I'm assuming they based their results on US and Canada? but why not non-western countries? I'm skimming it now but it seems more like they're saying Vegetarian diets > Western Diets. Not omnivore diets.

Because it was a North American study group...? I dunno. A western diet is the one we're living in and exposed to every day so I don't see a problem.
Maybe part of the point is that North America has the greatest freedoms of food choice ever in the history of man? (and we invent the loaded steakhouse burger >_>)

What I mean is western diets are largely very unhealthy, for instance compare it to china. Most every day citizens in China are healthy despite the fact their diet includes meat. Now look at the wealthy business men who indulge in western diets, they're getting unhealthier.

That's largely what I'm trying to say, it's just a lot harder to get fat on a vegetarian diet.

Watching Cannibal Holocaust alone in the dark is enough to give a human the ability to vomit on command for the rest of their life. At the same time I really liked the movie, not so much for it's content (animal cruelty, ****, cannibalism, etc.), but the fact that the movie looked so real (albeit the animal violence was) the director and producers were arrested immediatly upon it's release on grounds of murder. And if you can appreciate it, two of the actors were American (it's an italian film) and only spoke english and had no idea what kind of film they were getting into prior to it. Imagine being flown to the amazon and not knowing anyone, you don't have a script, and then you see a villager pushing a wheelbarrel with real-looking body parts in it. Yeah...

The other film is the worse of the two. It's not technically a "scary movie", at least not by definition, but it's the most disturbing and repulsive film ever made. And it doesn't just "do things to gross you out", it's an insidious masterpiece with many social commentaries. It makes you feel things you've never thought of feeling. Watching it alone will leave you in an altered state for probably a week. The images and acts done in the film NEVER leave you. I've watched the film only once and I can describe, in detail, every scene.

Can you guess what it is cog? Answer is below...no googling now...

The film is called Salo. The full name is Salo, the 120 days of Sodom. Again an italian film(what's wrong with these people lol), in which the director was murdered not long after the films release. It's loosely based on the Marquis de Sade, and a fascist legend of the town of Salo(which may be true, the directors brother was killed in Salo). The criterion dvd used to go for around $800, but Criterion has, in an unprecedented way, re-released Salo in a 2-disk special edition with many extra-features for $35. I own it now, and have only watched the special features. DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE unless you are certain you have what it takes.

OH SNAP, I forgot to mention Last House on the Left....it's like watching a snuff film....for real...(s)'nuff said.

It's only distastful if you advertise the film as a "film for the whole family!"
If not, then it's a matter of what's necessary to convey the social and analytical commentaries being portrayed, graphic and disturbing as they might be. They are not meant to leave a good taste in your mouth. If you find anything about these films arousing, entertaining, or fun in any way, you have serious psychological problems.

I haven't seen Ichi yet. There's just so much Asian Tartan Cinema being pumped out that i'm not that interested. Audiition was enough for me. That and Old Boy. Old Boy is ****ing amazing!

I don't mind violence/gore in the least. I just wouldn't want to watch tastetless REAL footage of animal torture >_> sounds messed up lol and I've seen some ****ed up **** in my day.

Ichi honestly wasn't that bad... I thought the gore/violence was more cartoony than realistic.

The fact that those old italian films are poorly shot adds to the realism I think. Yeah the director of Cannibal Holocaust had to bring the actress into court to prove she wasn't dead. Personally I will never watch it because of the real animal killings...

I have 8 empty bottles of Revive vitamin water on my desk from the past 2 days. Free drinks at work are sweet and make the rest of the minibosses massively jealous of me.

Also, my 4 x 4 x 4 rubiks cube time is down to consistently under 10 minutes now, I'd say that I can typically do a 4 x 4 x 4 in about 8 minutes or so and a 5 x 5 x 5 in 10-15, but I don't like it as much so I haven't been paying attention to how long it's been taking me.

well, of course there are and if you want to be breaking world records and **** you gotta know them, but there is a lot more speed to be gained by refining your strategy for solving them rather than learning the fastest solution for specific parody cases and whatnot.

It was pure chance that a friend of mine discovered this site where a guy reviews porn movies. Not just the well known ones either, this guy watched it all and wrote about every single one of them. We quickly found out that he was popular not because people wanted to know something about any particular porno, but because he was unbelievably hilarious in his reviews. I was up all night when my friend linked me the site just reading everything the guy wrote, laughing hysterically all the while.

The first review we read of his was for swap.avi, and it's probably his funniest. He even writes a good 3 pages on how this god awful sin in humanity got around to being made. Throughout his review he repeatedly points out that he has a bucket beside him while he's viewing it and spending most of it's running time vomiting in it. I couldn't begin to tell you what happens in it. I couldn't, really. If I ever find the site again I'll link you to it if you ever want to read it for yourself. The plus of this is that you'll be laughing while you're cringing. The guy's a comedic genius, I've never read something so funny in all my life. I just wish it weren't so disturbing >_>
