You're going to have to wait until launch day. Sakurai didn't even say those are the characters he's picking, he just decided to post some of his favorite suggestions on the site. A full character list will probably not come out until AFTER launch, which is what happened with Melee.

Actually, Mario is a spinoff of DK.

I think Geno would just have the Mario symbol. But then again, I'd rather not have a character thats only appeared in one medium-sized hit Mario game as a secondary character.

Actually, he had a cameo in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. He did the instructions for a mini-game.

And come on. True, he only appeared in one game, but the game is tied for my favorite game of all time (With Zelda: Ocarina of Time), and he kicks complete *** in the game.

The post referring to a "Takao" on the SSBB suggestion feedback site is #34. I'm a Level 1 Japanese language scrub. However, the Kanji for the name Takao, according to Babelfish is "高生." [Shift-JIS your browser to see that, maybe.] Yet, also according to some kanji site I just looked up, that's the word "kousei," and can be read as "Takao." Kousei means a high school student. The translation of the first sentence I got from Excite Japan's engine was different.

"Nice to meet you when the 64th edition is put, Smabra is a high school girl who becomes eight years. "

I think the point of that entry was that the poster was in high school when she first played SSB, and she loved it. Not sure about the eight years bit, as it's only been seven years since SSB came out. She then goes on to talk about how she played Kirby until she learned about Marth and how she bought a Fire Emblem manga thanks to his Melee appearence, or something.

as of right now I think that the only characters on this list that will be in ssbb are either geno or (doubtfully) king k rool- prolly not gonna happen but he was the main boss in dk country so thats a good reason to put him in

I know I'm stubborn; but do you realize what the symbol means in Smash? Symbol (above other things)means winning music, and I can't associate Geno with Mario's Trumpet fanfare from Super Mario Bros.
I could for Toad, for example.
Geno should have his own symbol, therefore his own winning music. Period.

Birdo was a dumb part of the stage. She came on randomly and vomited eggs at you. The flying guy in that stage and the arwings in the star fox level were much better because you could jump on them and fight.
