True, but I do feel like a Copy Ability Kirby the way I described my idea for the Gimmick fits Smash's DLC PERFECTLY! Maybe it could be given to a "Kirby and Animal Buddies" Moveset. Either way I really like my Concept so I though I should share it since we were talking about Kirby.Imo there’s no point in a modern Kirby being added when he’s the exact same character and is still nearly identical to his past designs besides a few proportions and his classic face.
I mean, they could add a second Kirby using moves from his original game as copy powers instead of a unique one for each fighter, but as DLC? It feels more like something that’d be in a Smash reboot or if they added alternate moveset options, kinda like what Smash Bros. Crusade does with Link and I think a few others like Little Mac.
I may want an 8-Bit Mario but at least he’d actually be different for the most part. Actually, I guess this new idea on an 8-Bit Kirby would be cool, wouldn’t fit the non-Sakurai part of the idea though, which doesn’t make sense to me anyway tbh since he’s still originally Sakurai’s creation and a lot of the copy moves would be ones originally made by Sakurai.
I do think there should be some cel-shading applied to Modern Kirby as well, as a neat Reference to Battle Royale. It wouldn't be that hard to implement considering how Final Smashes and Teams already use it, so I think an Outline on Modern Kirby would help differentiate a little bit more. In teams Modern Kirby gets a Thicker Outline than everyone else. They might notice when looking at the portraits, but they likely wouldn't be able to keep track of the differences in battle.
even then at first glance they would look the same say for obviously the different renderThey might notice when looking at the portraits, but they likely wouldn't be able to keep track of the differences in battle.
while it does fit the gimmicky style most dlc characters have I just don't think we're getting another version of someone already on the roster. only ones I could really see are tetra or ganon. one idea i've seen thrown around for bwd is switching the elements for his spear like in star allies and that's kinda like that I guess, but that is the most likely way I see that gimmick fully realized at least for ultimateTrue, but I do feel like a Copy Ability Kirby the way I described my idea for the Gimmick fits Smash's DLC PERFECTLY! It literally says it's tomorrow bruhThere was a problem fetching the tweetThe Monster Hunter Rise demo is out right now.
I find a new Pokemon character extremely unlikely because of that Spirit Event and other factors.New prediction regarding the last 3.
CP9: Chun-Li
CP10: Ryu Hayabusa
CP11: Cinderace
If we do have have a gen 8 Pokémon, I don't think it would be the last one. The last character will release in november or december, so at that point gen 8 will not be relevant and the next Pokémon game (probably gen 4 remake) will be released by now. If there's a Pokémon rep in the season pass, I think the last chance for it is to be the next character, because that would probably be in March near Pokémon day and before the reveal of gen 4 remake or the next game.New prediction regarding the last 3.

Fair point now that you mention it. Reason I just assumed this is because Smash tends to end with a character that's anti-climatic for the most part.If we do have have a gen 8 Pokémon, I don't think it would be the last one. same reason there was a boom in eggman disscussion. sephiroth confimed secondary non-echo third parties are possibleSo I never quite knew why Chun-Li started to become so popular in discussion. Was there a leak or something?

