Greensboro tournaments are a good idea. MK legal or not doesn't matter because NC players, regardless of their stance, usually go to both anyway.

Uhh... I've never hosted MK banned tournaments. I've hosted TGM 2 - 5, all have been MK legal.

Question for PR panelist members. How many singles tourneys do u need to enter to make it on the PR.

Also, we should seriously consider the dubs PR. Lets be a trend setta lol. We surprisingly have a good amount of static teams compared to other regions. Also, having a dubs PR will be a motivation for people to form teams and practice them.

me and scotty have teamed like 4 or 5 times but he has also teamed with brian a few times...

JD and kadaj are not static lol.... Jd teams with Tiger the most... Kadaj usually teams with pp or shady or pretty much *****s the best person he can get...

Uncle and kill are pretty static...


The way I would do a dubs PR is i would list single people and then who they usually team with or who they teamed with with a placement during that season... Base placings on results of the individual or just have a wise enough panel who can look at there team chemistry...

Seriously, though, I'd support a dubs PR if it encourages enough teams to form and stay that way. We could probably get over 10 teams in time and do a Top 5 PR.

5 teams = 10 people

That means it would be like a normal PR with 10 people ranked. It works, lol.

I honestly don't care if there's a dubz PR, but we don't want to try and set a trend because mekos wants dubs attention and then not have a full set of people.

I actually haven't teamed with Caitie that much. And me and Craig aren't static. So far this year I've teamed with ESAM twice, Craig twice, and Caitie once... I think that's how teams have gone with me so far this year.

Anyway it'd be nice but I don't see it working. You'd have to do either static teams only or decide to consider every team combination that happened. There aren't really enough static teams for the former, and doing the latter would be almost impossible for it to be objective since it'd be really difficult to objectively say which is better between say Mekos + ESAM or ESAM + me or ESAM + Kadaj, or for another example stingers + waldorf or stingers + V1CE

Waldorf that's more than other regions haha!! Most other regions only have like 1 or 2.
But waldorf yer right baby! That Dk and Rob would def get second!!! ;)

But seriously I feel this will motivate people to create static and semi-static teams.
Only static teams would be able to be on it. And static at the local level.

We have like... 5 static teams in NC. Making a PR out of a pool of 5 players/teams isn't worth it.

On the other hand, you could do something like at the start of a season, you're only allowed to team with a single person for that season. But that obviously comes with it's own set of problems.

It just doesn't seem doable.

But we can't always use it for exact seeding, which is what another main point of a PR is.

I'm torn

Doubles is always undervalued in smash and I'd like to see that change

but

logistically it's kind of silly to do this PR thing


@seeding: if teams became static as a result of a PR(or your attempts to create one) and you left it top 5, then it might work out since you'd only be truly seeding 5 pretty much always-static teams by PR. The only issue I see is when one person doesn't show up.

It could always just be left up to the TO how they wanna do it though. They don't have to fully seed by the PR if they think it's better to do it another way.

Hey Mekos.

Since the start of this PR season, I've teamed with ESAM the most out of anyone else in the state. In that sense we're more of a static team than you and him are LOL.

Don't use it for seeding then. It's just for recognition. If this starts a trend and other states do it. Then it could be used for seeding. Seeding even at the national level. Believe in yerself Arch!!

By the way shout outs to Arch for making it so that NC has a legit recording setup.

But at the same time it will fail to recognize players who are obviously skilled and have results in doubles but who don't have a static team, such as me and Craig.

That list actually looks good, Steve. I can't really think of anyone else who would belong on the list. I could argue the ordering of 5-8 differently, but other than that, it's solid.

Honestly I like the way Steve did it. That makes the most sense since you can't go by who beat who since the teams themselves are hard to rank, but placings are pretty indicative.

Just for fun (and perhaps knowledge), I'll look at Steve's list in terms of average placement.

ESAM: 1

Mekos: 1

Kadaj: 2

Stingers: 2.25

Waldorf: 2

V1CE: 3

Archer: 3.25 (2.8 with Georgia tourney)

Shady: 2.5

PP: 3.5

Scotty O.B.: 4

Obviously, rankings should never be determined by stuff like averages alone, because getting 1st place in four tourneys is more impressive than getting 1st place in one tourney, for example. Consistency matters too.
