heyday in the West, Shadow is questionable when Sega has other series to go to and as an assist trophy upgrade (why would Nintendo go to the effort when they can just add other characters), and Elma had her chance in Smash 4 (she should've gotten in as the Nintendo promo rep over Corrin imo)

Okay.

Rex & Pyra have been a long time coming, and I'd be happy for their fans despite my not liking Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Crash is a former icon of the console wars seeing a large resurgence, and Dr. Eggman would be a neat Sonic addition (though I'd question why they didn't go with a Puyo Puyo, Yakuza, or SMT character instead).

Weird and somewhat disappinted. I feel like her best chance was in Brawl, which has long passed now. I can't think of any major reason she would be added now, especially when she's an assist trophy. But okay I guess.

- Ryu would honestly disappoint me. I ain't really a Ninja Gaiden guy, but hey, I've gotten plenty of characters that appeal to me already, so it wouldn't be a big deal.

- Monster Hunter would be neat, can't say I'd mind that at all.

- Waluigi and Octolings are my 2 most wanted, so getting one of them would be amazing and I would fanboy so hard: I've wanted Waluigi since I was a kid back in the Brawl days. Would pretty much be a dream come true.
