I'm looking for some ideas of places to go out to that are either free or cheap. Other than movies (and they're not that cheap anymore either) I can't really think of anything, which sucks when it comes to doing anything other than hanging around the house.

Back when I was in high school, I found myself in the same situation a lot, here are some suggestions:
1) If you have a park nearby, a picnic is usually a pretty awesome idea. I never found myself lacking in sandwich material. Of course, disregard this if it is winter wherever you are.
2) Second-act a play: At intermission during any plays, a bunch of people will come out to smoke various forms of plant. Calmly intermingle yourself and your date with them, and go see the rest of the show!
3) Mooch drinks: This one only works if you and/or your date are physically attractive. Go to a very popular drinking establishment, and hang out by the bar talking about how you forgot your wallet/purse. Eventually, people will buy you drinks and start talking to you.
4) Mooch quarters: Go to your local truck stop/arcade/sports areana where there is a DDR machine. Watch people play and compliament their skills, and ask them for a quarter to play with them. My friend and I used to do this for hours at a time.
5) Backdoor a movie: This only works if you have a two-story multiplex with an exit staircase. When a movie with a large turnout gets out, walk up the stairs while everyone else is exiting the theaters. Becaue the upstairs theater exits are usually not monitored, you will be able to gain access to any movie you wish, as many times as you wish.
6) Walk around a department store, preferably one with furniture. Around Detroit, where we have many great shopping centres, we had several where you could do this. Works best with a large, but not suspiciously large, group of people.
7) Form an a cappella group. Works wonders in backyards and basements.
8) One word: Karaoke.

Hope I helped!

WoW!

The great Mic doesn't get out much?

Well I don't know of many places to go that are 'cheap' but i could suggest you go to a department or electronic store and browse around, that's what I do anyway when I'm broke lol..

or, if you're looking for some entertainment, why not go to your local Arcade, they are usually located inside shopping malls, and the games won't cost you but a bunch of quarters which ain't that much, at least for me that is, plus there are bound to be great prizes.

I have the same problem, there isn't ish to do aren't any cheap/free places here in Auugsta.

Best thing I could suggest is an arcade to play old school games like skee ball and free throw basketball.

Well when ever I wanna go out and have no money I end up at the mall lol. I'm a mallrat.
It's awesome because a lot of people that I hang out with do the same so if I'm ever bored I end up at the mall AND BURN CALORIES BY WALKING SON!

Dammit, forgot to add "on a date" to it. We're in a period where we're both low on funds (during xmas? SUPRISE) and tired of just lazing around at each others houses.

You live in WA ergo you live in Perth (unless you're a miner which I know you're not). In which case you probably live near a beach right? If so go there now that we're heading into summer.

I don't know what to believe any more. Either Mic is lying or Cashed is and frankly I don't trust either.

If you're both into it, go on a bike ride through a nice place like along a river or beach. My better half and I do it frequently and it's great fun. I don't know what the wine scene is like over there, but if you're willing to spend a bit on petrol you could go wine tasting (again, if you're both into it). Most places do it for free (I've been to three where you've had to pay; two were in the Yarra Valley, the ****iest wine region I've been to, and the third provided customer service that was as fantastic as their wines), and even if they don't, it's like 2 dollars pp.

From comparing your location in the Perth Smash Thread and the locations of wineries in the Perth Hills wine region using Google Maps, it looks like there are a bunch of wineries within 25 km of you.

Man, I can so tell that Mic's next post is gonna be like "nah man don't like wine".

It's true. I don't live in WA, but I live in WA.

(WA is Washington State in the us, MiniMic)

And uh, neither of us drink, so...>.>

****ing knew it.

Well now you have that information handy for, uh, when you need to, uh, know the distance to the nearest winery.

That's useful, man. People break their port sippers every day. Of course, no one ever thinks it'll happen to them, but when it does they're devastated and clueless. It might not happen to you, but it could happen to your neighbour, your boss, even your parents. And when it does, you can be there for them. "It's OK! There's a winery less than 25 km east of here!", you say, and that person is sipping their port through the appropriate glass within two hours, all thanks to you and your knowledge of winery locations.

Anything outdoors, biking, hiking, that sort of thing. Being from the Pacific Northwest myself, I know there are great outdoor activities everywhere. Its never the wrong season to fly a kite on the coast (its always overcast and windy anyways). If it's not too far out of your budget, you may want to take advantage of the ski season.

Mic lives in the state WA, Western Australia, not WA, Washington.

Also, ski season? Cheap? AAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! THAT'S HILARIOUS!

It depends on what kind of lady your date is.
Is she outdoorsy? If she isn't, hiking/biking/moving might not be her thing.
If she is, go for it.

Things you can't go wrong with:

-Beach and/or Swimming
-Cheap Restaurant that ISN'T fast food.
-Bowling (fun, and they usually have some sort of snack bar or whatever)
-Movie (Around here we have a "cheap" theater that has movies that JUST came off the "main cycle" of movies in normal theaters)

Depending on the woman in question, going out for walks etc. is nice if she's into that. I've taking a girl on a nature walk near a river around dusk, and it's really nice, even if she's not into outdoorsy things. =3

That's the best I can think of. Movies are always aight, and they're relatively cheap depending on the cinema.

If all else fails, you could always get her into smash and bring her to a smashfest. lol.

if only you got a dollar for each post you made on smashboards you could take her around the world and back :p

Oh, and I always find Disc Golfing is a nice free way to spend around an hour and a half with someone, get some chinese food afterward (mmmm sweet and sour chicken, usually not expensive either), good time I assure you ;)

Before I get yelled at "IT'S TOO COLD OUT" you should try wearing a coat or three. Besides, being out in the cold can be nice because then you come back inside where it's warm and cuddle :3

step by step guide:
go to park on a nice day
hook up a microphone helmet to your head
attatch the microphone helmet to a max volume compact speaker under the bench
sit down on park bench
lay down and almost close your eyes
when a kid walks by, whisper "falcon" and than jump up and scream "PAWNCH!!!!"
intentionally miss the kid
run after him for a few seconds.
run away
repeat.
