I think now we would be an excellent time to create the new thread, dont you? Or, if need be delayed, as soon as Zephy finishes the model. But personally, it would attract more people because they can see the pictures/video.

You can just change the External Graphic effect into a Nop, or reduce its size to 0. It'll be one of these:

0A LINK_BOOMERANG_W
0B LINK_BOOMERANG_H
0C LINK_BOOMERANG_WS

You can edit the commands by entering the offsets into PSA as if they were subroutines.

About the new thread, since Jack H seems to be back, I don't see the need for a new thread. I hope he'll update after the model in done, which shouldn't be too far from here.

Ha, MM is my favorite game too, best Zelda game IMO

And for the moment I guess we have enough Links, but if we get to add characters later on we'll NEVER have enough lol, nah but a cooler more accurate moveset for regular Link would be cool but I also understand your thinking and respect that, so keep up the good work on YL

One more thing, would Fierce Deity be Possible as a FS? I know it seems way too out there to ask but it would be awesome. Maybe someday a long time from now we'll have model hacking completed and could implement Zora, Deku, and Goron transformations into taunts with different movesets, yea but that's just wishful thinking, and assuming there won't be another SSB game.

One more thing, would it be possible to give YL a walljump or have his hookshot latch to walls, he had it in Melee

I implemented a pseudo walljump, when you press jump near a wall, you walljump. However, it never loses height and cannot be initialised with the control stick. (I still need to find a hit left/right on control stick.)


OMG! I just had an idea to implement it with control stick. It should work. I'll update the pac when I make it work. YAY!!!!

Ok sounds good, so I take it Hookshotting walls is impossible?

Also, yea I tested out the uptilt and BackAir again, try it on Falco in Brawl+, you'll see what I mean lol, he can't escape until well over 100%, it's that 2nd kick on the BackAir, it has a slight upwards KB, if it had no KB it would be fine

As for the uptilt, it just needs higher KBG, it needs to hit farther on earlier percentages, because it's way to spammy on characters with heavy gravity as it is now

okay, quick idea. once model hacking is fully possible...would you be able to rip the Razor sword model from the GC version of soul calibur two and replace the master sword with it?

Also, umm, well every time I use this PSA, my Wii freezes after the match I used him in, I've only used the sizemod one so far(one without codes)

@ Akuma: I have no idea what the problem is. You're the first ever to report it. I guess it has to do with something else than YLink or something on your SD that is incompatible with YLink.

FOOEY, and I planned on using this PSA for my 2nd Link .pac with Almas' clone engine, now I have to resort to just different costumes, I'll do a few more tests

But I've also confirmed that someone else's PSA(SHadow PSA over Sonic with new animations and such) makes it impossible for me to freeze levels with the L button using the code by PW, the level DOESN'T freeze, and my wii freezes after that match ends. What this means is something with changing animations may mess with other codes IDK.

The only thing I'm really concerned about is that ridiculous BackAir and Uptilt YL has, just try spamming it on Falco or Fox in Brawl+, you'll see how much **** it is

Back air and uptilt still pretty **** but if you say human DI can escape then, IDK wait for more comments, good job on removing the leaves from the boomerang though, looks great

Good results. Now comes the more difficult part, making the animations. But I'll work on that some tomorrow.

And then...a glitch that came with it. Dunno, but it looks cool. (D taunt)


As for Tatl, I believe the sparkle are an external graphic.

What article are you replacing with the bottle? I'd suggest pne of the clawshot's claw if possible as those are useless. If not, then the fairy? As much as I love Talt, maybe the milk taunt is more important.

And I don't know if the sparkles are a taunt, I thought so at first but couldn't find them in the OpenSA dump Eldiran linked to. Fairy is article 5 btw. Check if you want.

I'm replacing the boomerang's tornado with it. We don't have the clawshot claws anymore, those are now the hookshot tip.

I tested YL finally. I found him perfect, except that his fsmash is WAY too slow for the percents it kills. And the downtilt...is so spammy. I say make it have more cooldown but make the spike a lot stronger so that is pops them off the ground for more combos other than dtilt>dtilt>dtilt until they SDI. Btw, I never got to spike anyone with the dtilt XD. Oh and his usmash shouldnt kill EVER. But have mid knockback and set up for stuff in the air.

