The thing I love about these studies is that they almost never demonstrate causation. It seems like researchers just group together unrelated behaviors to grab headlines.

They're called gats, homieIt's kinda like saying all black men who live in ghettos own guns.
Why hello there!First off, hi, I'm from Rhode Island, but Connecticut is close enough, so cut me some slack here. I love Connecticut.
Also, my apologies about the account, I've actually been a regular lurker for about 5 or 6 months, and just recently was convinced to make an account. XD
On topic:
These kind of studies I tend to find absolutely appalling on multiple levels. Back in high school, my friends and I were huge video game junkies, none of us smoked pot, none of us even drank, and we all were holding 3.8+ GPAs, and all went 1400+ on our SATs. And yet, our weekends were (and to be honest, still are) devoted to hours upon hours of starcraft and other video games. I remember the first time the studies of negative effects video games have on people came out: it was all about how "violent video games up the chances of your child becoming a psychopath by 50%!!!" Do they have evidence? I believe the contrary, my theory is that these "researchers" are trying to discourage an enjoyable (admittedly, a time consuming one) hobby merely because of its inconvenience on society as a whole, converting real time into virtual time, which "benefits" no-one. Although this theory is probably flawed on a level or two, it makes more sense than "Pot and video games go hand and hand", which is absurd.
Obviously, they haven't seen the culture that is South Korea. It thrives off of starcraft; it is in fact comparable to football in America. I will honestly go as far as to question the creditability of these "specialists" or whatever they call themselves. They seem like close-minded fools incapable of accepting conflicting evidence that fails to support their bogus claims.
Paraphrased: They're silly.
awesome! i dont feel like a raging alcoholic pot smoking hippie that breakdances. =]Khaly, that's like everyone in my class too. no one got a passing grade on the ap physics midterm.
That's what I originally read, before I did a double take.violent video games make me want to throw hard objects at my parents
then play me!God, I love Starcraft.

u have to sign on for a total of 2 hours all together for it to be perminant...iirc, in the 2-3 days after you register, you need to be logged on for some amount of time (i think it's a few hours) or it gets deleted
i don't remember the specifics, but it was something like that
Did you use a randomly generated Starcraft key? I know that occasionally messes with your account, and guarantees a mute on any account you try to make.u have to sign on for a total of 2 hours all together for it to be perminant...
