Tinpot speculation. I wonder if The last character will be a character that isn’t promoting anything on the switch.

The characters In the fighter passes have links on the smash website that take them to games they have on the Nintendo switch. In pass 1 we had

4 characters that had links to promote games they had on the switch whilst we had 2 characters who didn’t have links to games on the switch. Those being joker and banjo

In this pass we have 4 with links to games they have on the switch and 1 with no game on the switch so I wonder if The last will have no game on the switch to promote therefore making it a perfect 4 promotional characters and 2 non promotional characters.

I think this is stretching a bit:
I can see you counted Plant as a Pass 1 fighter, because with him, there indeed would be 4 characters with promotion links: It, Hero, Terry, and Byleth.

If the final fighter creates another 4-2 situation, this time with Pass 2, that'd be kinda neat ig.

I understand you didn't imply this, but the character could still promote a game on another console.

True which is why I said tinpot. Just having some fun with speculation. There’s a lot of weird coincidences that just line up. It’s fun to speculate about them wether they come true or not.

R.O.B. is so underappreciated, not just in smash but in general and I would pay good money to have him get another game.

Gaige’s other voice actress, Luci Christian is another one of my favorite voice actresses. I think that line you quoted was actually Luci. They each did about half of Gaige’s lines. It’s cool that one character was played by two actresses I really like.

If Gaige somehow made it into Smash, I wonder if they would go with Cherami or Luci for the voice.

Eh, a lot of characters can be applicable to this. In fact they may not have a Switch game when they appear but they might have one further down the line. Persona 5 Scramble is on the Switch but the site doesn't update to include that Joker appears in that game.

I would feel very confident of an MK rep if it wasn’t for a few things. First, being banned in Japan is a huge hurdle but not one that isn’t possible to overcome. The main things that make me doubt a character are the Fire elemental and fighting game character events we had recently. Scorpion or Sub-Zero could still get in but I’m having doubts if it will be in this game. I think they have a really good shot for the next Smash at least.

Not that many changes from the previous poll huh. Which is kinda unexpected - I honestly did expect some more changes considering three of the previous top 10 did get in the game in some form (incl. Rex's small appearance in Pyra / Mythra's moveset) and both Dante and Hunter (assuming it's MH and not Gon or another anime character) got Mii costumes.

Same here. I think I slightly prefer Luci but they are two of the best voice actresses ever in my opinion and I would love to have either one of them as a playable character in Smash.

Don't forget that Sakurai stated that once the DLC was finalized, it would be "very difficult to change anything", or something along those lines. He's implying that change is not impossible, but not easy either.

Looking back at the comments there, I found that even Japanese heavily criticize the poll and anyone who tries to suggest non-video game characters.
