Dont remove it. Were just trying to make it a melee 2.0, but were playing brawl because we want to play brawl. Its as simple as that

To be fair, it wouldn't really be a Melee 2.0 because the hitstun would not be changed nor would airdodging be removed. More like Brawl 1.5
It would increase the use of techs like Dash Dancing and foxtrotting since the random trips is what stops those from being used much, but that would affect the hierarchy of characters a bit (note i didnt say tiers )

However, a change like this takes away from the purity of the game and I could see why its not wanted.

A funny thing about this is when the tourney hammer falls, we'll find that 98% of the talk here will be dismissed as 'just talk' theres only 2 places that matter, 1st for singles and 1st for doubles. Out of all the people here, only three really matter.