You're both correct. There was a leak and it's because of Sephiroth confirming secondary non-echo third parties are possible.same reason there was a boom in eggman disscussion. sephiroth confimed secondary non-echo third parties are possible
That's fair, but I don't think they need to end on a anti-climatic note just because they did it in the past. Beside, I wouldn't call Bayonetta anti-climatic to end the Smash 4 dlc cycle.Fair point now that you mention it. Reason I just assumed this is because Smash tends to end with a character that's anti-climatic for the most part.
Also, the fact I imagine E3 would reveal a hyped character. I imagine Ryu Hayabusa would generate hype being an NES classic icon he is and Yuri being the most popular of the Tales protagonists and Tales being a big series in Japan.
Maybe but there seemed to have been backlash about her given folks thought the ballot was rigged. That's fair, but I don't think they need to end on a anti-climatic note just because they did it in the past. Beside, I wouldn't call Bayonetta anti-climatic to end the Smash 4 dlc cycle.
There's two things. The first is that Sephiroth opened the door to non-protagonists and characters from already-represented series, and we did the standard "Predict characters just like the new guy" thing. She probably would've fizzled out or at least become more underground, but then A Ayumi Tachibana dug up this old 5chan leak, which I summarized a while ago.So I never quite knew why Chun-Li started to become so popular in discussion. Was there a leak or something?
Supposedly it involved characters who had negotiations going on in the planning stages but didn't turn up, like Erdrick (Who was rumored to have been tha case) and Steve (Who was confirmed to be the case). Notably, this was only ten days after Ultimate released, which got kit a lot of attention for correctly guessing all this. Among these dropped deals were Chun-Li, who was allegedly replaced by Ken, and Lloyd and Yuri, who were both in the planning stages but vanished. It never really explained why there were two Tales characters or why they didn't turn up, so there's been some theories on that. We're really calling it the Chun-Leak now, aren't we? I feel like that name's kinda misleading, but okay then.
Anyways here's a link to the thing, which will probably get buried pretty soon anyways.
https://smashboards.com/threads/newcomer-dlc-speculation-discussion.453424/page-4813#post-24211016
Since there seems to be some confusion on what it's about, here's the takeaways:
And that's the gist of it. Anyways I'm going to put this in my signature so I don't have to keep repeating myself.
- The post was made about ten days after SSBU released.
- Erdrick and Steve were being worked on for the base game, but were scrapped.
- Hero was already rumored to have been pushed back, and we know Steve was in the works for a long time.
- Steve apparently had his model working already, which would've sounded pretty unrealistic if he wasn't just six static rectangles.
- Chun-Li was allegedly replaced with Ken. This would put her in line with the likes of Alucard and Decidueye, who were considered but dropped for the Belmonts and Incineroar, respectively.
- Both Lloyd AND Yuri were being considered in the planning stages, but were dropped. This would make them more like Steve and Hero. No reason was given, but I have some theories:
- Nintendo though Bamco was getting a large-enough cut of the base game's sales, an thought it best if a Tales character was confined to a DLC pack.
- They were holding off to see how well Tales of Berseria and/or Vesperia DE did. Keep in mind the roster was finalized in 2015, so they wouldn't have known at the time.
- Bamco got Nintendo to hold off for the 25th anniversary. Usually this would mean jacksquat, but seeing as Bamco is also working on the game, they might have more pull over the matter.
- Sora was a candidate, but he was dropped on the basis that he wouldn't feel right without Disney content (Which is a bit of a hot topic on this thread, so grab a fire extinguisher, just in case).
- Sephiroth was considered, but conceded to Hero. Seeing as he didn't have a reason for being dropped beyond DQ, which is an entirely separate franchise, it's not surprising that Nintendo went back and gave him a second chance.
- Geno was stated to have a sensitive position. Squeenix thought he was associated with Smash more than anything, as almost all his requests are for Smash and not a new game. Allegedly, they were "unsure of the fan's real intentions."
That's just Smash fans being Smash fans. It's not necessarily about the quality of Bayonetta as a pick.Maybe but there seemed to have been backlash about her given folks thought the ballot was rigged.
Hmm...well, while I approve of that more boss policy...The solution is add more boss fights as a whole so multiple franchises have multiple bosses. Boom
Either of those would those I'd be happy with. First one having Crash, the second having Elma.My bet is either KOS-MOS, Crash and Reimu as per the 5ch rumor that said “no mii costumes from 4 will be promoted to playable in ult’s DLC”
if not that, then Elma (teases of a possible Xenoblade X port soon and Hiroyuki Sawano’s project/Caitlin Glass’s NDA are still unknown), Ahri (the League of Legends rumor) and a wildcard (Shantae maybe?)
yeah but after fp2 assuming there isn't a fp3 a couple of new bosses would be good for additional contentHmm...well, while I approve of that more boss policy...
...we should keep in mind that the amount of development resources required to make a boss is probably comparable to that of a fully playable character(minus the balancing portion). So adding TOO many bosses is going to get in the way of adding new characters.Mother Brain [Metroid]
Andross(N64 version) [Star Fox]
Arceus [Pokemon]
Porky [Earthbound]
Medusa [Kid Icarus]
Liquid Snake piloting Metal Gear REX [Metal Gear]
Eggman piloting Death Egg Robot [Sonic the Hedgehog]
Dr. Wily piloting Wily Machine [Mega Man]
Safer∙Sephiroth [Final Fantasy]
Wow that is just...hmm...that would be an absolute nightmare way to finish off the Pass...My bet is either KOS-MOS, Crash and Reimu
Oh, I'd love that. We were just talking though about series getting a 2nd boss though. And I'm just like, "Not while so many still need a first."yeah but after fp2 assuming there isn't a fp3 a couple of new bosses would be good for additional content
Why exactly? Just curious is all.Wow that is just...hmm...that would be an absolute nightmare way to finish off the Pass...
Nothing quantifiable. Just 3 of my absolute least wanted is all.Why exactly? Just curious is all.
Because he hates most or all of them. Why exactly? Just curious is all.
Claps THANK YOU!Because he hates most or all of them.
EDIT: If one man's trash is another man's treasure, a lot of our treasure is his trash. Conversely a lot of his treasure are just mundane house objects for us. Dat jus how it be sometimes.
Sorta unrelated but I can't help but laugh whenever I see a character unfairly dismissed as a generic anime swordsman because one of my most-wanted characters is pretty much just a generic anime swordsmanI'm not going to bother with trying to predict Smash Ultimate's DLC any more. This was the last prediction that I made:
Since that prediction was made back in mid-October, two of the four characters that I thought were extremely likely were seemingly ruled out. (I realize that Mii costumes, especially ones that don't act/look like the character that they're based on, or post-launch spirits don't necessarily confirm that a character won't be playable, but so far, they've both been treated as consolation prizes)
I'd like to think that Dante and Ryu Hayabusa are still likely, but for all I know, we'll randomly get a Ninja Gaiden spirit event randomly revealed on some Tuesday in February, and then when March rolls around, we'll get Monster Hunter as a DLC character with a Dante Mii swordfighter costume that serves as a poor substitute for the actual character and gets people calling him "a generic anime swordsman" even though that couldn't be farther from the truth.
1. Telethia the EndbringerThis sounds like a fun game. If you could add 3 bosses to Ultimate, who would they be?
My 3.
1. Giygas
2. Mother Brain
3. GladOS.
Ah this again haha! People talk about how certain characters "open up the door" for others. Yet they forget there's only 3 fighters left. There's not many characters that are going to be walking through that door.same reason there was a boom in eggman disscussion. sephiroth confimed secondary non-echo third parties are possible

Does that mean that one should ignore the door completely though?Ah this again haha! People talk about how certain characters "open up the door" for others. Yet they forget there's only 3 fighters left. There's not many characters that are going to be walking through that door.
Out of hundreds of possibilities there are only three. You have to put those odds into account. So what are the odds of getting Chun-Li? I don't think they're any better than any other character.
Yeah, there was some people realizing "Y'know, we always go for characters just like the most recent one..." After Min Min there was recent Nintendo characters like Rex, after Steve there were huge recent third-parties like Jonesy, etc. There was also prediction based on the most recent two fighters; After Min Min and Steve we thought it would be all recent characters, and with Steve and Sephiroth I saw some predictions that this pass would be high-budget and focus on the huge heavy-hitters.Ah this again haha!
