Yes, I would main Goku, along with Shadow the Hedgehog, since Goku and Shadow are my Most wanted Characters (though Shadow is the main focus though)

I really hope they give him Transformations though. SSF2 and Crusade do the sin of making Kaioken the only transformation, and it's fun to use Kaioken in those games, but I really do think if he was actually added to Smash, they incorporate the Transformations more into the Base moveset and not just the Final Smash. Being able to Transform into SSJ, SSJ3, SSG, SSB, and maybe even Ultra Instinct in the midst of battle captures a large part of what Dragon ball is all about

Jotaro had the excuse of having to find and murder all of a gay vampire's secret boogeymen agents that were around after the fact of killing him. Or finding some random serial killer while also writing your thesis on ****ing starfish. And even in the end he patched things up before dying.

Being a good dad is nice and all, but studying sea cucumbers is a lot more fun.

Also, didn't Goku deliberately choose to be dead rather than coming back to life to spend time with his family? And even when he did choose to come back to life, he did so for only 24 hours because he wanted to enter a tournament.

but, like, if he gathered all dragon balls and wished to join Smash, wouldn't that get Goku into Smash?

There's nothing Sakurai could really do to stop that.........right?

Nah Jiren would have the Smash 4 Palutena issue, one of his specials is a counter exclusively for projectiles and another special is exclusively a counter for physical hits. This is done to be as accurate to DBFZ as possible, likewise, Vegito would have absolutely nothing he can do against shields to reference how he has no low attacks

I imagine they could tag in and out like in the DKC games. For the most part, this would act like a normal transformation. The main difference would be that the inactive King would still be visible and follow the main one and would be able to be picked up and thrown at opponenents.

To be fair, I spend a lot more time speculating on the roster and imagining my favorite characters getting in Smash than I actually do playing it. I think the roster is a huge part of Smash’s appeal. The gameplay is a lot of fun but I don’t think it would be anywhere near as successful without its amazing roster.

Understandable

To make a bit of a hot take, Personally I actually really like DBZ Broly's backstory. It's sounds stupid that Goku's Crying from back then is what set Broly over the edge, but Honestly I think it's interesting and realistic

People with Trauma can be set off at the smallest things that may relate to the Trauma. The Day Goku was crying was also the day that Broly was attempted at his life along with his father and left to die, and also the same day Planet Vegeta blew up. Seeing Goku's face probably just reminded Broly about everything, and invoked the rage inside him, allowing him to Turn into Legendary Super Sayian

Buu and the new girl from Xenoverse are awesome too. They’re probably right after Piccolo as far as my favorite characters go. I’m a big anime fan but I’ve barely seen much of Dragon Ball or played many of the games so I’m mostly going off designs and Piccolo’s voice actor (Chris Sabat).

I feel like I should give Dragon Ball a chance since I like action anime’s and a lot of character designs are cool but there are so many episodes that it’s kind of intimidating.

I mean the pink girl with white hair that kind of looks like Buu. I’m not sure if she originated from Xenoverse but that’s the first place I’ve seen her.

I just looked her up and her name is Android 21. I also just found out she has a more normal looking form although her pink form is the one I like.

Also...kinda bummed mine is Jiren. He's probably the most boring character ever conceived for the DB franchise. I'd rather be Farmer with Shotgun.

I... think I'd rather have neither, tbh. Taking Zelda as an example, there's more than enough interesting characters in that series to make three Links sound completely unnecessary, but Dorf's moveset being based on someone who isn't even from the same series sometimes makes me wish we waited until Brawl to get him.
