It's been a long time since I've seen Chrono Trigger but I don't remember Magus having time powers so I doubt it, though something like that could work for the Prince, though I was under the impression he could only reverse time

Chrono Trigger is all about time travel so while Magus doesn’t really specifically have time bending powers, it does make some amount of sense. Magus was also able to summon Lavos from another time period so that shows he at least has some control over time. Still, I didn’t end up giving him an attack like that because I based his moveset off his skills in the game.

While I suppose it's possible, aren't the odds of getting another Capcom character quite slim?

The Pythra Mii wave bombarded us with Capcom Mii Costumes. Yes, I'm aware Sakurai stated that this is because of the upcoming games at the time.
I mean without a doubt it's probably gonna either be Phoenix or Dante, but still...

Anyone who follows him on Twitter knows he's a big fan of Advance Wars and Golden Sun. Also, the dude isn't your regular leaker, first because even if he knows things he usually doesn't hint at upcoming announcements, and when he does, he's usually very subtle about it.

And I don't think directly answering NoA's twitter post is very subtle lol

Tbf Shinobi did the same thing for Ridley and Banjo, though he specifically mentioned Smash those times

Also doubtful it means much of anything but if it did I think GBA on Switch Online seems practical, moreso than brand new games for those series.

I’d guess it’s probably the next step forward beyond SNES, unless they want to do OG Game Boy too... but I think there’s more interest in GBA.

I don't think Mii costumes deconfirm all of Capcom; just the characters themselves at best and the series at worst. With that said, in combination with spirit events and certain games releasing after November 2019, I think the characters/series deconfirmed are:

Monster Hunter
Ghost n' Goblins (unless you think Fire Brand still has a shot at entering the roster before Arthur)
Jill, Chris, Leon, and Wesker, in addition to RE Village characters like Ethan Winters

On the other hand, I think these chars still have a decent shot:
Dante
Strider Hiryu
Frank West
Mega Man Zero
Nathan Spencer
Chun-Li
Morrigan Aensland
Mike Haggar
Phoenix Wright
Tron Bonne
Viewtiful Joe
Maybe Claire Redfield? She is one of the playable characters of the Resident Evil 2 remake, which was released on January 2019

These days people can't breathe on twitter without having at least one person think that they're hinting at the inclusion of an air elemental in Smash Bros.

Love the representation of every game - even 0.2. It's hard to narrow down Kingdom Hearts' tracks to 8-10, there's too many good and fitting ones.

I don't remember what he said about Ridley, but the Banjo thing was definitely more subtle, even if it was because he wasn't @ Nintendo on Twitter

While I don't think it's a hint either (also since we're still 13 days away from the presentation and a lot of insider stuff have come closer to the event). I could certainly see Nintendo / IS at least take a second look at Golden Sun and AW and consider new games for them. It's nigh-impossible to say with certainty what Nintendo's calculus is (especially since they often march by their own drum), it's also possible that they want to avoid pidgeon-holing Camelot / IS into Mario Sports / FE respectively further. Although given that the "pidgeon-holing" has already happened... chances are pretty good that I'm off the mark.

Anyhow, I think the timing is decent-to-pretty-good for EU and football / soccer fans considering the circumstances. While the Nintendo E3 presentation starts at the same time as the Hungary-Portugal game, if it had started 3 hours later it would've started at the same time as the France-Germany game.

The former makes things quite hectic for quite a lot of football fans, the latter makes things much more difficult.

Grumbles some more about GB games still not being on the Switch Online.

Hope they announce GB+GBA games on Switch Online, since that service could use quite a few of those games.

This is literally the 2/17 Direct all over again. I doubt it means anything other than Shinobi expressing his desire to see those franchises return like he's done many times before.

I don't see Golden Sun returning for the time being given Mario Golf is releasing this month. As for Advance Wars, nothing until mid-late 2022 at the earliest given the FE remake releasing this year and Project Triangle Strategy. Maybe just maybe we can hope for the rumored mobile game in the interim.

If I'm not wrong, he didn't call Ridley himself, but Smash being announced before the March 2018 direct.
Both times he said "a smashing good time" for historians in this thread.

I'm going with Ryu or Master Chief and Porky double reveal at E3 with Mother 3 finally released.

Amy Rose and Pokemon Trainer 2 double reveal maybe. Those are the last two and you cannot escape it. No force on this earth can dissuade reality from making it so, so the dark wizards of the inner world of Agartha have proclaimed. They really like Smash Ultimate in Agartha.

I'm still betting on one Smash reveal just because of how anticlimactic it would be to reveal the very last character after F10, then talk about them three months later when the hype has settled.

Nintendo calls the shots, but it'd be bizarre if they didn't do the reveal and Sakurai Presents so close together.
