o.o Wow. Just wow.

I think it's amazing how Smash Bros. games has other things to do and become good at other than just simply fighting. XD
Yeah. That's one thing that makes smash smash, in a way. XD It's not just pro fighting, there's pro tech, pro hacking, pro record breaking, pro just about every single aspect of this game. And they intertwine. XD It's amazing how in depth a community can become just from diving into the details of only 3 games.

I'm trying to imagine a CoD forum...

"No this gun has a higher cooldown and too much starting lag!"
"But it deals more damage and has more accuracy!:
"MK da bess'"

My thoughts as I watch...

:17 - Get off the ledge. You went right to it. Ledge isn't that good vs MK

:22 - At the end of nados roll or side dodge

:28 - Shoulda been charging your fsmash. Come on man I read that nado since before the game started and this Wii and TV was at a tourney days ago like 4 states away.

:34 - Throw off at low percents goes to fair, not laser. Or run away and charge a gyro or something. I go for the fair normally, or stay close and read their next move. Laser is very laggy and you're using it very close to him.

:37 - Best option shielding a nado like that when done it imo is dsmash

:39 - Good read on the 2nd down smash

:41 - Don't ever jump towards the opponent and laser like that unless they are very far away. Laser is incredibly slow

:46 - Luckkyyyy

:50 - ROB short hop air dodging like that is not good lol. He's not like other characters, he has ATROCIOUS air mobility. the only time that is good is when your tricking the opponent to thinking your gonna aerial, but not the way u did it there. u did it well vs his marth, not there.

:56 - PUNISH WITH UAIR
PUNISH EVERYTHING WITH UAIR

1:04 - UAIR UAIR UAIR

1:26 - BALLSY FAIR im surprised it hit lol
normally dont do that

1:34 - Get off the ledge -_-

1:41 - That's why

1:47 - What you did isn't bad throwing the gyro down when he was done nado, but I find it much safer to glide toss away (while throwing gyro at him) when you're holding a gyro and a MK is nadoing at u

1:50 - Stop using such useless lasers, you'll never have a fully charged one if u keep it up

1:57 - What did you think that full hop would accomplish?

2:09 - Don't approach MK with fsmash, beat his approaches with it

2:17 - That usmash had absolutely 0 purpose

2:24 - You falling airdodge a lot like that. Don't do it, ESPECIALLY vs MK. it puts you too low and sets you up for a dair gimp

2:30 - Learn the spacing for beating nado with nair, there was a perfect opportunity for it

2:32 - Chillll with the attacking so quickly when sent up. Players (esp MK) wait for you to make an action, then punish it when you do it. The earlier you do it, the earlier they can punish you. If their seeking to punish nair and you dont do it... they won't do anything in return since their mind is distracted. Nair is key doing it as late as possible as close to the ground while still auto canceling it.

2:36 - Don't be around that area right below the ledge, you stay there a lot, and you're gonna get dair'd for it, like that.

2:40 - Letting go to stuff is not good. Especially to a bair when MK is not over there is a bad idea lol. The only drop down option I find safe-ish vs MK a lot is drop down uair, you'll see me do it a lot in my matches and it works great. MK's expect ROB to let go and do a stupid attack (like you do lol) and dair ROB. If they try to do that to my falling uair my uair gets em.

2:47 - Like before, you're nairing too early. Kadaj could have punsihed you a million ways. Thankfully he chose one of the stupidest (but flashy) options lol

2:50 - You just... don't know laser angles lol

3:09 - You guys are even in percent and you're just rushing in on MK... an MK with an item at that. Why?

3:15 - Side thought, have you even ftilted once this entire match?

3:16 - And there you ftilt right as I unpause it -_-

3:20 - See how you air dodged late (same concept as nair) and it worked and you got to the ledge safely? If you had done it earlier like you normally do kadaj would have punished you but that time he didnt.

3:37 - One of the ONLY thing you've been doing from the ledge this whole match is drop down jump up nair'ing. I'm surprised Kadaj hasn't caught on yet... But it's not working for you either.

3:41 - When Frigate flips, get to the middle. Don't dwaddle around elsewhere, you got punished because of where you ended up.

4:16 - BLAG dont nair like that. wow im surprised u didnt die there

4:33 - When you need a ledge and MK is on it like in that situation, just hover there instead of going past it. The moment MK lets go of the ledge you'll snap right on.

hmm. many of the things you said realize(d) already, but there are some things I want to ask about further/clarify

2:50 - You just... don't know laser angles lol

that was just insulting =[
I didnt know I had a charge is all.

with the drop down nairs from the ledge, I was just trying to bait him into nadoing it because sushi man was doing it a lot in my set vs. me in winners semis, and I was hoping kadaj would do it too because he was watching that set and if he would do it then I could get kills that way...he never really went for it though =/

but when I was nairing too early when trying to touch ground, yeah that was just me being dumb.

3:15 - Side thought, have you even ftilted once this entire match?
ftilt against mk on frigate is hard because mk is never on the ground x.x even more then most stages

i normally wait at the ledge when Im trying to grab it but...idk I was just nervous.

question: how do you like to get back on stage?

lol I didn't mean to be insulting, I'm talking to you stingers, and you're quite the troll. I know you can take talk like that and dish it back just as hard.
It's one thing to fire a laser and miss angle it, but to attempt to fire a laser that no matter how much you angle it with the analog stick it couldn't hit the opponent, is what I mean. Happened a few times in the match, this was the most noticeable time. You tried to shoot at the ground (I'm assuming that), and you angled the laser all the way down and yet it still didn't reach for the ground where kadaj was.

Baiting nado isn't really a good thing to do, it's one of the hardest things to beat that MK can do to a ROB on the ledge imo.

