Contact lenses

Over the years I sort of accumulated a small collection of contact lenses....The only lenses I've ever gotten were cosmetic lenses since I don't need any vision correction, so I know nothing about prescription lenses besides that I shouldn't touch them..


One of the most annoying things I've encountered is trying to figure out how they'd look on my eyes. Obviously, if you're ordering them online, you can't exactly say "Oh hey, can I try one on first?" [You CAN with some sites, but is it really worth it?]

I'm gonna post some images of the actual contacts in my eyes along with what kind they are, etc.

Most lenses are designed to give you a small but noticeable change or add some 'sparkle' to your eyes.
I prefer opaques, though.
Opaque lenses are completely solid color lenses and usually are thicker than regular lenses. A lot of the colors are very bright and obnoxious....something that suits me all too well.

When I was in sixth grade I went to the eye doctor to get contact lenses, and the whole situation because disastrous. While trying and failing over and over to put the lenses in my eyes, the doctor said that it happened all the time and he would stay until I could get them in. I took so long that he had to go see another patient and he had a nurse stay with me. When I finally got them in, I couldn't see, they were so blurry. The nurse said that it would take a while for my eyes to adjust (...wtf...?) and that I would be fine soon, and my mom drove me home. On the way home I kept complaining that I couldn't see, and that the streetlights were glaring up. The lights looked like fat blurry orbs with halos around them, and when I explained to my mom that I couldn't read, and it was 45 minutes later, she called the doctor. They figured out that they gave me the wrong prescription, the absolute wrong prescription. Something about giving me -5 when I should have been given +5. It took about another hour of trying to get them out of my eyes before I realized that I hated contact lenses and I would never try them again.

And I still haven't, which is quite childish, but a small source of insecurity that I still carry with me, and I won't ever wear them.

The thick lenses are a lot easier to put in than most clear ones....there may be hope for you yet :3

I still have trouble putting them in some days....and sometimes my eyes just don't want them in that day.

I've never had anything extreme such as cat eyes/manson/etc. But all the cosmetic lenses (which happen to be vision correcting too) that I've purchased still show a hint of brown. Which I hate.

Edit: Yeah, color shows through on some of mine, too. It all depends on the type of color pattern on the lens....some have it on the outer ring only, some have it on the outer ring and all the way to the pupil.
The latter looks better but sometimes it sucks because you can get halos of color in your peripheral vision.

Well, Why would you take the specific time just to change the colour of your hair when the focus is on your eyes.

I have prescriptions for my astigmatism. I used to have Bausch and Lomb Soflens 66, but I just got my new prescription and they don't make those kinds that powerful, so I have to get Acuvue Oasis, which are more expensive. They're supposed to be the best, but I think the others were more comfortable. Maybe these are just thicker. Also, if my astigmatism gets worse, they might not make disposables powerful enough, and I'll have to get hard lenses .

well i like the color max aqua.

well since i actually need them, i will tell you what they do. they for one make your eyes stand more. when you where glasses, that is all people notice(***s) but

they kind of give your the whites of your eyes a cloudy blue color.

it makes the color in your eyes stand out a little. I hated contacts at first. Its the hardest thing in the world to put them in. having to touch your eye purposly is very difficult.

it also dries out your eyes like no tomorrow. you have to get use to that.

love mine, they are encore. there are probably better ones though.

I wear contact lenses, but they are correctional, I once had to replace one of them during a movie with a cube of ice to wet it. I was very proud of myself.

On topic: I sometimes wish I had contacts so as that I could do away with my crappy eye colour, I mean they're virtually black especially since my pupils are nearly fully dilated all the time for some reason.

I wear contact lenses. Hate glasses. Can't play sports , fight and it looks really nerdy and lame. Plus, you have to clean it, limited eyesight(the frames)... etc.

Yeah, with contact lenses, you have to put em on and remove them every night and day. But it IS worth it IMO. You get used to putting them on and removing them really quickly. I'm happy with my lenses.
