if you fell like giving hip hop a try, I suggest:

Common, Jurassic 5, The Roots, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Black Star, Cunninlynguists, Blue Scholars, Styles of Beyond, Swolen Members, A Tribe Called Quest, Nas (specifically illmatic), Wu Tang Clan (36 chambers)
talib kweli? that's like.. extra virgin rap with with a side of water and unsalted crackers.

there's is absolutely nothing exciting about that guys music.

not saying you should suggest 'shoochomama' and 'robyokidz' murder rap.

but something more.. .. .. uhh.. MORE.

i'm just nit-picking

Keep posting about music. I have been trying to broaden my horizons as of late so this is helpful.

Mogwai, I think I am gonna grab Illmatic by Nas. Rob told me to get that too.

As always I'm gonna say Linkin Park lol

For anime opening/endings I'd recommend pretty much the entire Cowboy Bebop soundtrack as Chewman already suggested. Check out the movie's soundtrack too, it has this one awesome song that I really like called "What Planet is this". Uh, Code Geass ops/eds are good (though the second season's were significantly inferior), Gurren Lagann's opening song, Tales of the Abyss opening (was used in the combo vid "Take That Sakurai!" on youtube), Fate Stay Night's are all good and the soundtrack for that is kickass, the Full Metal Panic series, FLCL's soundtrack, GUNDAM SEED (despite being a mediocre show the music is absolutely phenominal ESPECIALLY the openings, check all four out, and the first ending song is also spectacular), Sword of the Stranger has great music and you'd better watch it first if you haven't already, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya of course, Utawarerumono's op is good (though the show is not lol), Tsubasa Chronicle series has some pretty good music but for the love of God don't watch the show, Mai-Hime has good music, Death Note's entire soundtrack is ****ing amazing, Claymore's op is good, Outlaw Star's op, and the Berserk op is decent (you're gonna hate it at first, but once you listen to it 25 times as you watch the entire show it kinda grows on you).

Non-anime related I recently stumbled upon the song F.C.P. Remix by the Fall of Troy and it's so ****ing good. I can't stop listening to it, I'm listening to it at work as I'm typing this LOL

Pakman, any good songs by The Who you'd recommend other than Baba O'Riley? That's the only song of theirs I've heard and I like it a lot.

I dunno, I guess I'm not really into any of his recent ****, but up to The Beautiful Struggle I liked his stuff.

I honestly think that Illmatic is the best cover to cover hip hop album by leaps and bounds, it's a good choice.

Get Live at Leeds. Unbelievable album.

For DarkDragoon

A Perfect Circle
Girl Talk
Kyuss
Mamas And The Papas
Meat Loaf
Prodigy
Puscifer
Simon And Garfunkel
Spoon
Stealers Wheel
The Animals
Tool
Tortoise
Vertical Horizon

Thats enough for now.

Let me know if you'd like to know more specifically what to download. I'm still curious though, why did you delete all your music? Why not just add to it? I would cry and kill someone if I found out my music collection was deleted. It took me a long time to get 55GB's of music on my computer. A LONG TIME.

o_o Well I didn't delete ALL of it, I just ran through the 2ggigs I had at the time and picked out certain tracks that I didn't feel like tracking down or ripping from YT again.

THen I deleted the rest because I didn't really like it that much.
:p
Thanks for all the suggestions guys.
I've got about 4Gigs worth now...and growing!

I actually don't have a broad music taste, shoot me.

I find absolutely no need to have thousands of gigs of music that I'm never going to listen too.

If you want some Boston Beatdown stuff DD just ask me, I've been listening to way to much comeback kid lately.

Hahahahaha, awesome post Cog.

I listen to music probably 90% of the time I am awake though, I try to listen to something new everyday! Hence all the music. If I hear a song I like, I get the album...I am weird like that.

I've already suggested them to DD over AIM, but Jake introduced me to a band called "Passion Pit," and my life has never been the same, so I suggest them to everyone

lmao Chewman I was just thinking why no one had mentioned The Beatles LOL

And incidentally, did you know that FOUR of their albums are on Rolling Stone's top 10 of their The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list?

How about MSTRKRFT?

I find that people who write for Rolling Stone are kind of snobby. Their lists usually have pretty serious omissions. However the Beatles ****** the list does not surprise me. Beatles rock.

I should add...
Beatles-everything
And for the Stones, just get Forty Licks.

Lol, mogwai, i would have said "apparently ska is less than Jake now."
lol, that's exactly what I couldn't put my finger on. like, I was literally saying the exact same thing in slightly different ways and it kept sounding stupid, so I eventually got tired of my backspace key and gave up.

that's cause it's not 1999 anymore *used to be in a ska band in the late 90s*

cog youre a MM fan? the moon and antarctica is one of my favorite albums ever.
It's one of my favorites ever, too. I never get sick of it, it's so friggin dense and amazing. When I saw them last summer they only played ONE song from it (paper thin walls) which was so disappointing...
