The bigger problem is that instead of creating a fair PR for this region of the MW, we've created one that is biased for Chicago players. Remember when this thing was updated and people were complaining that Purdue doesn't travel? When I brought up the point that nobody would complain if it was Chicago that wasn't traveling, some people were okay with that. I think that's a problem. And how could geographical boundaries include/exclude people it shouldn't?agreed, what is the bigger problem? it's better to do that than try to define some geougraphical boundaries which inevitably will include/exclude people that it shouldn't...
I agree!loll....i love you jason, but ive seen you post that too much(not understanding ur point)....why dont you just describe your point better -_-, if were ALL not getting it.
i get really irritated tho, when you guys wont stop your biweeklies and just john that why dont we schedule tournies around them(i assume this is what you would say) and wont call yours off -_-....i mean if u wanna get better....you gotta venture outta purdue more then 1 time every 2 months -_-.
edit: honestly, just change it back to chicago or IL -_- and just draft me to your state, chapelle show style!
Didn't you notice, he's a premium member!you insulted me bro, then act all "caaaalm down" when i respond, we've seen that done to 5150 too many times we're not gonna fall for it
i dont need to discuss anything really, i understand the rankings, my issue is that you think youre smarter than all of us
im done til a new issue pops up
I'm asking for clarity, be it in the form of geographical boundaries, the name of the PR, or the explanation of what it means to be a member of "Chicago-Land" in a Smash sense.
All I want.my understanding was that this list was simply based on who did well in chicagoland TOURNEYS, which happens to include some people from purdue. the actual residence of the players doesn't have much to do with it, right? if a purdue player showed up to every illinois tournament, then they should be included regardless of where they actually live. correct me if i'm wrong about this...
i mean, at least we're arguing about the criteria for the list, and not arguing about who should be on it. that would get really nasty lol.
LMAO Too funnyw/e, i still **** all of you in this game
one week of practice with kels and i'd tap everybody up in here!lol come back from korea so i can **** you
as a former chicago scrub, i fully endorse bigD's post. goods hitok i caved and came back to the thread
littleengland, dont feel like theres tension, im not mad or anything, i just really didnt think i had much else to talk about and felt like we would just be repeating ourselves. i dont have anything to resolve, i think the power rankings are almost perfectly accurate as they stand.
the issue with your help is that, especially in this case, you were not familiar with the situation, and it was you that did not understand the system in use for the power rankings. you posted, as you have in the past, with an air of condescension; acting as if you can tell us things about our community that we dont know when in fact you have only left purdue once since coming here and dont actually know much about anything else going on here. people contested what you said, and you argued despite the near universal acceptance of the system by people who have been to a majority of these tournaments. it would be stupid, for example, not to include dart because he goes to every chicago tournament, more than the radovitch bros even. he lives 3 hours away in peoria, but has provided ample data with which he can be ranked. why exclude him when he has made the effort?
the list should be biased towards chicago players, because, if you look at any and all regional tournaments in the past few months (michigan, hd remix, purdue tournaments, i think thats mostly it) they featured at least one car full of chicago smashers attending, and then no one from any of those other regions has traveled to chicago more than once (except for dart). despite all of this, the actual rankings on the list are not biased towards chicago, its simply the presence of chicago at tournaments that provides basis for comparison and therefore tournaments with chicago present deserve consideration for the list.
No, I will not "chat" with you...![]()
(anybody really)
