despite being off topic, the mitsuzune battle music is so good actually the demo alone beats' MHW for me.

MH suddenly shot up to near the top of my MW's, just remove the viocelines and we're good.

i think MH should have a palamute and palico partner out on the battlefield providing occasional support.

I've definitely posted about this before, but the whole first party/third party debate has never meant anything to me. I hope people realize that Sephiroth isn't exciting because he's a third party. He's exciting because he's Sephiroth. That's just one example, but it applies to any character regardless of first or third party. I want Dixie Kong in the game a lot. Not because she's another first party or to fill out some quota, but because I like the Donkey Kong series and would love to have more of it in the game. It would make no difference to me if Dixie was owned by Capcom or Namco or something like that.

I just can't understand people who look at it as this binary of first and third party characters when you should just support the character you want. I mean I guess if you only play Nintendo games that would explain the thought process but at that point I question why you haven't broadened your horizons. Solely owning a Nintendo console and nothing else isn't even a good excuse since there's so many great third party titles. Heck, after Sephiroth got announced I finally started playing Final Fantasy VII on Switch, my first experience with the series, proving once again that Smash is great at getting you to try out new games.

I'm not telling anyone who they should or shouldn't support, in my opinion I just don't think this whole first/third party beef should be a factor. I've seen people refer to third parties like some sort of infestation in Smash and I just have to laugh. I know people have this idea of "what Smash is supposed to be" and for some it should only be a Nintendo crossover. You're free to have any interpretation of if that you want, that's the nature of art. For me personally at the end of the day all that matters is that I'm having fun and so far Sakurai and team have been knocking it out of the park.

I think most people here agree with you, it's rather that a lot of people don't really care about the Nintendo characters who're seen as likely or that their Nintendo choices have little to no chances, especially when all the essential Nintendo characters are already in the game and the limits to third parties are seemingly infinite so **** like Kratos and Master Chief can be serious suggestions now

I don't think I saw any comment like what you're describing though. Not in the last few pages, at least.

Ultimately, if I had to take a guess, I suppose people are mostly just tired of hearing their MWs are "unhype", "better fit for base game" or "wouldn't sell". Different strokes for different folks.

Yeah Ogma's a decently popular character from the fist FE, he pretty much created the Hero archetype in the series

Ogma is Caeda's bodyguard from the Archanea games, yeah. He seems to be quite popular, or at least was for a while. In Sakurai's 64-era poll, he was second only to Marth among specific Fire Emblem characters, beating out Sigurd and Seliph. (Then again, this was a poll where Marth got 21 votes and Ogma got 8. The top vote-getter, Bowser, got 169.)

I only know him as the 3-star unit that shows up in FEH summoning sessions when I want a 5-star red unit, so because of that I do not like him

I wasn't calling out a specific post, more so just throwing my thoughts out there. I've definitely seen posts like I'm describing in some support threads for first party characters though.

Maybe I'm just making up someone to be annoyed at, but I've definitely met people like I'm describing. I guess in general I look down at how heated people can get about smash speculation. I just find the constant arguing to be tiring. I know it seems hypocritical since I'm posting on a forum for smash character speculation, but in general I just usually find myself lurking support threads for characters I like and keeping up with any potential big insider talk and speculation trends.

I love Smash, and Smash Ultimate is probably in my top five games of all time. But I don't think I could ever get seriously angry and heated during character speculation. Like I'm invested and there's characters I want, but like I can't find myself getting angry about it. Impa's my most wanted and she got deconfirmed a couple days ago. Yeah it stung a bit but like, life goes on you know. Smash is still gonna be one of my favorite games of all time and I don't think any character addition or exclusion could change that.

I've only seen one person hating on 3rd parties on principal, but even then it seems like they mostly just have a bunch of 1st parties on their wishlists.

No, I absolutely get what you're saying. My point is more like... these posters are definitely not the majority, really. Kinda reminds of when people were commenting (here and on Youtube) on Steve getting hate post-reveal and I was really confused for a while because I remember seeing... three or four people who were really vitriolic. The rest was apathetic at worst.

It kinda just bugs me that the entire portrayal of that argument has become black and white like that because of a few users. In reality it mostly has to do with people just... supporting who they wanna support, regardless of things like "how hype a character is for the general public".

The fact he's also one of gaming's most iconic villains. When you think of video game villains, he's one of the first ones that come to mind along with Bowser, Eggman, and Ganondorf. He definitely more than earns his spot on the roster.

I'm not a Final Fantasy fan but I can tell you right now I was legit hyped upon his reveal. Due to Sephiroth's inclusion, I'm watching a walkthrough of the FFVII Remake and might even get it because it seems really fun so far.

It really was an excellent endeavor. Does anyone still have the results? I'm not sure where to find them at this point.

Lots of talk about first-party vs. third-party lately. Personally, I`m a lot more interested in third-party characters. Nothing wrong with first-party characters but out of all the ones I see lots of talk and support of, none really stand out to me or interests me much.

I wouldn`t consider myself as much of a fan of Nintendo games exclusively, or even mostly, as much as a fan of good video games. Smash to me is great because it`s a crossover of so many of those great games; plus the first Smash game I played was Brawl which already crossed into third-party territory with Snake and Sonic.

There are maybe a few more Nintendo characters that would get me hyped, maybe more that I'm forgetting at the moment, but most of my first party wants have already been answered.

At this point I'm honestly not expecting Chorus Kids or Mach Ride.

Geno is a Mii and Isaac and Shadow are assists. The closest I see to those so-called promotions people keep saying is the Bomberman Mii which looks exactly like the character itself otherwise why make that a costume and not an actual promoted character?
