It's 20-some freebies out of over 90. They'd be able to find it anyway, and these are only difficult due to recognition by music, while others are trickier in the sense that it actually takes thought rather than simple recall.

Nah Cello, I was playing it on the physical console, and I would still do as such (unless said item is legendary hard to find). Two months ago, I bought the hard cartridges of Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow.