Honestly, last time I checked this thread was before you posted and I didn't bother reading any post after the update since I was in a hurry.

Fsmash, I believe, shouldn't be much faster. It is one of his most powrful attacks, and has a lot of range. YLink is more of a gimper. His kills should come from a good edgeguard or lot of damage racking. I feel the fsmash complements that style very well. Only useful if you have a opening.

Dtitl: I didn't want it to be like Link's. The way it works now, it is unique and escapable. I tested against human DI, it is impossible to infinite with dtilt. It's harder to spike with it in Brawl than it was in Melee, because opponents can grab the edge from farther away.

Usmash: It kills late enough. I admit it is stronger than in Melee, but keep in mind this isn't Melee. It kind of compensates for the combo happy utilt.

Wow, this is awsome :O One thing though, when i try to use the gct from the kittycorp link on the OP, i get a freeze at the stage select screen. Any ideas on what im doing wrong?

Try creating the GCT yourself with the code manager. Or if you don't want to bother with codes, use the size mod pac I uploaded at the top of the page. Link will be YLink size even though the model is a bit worse. The moveset is still the same if you use the size mod or not.

Thanks, got it working! Its great, but heres a few things i noticed:

is there any way to slow down the rapid jab animation? It seems a little crazy right now. Kudos for doing ylinks melee jab though!

I love the roll attack :3

Isnt infinite bunny hood a little broken? I like the idea but i think it should be more limited.

What do you have in mind for the FS?

And I was originally gonna say that his fthrow is too dam strong and kill in the 100%s, is this to Brawlify him from Melee to?

I don't know about changing utilt, maybe make it a bit stronger since it is a bit spammy. Usmash is a combo happy move until like 100%.

The infinite bunny hood is a placeholder until we figure out how to make it less efective. By that I mean make it removable anytime, and greatly reduce its boost.

What do you have in mind for the FS?

There were several ideas, some included arrow raining, light arrows, oni Link (Impossible), Romani Milk, and my favourite (Its my own idea, I'm humble like that lol): YLink calls help on the goddesses who each help him in their own way. When we are ready for a FS, a poll will be up or some kind of public decision will be taken.

I'd like to makle a changelist if enough people want it. The fthrow that kills was an idea from way back. It think it was TLMSheikah. The idea it to give him really good throws since: no other Link has good throws like that, a grab is hard to land, and it would promote his combos, which are core to his game. In a sense it is to Brawlify him, but also to diferentiate and add good moves to his arsenal. I may have gone a tiny bit overboard with the fthrow power, but I think its fine that way.

I like the fthrow being a kill move, or at least a strong move. The animation makes the move look like it's going to hurt. When it does some wimpy knockback and damage it ruins it.

Plus he needs a good kill throw if he's gonna have good throws.


Also I played YL today with my friend and he wants to ask for the dash attack combos to be made easier.

What do you mean "easier". Do you want the button press window to be larger, or the attacks to link better? If its the former, I see no problem to it. If its the latter, I think the attacks shouldn't be too easy to link together. Its already an excellent combo move, the stab and spin out of it are only alternatives if the simple roll doesn't make it.

And for the fthrow, is it too powerful? I think its fine as a kill move, YLink doesn't have a lot of KO moves. Most of his kills come from gimping and the like.

On a more serious note, has anyone else been getting a lot of crashes? I didn't get them until I switched to B+ 6.0 and the latest YL, but I keep getting the beep of death every few matches. It may not be YL, but the only other person I've used recently is Ganon, and it hasn't froze with him, and the character I play against is never the same when it freezes. Anyone else?

And yeah Tyerelyt I have been getting tons of crashes. DK loads up as well as Ganon, then they explode my wii. Wtf. I dont even have textures for those guys. Idk what I did or B+ did.

I never got a crash because of YLink, unless you count me doing coding errors. lol. But its been a lot of people who have reported it. I really have no idea why it would crash. Being a clone, the change from Link to YLink was fairly simple. Mostly some texture swap and hitbox properties. No major change or anything.

Did you try loading with ONLY the file patch code and YLink? I'm led to believe it is some other factor external or clashing with YLink.
