Lucario is fine I suppose. Many TTars now run Babiri Berry so Scizor might not be the best answer to it. Luke is also 4*resistant to Rock and Dark, so if a ScarfTar is locked into one of those for some reason he'll either kill it or get a free SD as it runs.

I vote Lucario.

Mkay, we should have a ScarfTar counter poll soon. Lucario, Scizor, and Flygon, is it?

I still say Breloom.

Best CBTar counter in the game, and has no problem taking on scarfed(which is a bigger issue here).

I suggest a more offensive-oriented set with Seed bomb, Stone Edge, Spore, and Mach Punch. With this we carry a bit more momentum so someone can't just off starmie with Scarfed Tyranitar and then go to set up SR.

Example, Aero v Starmie. Aero switches and goes to latias as starmie LO hydro pumps, and then dies to ice beam. tyranitar comes in and pursuits/ crunches, killing us. Breloom comes in, uses Seed Bomb/ SE hoping to hit something hard. If aero comes in it gets 2HKOed by the following mach punch, even with sash.

etcetc

uhhhhhh breloom comes into all of standard CBtars attacks(SE, Crunch, EQ, Aqua Tail), doesn't fear scarfed versions at all, and even DD versions(of any variation) can't bypass Mach Punch's priority.

Might lose to random mixed sets, but then again name me a pokemon that ALWAYS counters Tyranitar. Scizor loses to Babiri and can't come in at all, Lucario fears 1/4 moves and is commonly checked by the most common tyranitar set atm(scarf), and flygon has the worse issues of all not being able to come in or threaten a OHKO on it.

BRELOOM'S THE WAY!

SWAMPERT can come in safely on all of ttar's moves and is as reliable as they come even vs. ddtars and those dumb mixed sets that rely on fire blast/ice beam/thunderbolt.

if it's of the listed choices though I'd say cuteloom.

with breloom, we have 2 pokes weak to fire and 1 who resists fire

which means we're definitely running either swampert or heatran on this team

Umm, out of the 4 that we're currently voting for, Flygon is the only one with a fire resistance. Heatran is going to be on this team no matter what basically.

Swampert can always be gotten around by anything. Simply use HP Grass.

I'm just going to post weaknesses and resistances for our current pokes

Starmie:
x2: Bug, Dark, Electric, Ghost, Grass (Grass and Bug covered by Yanmega; Electric covered by Nidoking)
X0.5: Fighting, Fire, Ice, Psychic, Steel, Water

Yanmega:
x4: Rock (Covered by Nidoking)
x2: Electric, Fire, Flying, Ice (Electric covered by Nidoking; Fire and Ice covered by Starmie)
x0.5: Bug
x0.25: Fighting, Grass
x0: Ground

Nidoking:
x2: Ground, Ice, Psychic, Water (Ground covered by Yanmega; Ice, Psychic and Water covered by Starmie)
x0.5: Bug, Fighting, Rock
x0.25: Poison
x0: Electric

That's what we have so far, since Breloom and Lucario are the only 2 voted on, I will add their synergy also:

Breloom:
x4: Flying
x2: Fire, Ice, Poison, Psychic (Fire, Ice, and Psychic covered by Starmie; Poison covered by Nidoking)
x0.5: Dark, Electric, Grass, Ground, Rock

Lucario:
x2: Fighting, Fire, Ground (Fighting and Fire covered by Starmie; Ground covered by Yanmega)
x0.5: Dragon, Ghost, Grass, Ice, Normal, Steel
x0.25: Bug, Dark, Rock
x0: Poison

and for the hell of it, here's Scizor and Flygon:

Scizor:
x4: Fire (Covered by Starmie)
x0.5: Bug, Dark, Dragon, Ghost, Ice, Normal, Psychic, Steel
x0.25: Grass
x0: Poison

Flygon:
x4: Ice (Covered by Starmie)
x2: Dragon
x0.5: Fire, Poison, Rock
x0: Electric, Ground

looking at this, Starmie does really well with synergy, so I say she should be kept after testing this team as her typing allows for a lot of synergy that is easily worked with.

Either way, we need a steel type on this team pronto and I'm 99% sure that it's going to be Heatran. Also, Heatran and Breloom work really well together.

I found that so horrible to try and read that it actually gave me the initiative to go to Marriland just to figure out what the heck your post was all saying.

wth...when i right click on your post, it says copy img url

maybe my comp just hates (probably it's retaliation for me saying that i'm buying a mac over the summer)

and heatran should definitely be on this team after looking at that fire and ice weakness

I don't think you realize that synergy is a lot more than resistances. You have to work well together not just resist ****. A better example of synergy is aero lead and DD that's. Aero prevents Sr and sets it up himself which greatly facilitates gyaras sweep so they synergize well despite common weaknesses.

Except there's no such thing as a good non-Heatran Pokemon that will tank Fire and Ice moves so no matter how other Pokemon work with this team their Synergy won't be as good as Heatran's no matter how they keep the momentum going. In a normal setting that post would mean something, but Heatran is forced upon us due to terrible type problems.

So we need to use Heatran AND find a set for it that synergizes the best with the team.

Suicune's nice but we should probably use something that's isn't also weak to electric :(

Actually something that could work nicely is a pivot snorlax.

I find Fire absorb to me useful than Fire resistance as well as Heatran keeping momentum better, and it really doesn't need the Ghost Immunity like Snorlax has because it can switch into WoWs, overheats, Air Slashes, Blizzards, and Leaf Storms; and force ghosts to switch out.

I actually meant that in addition to heatran, lol

I actually think a BandLax with Pursuit would help us deal with that 'huge' latias problem in an unconventional way that would also be safe for our team and also get rid of the already-huge "hey sweep me with heatran please" sign we have up right now.

Fire punch would be pretty good, selfdestruct in the last slot would be fine too to weaken a wall for yanmega to sweep away or give it a free switch-in.

For perspective:

478 Atk vs 216 Def & 301 HP (40 Base Power): 128 - 152 (42.52% - 50.50%)

This is a CB pursuit vs. a latias that stays in.
