Character Exploration Thread - Day 79: Axel Stone (Streets of Rage)

Does anyone have any ideas for a moveset they would like to share? I know Aloy has a ton of really interesting weapons that could lend itself well to a Smash moveset but I haven’t really sat down to flesh out any specifics for Aloy.

I haven't made a full moveset and probably won't have time to today, but I imagine she'd be a zoner with specials that set up various traps (tripwire downspecial?), neutrals that use her bow, and aerials/smash attacks using her spear for back-up-plan "Please get away from me" attacks.

And, yes, Horizon is a Sony IP. Aloy is not coming to Smash pragmatically lol.

I think Horizon is owned by Sony so it would be equivalent to Mario or Link getting a game on PlayStation.

well they fully abandoned the idea of a nintendo crossover from smash 4's dlc cycle so i dont suppose it matters

A lot of Horizon Zero Dawn's score is atmospheric, which is good, but perhaps not the best for this type of game. Honestly, even the more intense songs still tend to have slower builds then most gaming scores, so they would probably need a lot of remixes for a game like this...

Interesting question! I feel like I'd go with humans personally, but the robo-dinos are what the game is famous for, so it's hard to definitively say... It'd probably be easier to come up with a variety of mechanically-unique and interesting spirit battles for robots with defined fighting styles too...

Right below Nightmare and Agumon, Klonoa is my third most wanted Bamco character. I remember playing a good amount of Klonoa 2 as a little kid and while I wasn't very good at it I got charmed by the little cutie and the personality of the game.

Now, I've played some of the Wiimake and I really enjoy it. It makes me feel like a kid again and the level design is very inspired and creative. The mechanic of Klonoa grabbing enemies and throwing them underneath him to gain extra height would be funny to see in Smash. I think his moveset would be really unique and fun and he fits right in with the art style and wackiness of Smash perfectly.

I'm really hoping that we'll finally hear something about Klonoa: Encore soonish as it would be a great opportunity to bring him back and introduce him to a console (Switch) that he will be welcomed with open arms.

I've only known much about Klonoa from Caddicarus's videos. But I have run into some people rallying for support for Klonoa in Smash a few times, and the game itself looks really fun, if I'm being honest. He oddly looks like he wouldn't be out of place in a Sonic game, if I'm being honest.

So what would a potential Klonoa stage be and how would it work? From what I know from watching Caddy's vids, I imagine it being a scrolling/traveling stage, like 3D Land, where the camera pans as you fight and then travels to a different part of the level. Anyone else think that makes sense?

Admittedly, I'm not the best with Spirits, but going by the Wiki's front page, I'd say Lolo, Guntz, Ghadius, Huepow, and the King of Sorrow are good picks. Maybe throw in Joka as well, he's a pretty notable villain.

Klonoa's shtick is grabbing enemies and using the enemy as a projectile or an extra jump, so he'd probably end up as a lightweight grappler
