Character Matchups & Strategies

Honestly, Pokemon Trainer would have been an excellent character if they hadn't put in so many lame downsides. I love the idea of a character with huge versatility; but then they went and threw in Stamina, made his switching animation ridiculously long, forced you to switch Pokemon every death, and didn't give him a nice way to pick which of the other two Pokemon you switch to.

It's really quite sad, because I think he's a super fun character to play =(

Also, Galax, why don't you just stick the two number systems in the same chart? Just have one numbering on top of the other and make the bubbles below the character a little bit bigger to accommodate for it. Would be much easier than making two charts, and then everyone would be happy.

There are "some" PT mains out there, but not enough for it to be a main concern on the chart. Thats what I was trying to say. D:

Yeah, I second PT, but I can never really win with him on higher levels of play. He's more for friendlies. :/

I cry a little whenever I see the matchup of pika vs wolf here, since I almost always lose to wolf players

Makes me feel like a failure lol

you can cg them with a dthrow then a fthrow. gets you a pretty good percentage chunk on them. like 54% if they do not use their reflector.

dthrow ends at 34 with a reflector. you can sheild grab it though at 34. then the mindgames beging. also fthrow with dthrow wave pivot grab works well on him.

I know both boards (or at least the Sonic boards, I am unsure of this place) have already discussed the matchup, and from what I got back then, it was pretty much undisputed what the matchup was and the not so important ratio that is somewhere between the 5:5 even line and at worst 6:4 Pikachu's advantage.

But now it's not too bad to review, is it?

Sheik is pretty dang easy to play against. Imo.

We can CG sheik down i think longer than we can fox, and she has less things against us. Fox can at least still dair combo and ****, sheik...has F-tilt, but its not that good when you learn to DI out of it.

I think it should be something like this gallax

Opponent (from best chance to worst)
Marth (whatever percentage is)
MK (whatever percentage is)
Whoever is next (Whatever % is)

and make it from in that order so ppl can see at first who is their hardest matchup, and make it go progressively easier. With this, we can mix in the chart we made to get the common MU like 40-60 and 60-40 in order.

well i dont care how people order it. ive already got something in mind which is similar to what you are saying.

but people need to post their thoughts by friday night or they wont be heard. if you dont post your opinion now then i am not going to listen to anyone complain. if you do post your opinion though, like cake already has, then you can spit out your conflicts with the chart when it is made.

I don't really know many match-ups for Pikachu that well =X All I ever really play against (who's strong) is Snake, and I think everyone is pretty much in agreement that Pikachu goes even with Snake.

Hey... I read the guide for Pika vs MK, and it was slightly helpful but I could tell both the guide and video were pretty outdated. Could anyone help me a little more with that matchup? Maybe write up a guide or link to some more recent videos that show Pikachu's good strategies against MK? He's pretty much the only character I have trouble with...