There's always tons of options to ftilt, MK's gotta land sometime.
One time that it's great to do on is on the 2nd form of the stage, get stage control on the middle in the trough area. As MK approaches from the side he's above you, which makes it hard for him to approach with aerials and tilts and easy for you to counter with ftilt vs his ground game and fsmash vs his air game.
A couple of times in the match you approached with fsmash, like straight up walked up and fsmashed lol. replace fsmash with ftilt in those situations and keep fsmash to beating his approaches and punishing (and out of proper glide tosses).

4:33 - When you need a ledge and MK is on it like in that situation, just hover there instead of going past it. The moment MK lets go of the ledge you'll snap right on.

question: how do you like to get back on stage?
Completely understandable, last stock in game 5 of losers finals.

Getting back on the stage is what makes this matchup so bad. Notice how there were tons of times you got pummeled trying to get back to the stage and I didn't leave a comment, it's because you did nothing wrong. Unfortunately you get trapped like that. While on the ledge keep close attention to MK's pattern and have great reaction time. The moment you see them charge a forward smash and you're over 100%, use get up attack asap. If MK runs away for a second to work on spacing or their worried for some reason, get up asap. NEVER roll onto the stage. In any matchup. Not saying you did, just saying while thinking about it. Such a terrible option for ROB that like his helpless state, it shouldn't have even been programmed into the game. While recovering and going to the ledge sometimes it's good to pass it (if the MK isn't ready to drop down dair) and go under the stage to the other side. Do some drop down jump up nairs, just don't do ONLY that. Mix things up and keep MK on his feet until he backs off or messes up. Sometimes also jump up (not let go jump) and air dodge right away (better option for sub 100%). ROB getting off the ledge in like a million matches is almost wow impossible. It's one reason I like Smashville, I'll ledge camp till the platformcomes over then jump on it when it's off stage on my side.

Win. XD

Dang Chibo... you play Melee Pika by any chance? >>

Any slight chance just a tiny little bit maybe? <<
Unfortunately no, all I know about Melee Pika is Axe's combo video lol and the bit my friends play pika. Samus I know however...

yeah chibo most of the things u said I pretty much already do...god dammit I was hoping someone, somewhere would've mastered the art of getting on stage.

if anyone in the world thats reading this knows how to get onstage with ROB, let me know x.x

that is why I lose to mks and marths...if I could figure that out I really think I could start winning again

the coolest thing i've thought of that might work if I can find a time to start implementing it is ledgehop -> turnaround gyro...cuz like when you're backwards to people it scares them...and you could bair or just like fall and laugh at them if they shield expecting one...but idk it gets beat by fsmash (from mk or marth) just like nearly everything else

sometimes if I'm like around 85-90% I just let them hit me a bit so I can have my 100% get up attack, since it really does help that much.

I play a little Melee Pika, Sapphy, and I've been told I give decent advice.
I'll be sure to let you know if I ever manage to record a video of one of my matches.

That's weird...Sapphy, did I play you before? Over wi-fi, in the AIB free chat?
I don't have wifi. Those numbers in my postbit were made by me. ;p

Oh lol I got the spelling mixed up too XD There's a person named Saffy on AIB who's in the wi-fi room/chat a lot, lol.

I think this'll be my new home till the Olimar's get their act back together. ROB is fun...if only dair would actually hit...

Throw that P***y at me? B***h I think Im Babe Ruth
Oh yeah I'm reading these critiques :yeahboi:

Lol seriously though I wanted to try some new things to see where it'd get me (with both Marth/MK respectively)

Chibo you know I don't just fly off stage like that with Marth xD

I found some good stuff out while trying these things, and some eye openers of what I shouldn't go for offstage lol

The last stock on Frigate I just started to have fun with it (hence the down b)

Stingers I'd like to record some more matched so that you can get them critiqued and analyzed, because I can only give tips from an experienced PoV not really character-based.

Lawls, I see. XD Well, to remember, I always go by Sapphy or something with p's here. XD If anyone nicknames me Saffy here then that's an alternate nickname, but it wouldn't be coming directly from me. XD

Edit: I just realized I use "XD" too much. Lol

something i tend to do with rob to fall, jump and fire a laser/gyro onstage.
i know its situational but if you fire the gyro at the correct time on BF itll stop on the very tip of the plaqtform, you can then simply ledgejump (not sure of the proper name, the bit where you jsut press up from hanging on the ledge) and grab it instantly, and theres all the other things weve discussed about getting the gyro.
i reckon gyro is a great tool for getting back on. but its kinda ahrd to get it from being on the edg,e also theres the small factor that it could still be onstage.
a little trick which i used as ike (and can be improvised for r.o.b) is falling, jumping and airdodge onstage. because of how small ikes second jump is you have to jump as soon as you let go of the edge, but r.o.b jump is far bigger, so dropping for a small amount of time before jumping would make it so the peak of the jump is jsut above the height of the stage. probabl not the greatest option in the world, but its kind of as unexpected maneuver from r.o.b

This is one of your best options, every ROB should do this.

and as for retrieving the gyro, you dont have to fire it onto the platform, but you can jump from the ledge and fire it so it skids to a stop at the very edge of the stage. It can really help to fight off edgeguarders if they're not expecting it.

and what I've been working on recently is firing the gyro so it skids to a stop on ANY platform, as in using this as a method to get the gyro in hand in the middle of combat.

Alright so. School is picking up again, I'm getting tons of homework and I have a massive exam tomorrow (90 point "test" does not exist) so I will probably be inactive for a while again. I'm not sure for how long or when I'll be posting more again. Sorry guys. :(
