This has nothing to do with Link but rather with our forums. (referring to locking of Link legends and Link tier list)

Wow. I got to say I think rule 7 should be changed. I mean, nobody was offended by those threads. If people had shown any signs of being offended shutting them down might be reasonable but that was not the situation.

It was explicitly stated in those threads that these topics were not suppose to be taken seriously.

I'll even go 1 step further as to note the Link tier list had almost 50 pages. If you guys were going to shut it down why now? Why so suddenly when you could have done it so long ago.

I want this topic to be a discussion on your feelings of the situation.

i'm with you guys 100 percent. you're right nobody was offended. in fact, i used that tier list as extra motivation to get better, thinking i might get on it one day. the closing of these threads was stupid.

yea, the mods are never around when you need them, besides that was a very tough reading of that rule. As our thread wasnt even close to having a similar topic as the examples. And also being high in the tier list doesnt mean people will like you or anything(just watch meta knight, who likes meta knight, even meta knight mains thinks he is gay), also it doesnt affect how people see you, so I REALLY DONT GET IT. Does somebody even know who Buzz is, where, why and how did he get mod. Also I wonder why they closed our general disscussion.

I WANT ANSWERS (somebody up for making a complain thread somewhere where the mods may be watching).

Don't start a war on Buzz, lol. He's a good mod and was only doing what a mod was supposed to do.

I'm sure though that with enough requests he'll open the tier list and legends thread back up. He's accepted such requests before.

Consider the general chat thread perma-closed though. The mods were ordered to do that.

The Ganon tier list was closed too. I've never seen Buzz post in it before to lock anything. Hylian does so routinely, and he never had trouble with the tier list. We are in the same boat here.

I just used BUZZ kill for two reasons

1. He was the 1 to close
2. It is a good pun.

I wasn't a fan of the legends thread since it just didn't seem interesting, but I agree that the tier thread shouldn't have been closed.

While closing it did follow the letter of the rule, the spirit of it was certainly not intended for this situation. People were on that list by choice and if requested they would have been removed. A friend finder also is a list of people in the OP and that isn't closed right? Anyway I'll probably pm Buzz to see if we can work this out.

They did. It's been dead for ages.

And yes they shouldn't have been closed.

After I found out my thread was closed, I decided to read up on Rule 7. Appearently, I can't make a thread that might offend people or compile useless information.

So appearently, every single one of us Link mainers are just "useless information".

I kid, but it's a rather iffy interpretation of rule 7. Maybe Buzz didn't know about the thread too well and thought people might have been offended by it by being placed low in the tier or or some such matter. You can't really blame him, he's only doing his job.

If you would really want to have it opened, talk to the guy or something. I'll still update it and stuff, but if the mods want it closed, then I guess that'll be something we have to deal with.

Oh, and... the fun on this board will never die, Swordplay. Not for as long as I'm around.

As someone who frequents several character boards, I was rather shocked to see threads being closed on such grounds.

Don't see the point :/ No one was offended, the threads were enjoyable and some even had good info.

seriously, it wasnt useless information either seeing as how it was basically showing our progress in a fun and interactive way. Maybe it went off topic occasionally but it had alot of spirit inside.

Thanks Ich, hopefully our player tier list gets reopened. That was my favorite thread.

Starting a public rally against a mod's actions is not the appropriate course of action. Ich did the right thing, and I am discussing the matter with him.

Rule #7 is to prevent the inevitable conclusion of such threads. It doesn't matter that "nothing bad has happened yet". It was put in place based on history, not someone's personal vendetta.

@ArkiveZero -- It doesn't take knowledge of playing Link to know how to moderate a forum and enforce rules that are in effect everywhere.
