Man. I just tried taking the 7-21 Nightly and sticking in the Roy Frame Speed Mods (and taking out Marth's) without remembering that one can only have a limited number of them and...Well, the code doesn't simply tell you that there's too much code. You end up with 3x running momentum when you jump from a walk.

Just an fyi to anyone wanting to try the new Roy with proper Frame adjustments. You must delete other frame speed mods. >_>

Also, camelot, you're a beast.

Small update before I go to bed......

- Grab range slightly improved
- First slash of DED makes you "stall" in the air, more like in Melee. Using it at the peak of a jump gives a vertical boost.
- Counter starts later and ends earlier. (Starts on frame 6, ends on 26, rather than starting on 4 and ending on 29)
- I kept Flare Blade with the 3rd up hit of DED animation still, but I gave it hitboxes more like the f-smash. Meaning it hits in a wider area. (In case you can't tell, I really want to keep this animation and effect)

is there a way you can set the fit marth to jus 1 costume or to just a specific player slot like the model hacks do so we can use both characters?

This has been explained time and time again:

Almas is working on a clone engine that will allow Roy to be one of Marth's costumes, meaning all his grav, hitboxes, and so forth would be tied to one of Marth's costumes.

I like the f-smash animation too, but mostly just because it looks better, hahah.
if you rly want to keep it make it his aerial neutral B animation i wanna FSmash.
i think fsmash animation was good for grounded flareblade. 3rd up hit of DED would be fine for aerial flareblade. only thing is that the fsmash animation looks weird if you do anything quickly afterward. try holding sheild during the flareblade animation; roy still has his sword down from slashing and then all of the sudden is shielding? lol. it's all good, though.

also, taunts don't really matter at this point. -_- and recreating roy's melee taunt would be impossible at the moment, as afaik we cannot do custom animations. plus, his taunt was pretty complicated, what with the sword spinning and stuff. it'd be pretty easy to **** up and make it look like he was killing himself rofl.
I like Fsmash for neutral B.
Hows the over B height thing going?
Yeah, so basically I'm just reposting what people said about the fsmash animation lol. I think that people overwhelmingly want the fsmash animation for the grounded neutral b. As for the aerial (this is like for the third time I'm saying this lol), I would prefer fsmash, but other people are more open to the 3rd up hit DED instead.

Codes I am using in case some one needs them this should be a vBrawl set with Jump/gravity changes from Marth to Roy.
How do we adjust just the frame speed modifier and frame speed engine codes for brawl+?

This has been explained time and time again:

Almas is working on a clone engine that will allow Roy to be one of Marth's costumes, meaning all his grav, hitboxes, and so forth would be tied to one of Marth's costumes.
what was explained was an engine that would allow us to pick roy from the css using one of the alloys. im suggesting a temparary shortcut to tie roy to the controller port

OK, since so many people want Flare Blade to be the f-smash animation, I'll change it back and fix the effect for it.

How is the DED "stall" working? Do you guys find it useful?

Did you adjust the hex value of the first line, scrub? :p

Maybe I didn't. I just replaced the lines starting with 11 in the Frame Speed data. I don't know very much about hex at all. I thought your post said just to use those lines, but I'll check again.

...Could we also try the DB 4 Forward for Flare Blade? Someone mentioned it a while back, and it just got skipped over.

Blah. No, I didn't. I'm not entirely sure how to adjust it because I don't know hex.

I guess I could.
EDIT: Sweet. It doesn't even matter if you release the .pac with it. I just want it to at least be tested so we can get the better looking/more functional one, and DB4 sounded like it'd work. Just use whichever one works better. Thanks, man.

Count the number of lines in the code and then subtract 1. Multiply that number by 8. Oh ya, the convert it to hex.

eh, in DB 4 forward, roy jumps forward, though, and i personally don't really want that

I know as soon as model hacking becomes present, Roy's original hair will possibly come back, but are you planning on giving him his Melee voice clips?

Agreed.

I've decided to downgrade from v 5.0 to 4.2...5.0 isn't entirely compatible with custom .pac files yet, so blah. For testing purposes, I'd stick to either 4.1 or 4.2 right now till any updates come about for 5.0

@Camelot: Yeah, the DED stall is good..but it still has quite a bit of a forward boost most of the time. In melee, Roy didn't exactly have a forward or vertical boost on the move...it was more of a perfect aerial pause (if he wasn't already moving in a direction, of course lol).

This has been explained countless times, in this thread and others. At the moment, it is impossible to repackage the file that contains voice clips and sound effects, meaning it is impossible to import SFX from an outside source and put them in Brawl. Unless the SFX already exists on the disks, and Roy's voice doesn't, then we can't mess with it right now. The best we can do is alter his voice pitch to sound more like Roy's, which people don't really seem to be talking about much.

And the fact that raising his pitch would raise all other characters' voices as well. And trust me, Peach and Jigglypuff with an even higher than normal voice is NOT pretty.

with the code that made young link's voice higher, it made everyone else's voice higher as well.

and I meant lower for roy. X(

..Unless they edited that code for young link.
