New info from trying out team:

We need something to get rid of Mence.
Wow. You actually need to test the team to figure that out? I looked at Articanus' variant on the team and came to that conclusion. Outside of Starmie, nothing can handle it.

I'm honestly just surprised that people didn't notice it. Not trying to bash or anything (although I guess it automatically comes out that way).

...so does swampert.

There's a reason why I've been yapping so much about swampert, even though it isn't a 100% reliable mence counter.

it's not a truly reliable counter but it does a **** good job at keeping him in check

and his weakness/resistance synergy works very well with the team AND he can learn SR allowing heatran to be a revenge killer

i vote swampert

Mamoswine helps.

So much.

So will Mamoswine and Swampert be the only options for the Salamence counter?

Also, setting up SR with Heatran is terribly inconvenient.

We might be better off scrapping TSpikes on Nidoking in favor of SR and to have ScarfTran or LOTran

that could work and we could use cursepert for shear awesomeness and the fact that it deals with latias a lot better than mixpert does

Being able to go before the threatening Dragons and OHKO is more valuable to this team than actually taking 2-3 hits from said Dragons and countering back.

Being able to switch into a CM or DD and not give a muk is amazing.

Mamoswine is cool like that.

too bad mamoswine won't ohko a latias even with CB ice shard, so it won't prevent a sweep all by itself.

swampert gets 1 curse up, he 2HKO's all dragons with avalanche and is not OHKO'd by any of them, oh and Rotom is 2HKO'd by waterfall

speed wouldn't matter and mamo needs choice band to actually OHKO the dragons with ice shard, oh and it cannot switch into most moves

Mamo can use an Expert Belt (Yes, Expert Belt. Fakes Band. Not sure if this works better than just LOing, but I'll need to test this team a little more) and KO all 4X weak Dragons with Adamant Ice Shard (It doesn't need Jolly for freaking Ice Shard >.>). Latias, obviously not having this 4x weakness, isn't OHKO'd, but it doesn't KO Mamoswine with any one unboosted move, and can switch into Tbolts and SORTA MAYBE Dragon Pulses. Dragons won't be switching INTO Swampert either, so good luck getting that Curse up to get rid of the Dragons that won't even come into Swampert, bar Grass Knot Latias. Think logically with that.

BTW, I use an 80HP/252Atk/176Spe spread to outspeed Max Speed Neutral base 70s. Aka Max Speed Adamant Metagross, and to have a HAIR more bulk.

Nidoking needs to go. it's nice when blissey is on the opposing team, but otherwise it's dead weight.

How about mixed Mamoswine over it?

@Riddle: The team is based around Yanmega.

Therefore, don't complain about Yanmega.

If Nidoking needs replacing, what do you propose?
He's just saying Yanmega sucks. Yes you can make it work, but not when throwing something else on the team that also sucks.

Well, it's a mix of that and he's saying 'the team should be scrapped'. Which on some occasions, that's all you really can do.

Having some speed to back this thing has helped it tremendously though.

Or we could stop revolving around something ****ty like Yanmega and go for "Lets do a CMRachi Sweep" like any standard team would.

we might as well finish this team, frankly, and THEN begin with a new sweeper.

p.s. cmrachi is boring. both versions.

So I apologize for having fallen behind, but what's the final setup team for Yanmega? If someone could post the entire team so I could log it, that would be very appreciated.

I feel like there are enough teams running around based on MixApe. But then again, it is very relevant in this metagame. I'm impartial to MixApe. But I still support Linoone.

I say ScarfApe over MixApe, but we can't really create a team around a choice pokemon =/

I just said mixape because teams based around it are relatively linear, everybody here knows that mixape is actually pretty good, and so we won't argue that much about it.

If it were up to me we'd make it look like some ******** gimmick factory but that's totally irrelevant.
