How many SSBB tournaments have you been to Mes?
The only serous tournaments I been to were a C3 and Dylan's smashfest. I played Brawl/Melee a while ago on a less advanced level but stopped for a while when people moved away. I've only known about most ATs and tournament strategies since last spring.

Thanks Mes :) I will take a gander at reading it, might provide ideas :D It look slike there is a ton of work in it. Doesn't power shielding work against almost any char though? It is a zero latency block, iirc. And bounces items to the sender. Seems to me that mind games are needed to prevent an extremely good char from countering your moves no matter your char :)
Powershielding doesn't reflect range attacks. Link's starting lag is so long that Link can powershield a fast attack but he'll get grabbed or smashed before he can punish it:urg:. The 'inundating' part of my guide does help, but not enough. Link has to be 100% in the zone, maintain strict spacing/setup, and read the other player's mind like a book to win, Meta Knight only needs to get Link into the air (no offense Meta Knight mains). Most stages that are allowed in tournaments are better for the other character, especially since Norfair was banned. Link is good in many ways but 1 vs 1 tournaments aren't his thing.:ohwell:

The guide section with character catagories doesn't work for high level play with chaingrabbing and such.

I'm gonna shoot for money at Ranbat 2 :p Just sayin'.

Also, just rampaged through Dylan and Dave's Facebooks, a few smashers should be getting requests in 3, 2, now.

Por Meno en un situacion con aqua:
Pelea de Smash nivel tres:

Watch the beggining. You're throwing **** and he's just jumping around. You proceed to just go in and get punished for it. If they don't have a projectile and you aren't going for the kill, DON'T APPROACH
:45 You do toad. If he was quicker, that was a tippered Fsmash. Just be careful with your ****** buddy.
1:13 You're just floating, waiting to come back on. With Marf, you CAN'T do this. Just go for the ledge and you should make it back just fine.
When Martha is Grab Releasing you, just jab.
2:25: Here's a good time to approach. Throw a turnip and follow him out. Marfs are terrified of being gimped. Read an airdodge and Nair or Fair
3:03: Have a kill move...
3:07-3:19ish: You're doing it right. For actual melee combat, this was perfect. You punished landing frames perfectly and performed a great cross-up grab
Mix up getting up from the ledge by either rolling on or just getting up. The Marth was ready to punish your ledge hopped fairs

You had great turnip play and performed well close up for fighting a Marth. Make sure to not needlessly approach and when you do, create synergy between your turnips and your aerials and other ****. Make sure to remember turnips not only rack up damage but they bait reactions, punish, and combo. The best thing I would recommend is more reaction baiting with turnips and following up with more attacks.
Insane, underrated peach is insanely underrated.

After Meno lost his first match to Yaz I told him to make Yaz approach and it worked. and he won the set. Hmmm brawl is defensive. Make MK's approach and it'll be easier.

Ah, so it doesn't. :/ I guess it did in melee tho right?

I can see that is so. There is always a possibility someone will discover something, I mean, DK and DDD are slow but they can still win upper tier :) If Link can get a CG or something comparable he might get potential. I unno :)

I won't hold out hope, but I will keep a keen interest in him as a character close to my heart.

I looked at tier lists, he's on or near the bottom for EVERY Smash game made in so far. ;_;

Sigh.

Sounds like everyone had fun at the tourney. When is the next get together/tourney? So I can plan :) I need to get my pika up to tourney speed. And if there is going to be SCIV and BB too I need to get my sophitia and Taokaka up there too.

ya sophmore, you go there?

<--- Freshman :X. If you feel you can be caught hanging out with me we should play sometime, although I haven't touched melee since i cam up here so i'll probably need to get back in shape a little :(.

Either way, we should smash sometime, or at least chill sometime.

Did anyone else's text get a font size or two bigger recently? Or is this something that meno or the utahians did while in my basement?

Also, moblin/zaj are whining to have the fest sunday because of psats, but I told them that they're easy and short. Everyone agree with me?

Yeah, I noticed a font size increase too.

I never took the psats, but I can guarantee they are easy and short.
