Do Lucas players play differently? I thought their game consisted of lots of Neutral-B. Then again, I only know of a few Lucas players, let alone any top level ones. lol

I don't think there are many German Yoshi players, if you want someone outside US just watch Zudenka, he's boss.

Marly that how i play and dair. I also, utilize perfect spacing and reading. I also, play a bait and punish, and shield pressure game.

Other lucases surprising don't utilize those moves that much. For example, Pink fresh approaches with fair and goes for alot of grabs and up airs. Fae is all about c-sticking and zap going crazy everywhere.

The simple fact that I "snake"...makes my lucas so much harder to approach and hit than the others. Every other top level player tells me this such as Nairo.
He plays like mine a couple of months ago. Real defensive. I like that and think that is a better playstyle than the other US lucases. But once I implemented snaking and a few other techniques it has allowed me to play a more pressure based game that actually works.

Mekos, the problem with Snaking is that after a certain point, people KNOW you won't throw an aerial since using any of them would result in you having lag. People can throw out moves/dash in when they realize this. I mean, I haven't played you recently, but you never really mixed up the situations where you normally snake with like...falling fair. You need a mix-up to keep people scared, otherwise they just look at your height and go "Ok, he won't attack until he lands" and go in. I mean...normally you aren't doing it that close so that problem seems to be nullified (You would be nairing people if they were close enough to punish you in the scheme of 10 frames or so) so...yeah. Just make sure to react to people dashing in with fair or like....pull back pivot grab.

yea u got it! That's what I do. And that is why currently I am struggling with snake. Because some of his moves can punish my spacing when I snake. It is such a hard guessing game for me because I can't afford to trade.

About the landing thing. I am working on that. I actually do land sometimes with fair. It's all about mixups tho like u said because if my opponent guesses right what to do I will get punished. Because lucas' attacks have such low priority and most moves go through it. It sucks even a grab can go through many of my moves such as ftilt. During the match with kingtoon's kirby the commentatory didn't know what he was talking about and said I was getting grabbed cuz kingtoon was mixing things up. He wasn't at all. I got grabbed whenever my spacing was off when I tried to attack with a ftilt and he would grab after he blocked or grabbed through my ftilt

Even my dair my strongest regular attack gets beat out alot. My moves just have good stun time and shield pressure so I utilize that component to have a good pressure game.

But I mainly use snaking to increase my speed. For example, in the dubs I was able to clutch almost every situation because I got there faster and whipped out my move faster than what a normal lucas could do. It's funny, I never meant for it to scare people but everyone tells me it does. Like, I've never been on the other end.
Alot of players go in with set setups and see if it will work. I have set ups for baiting and I react based on what the opponent does. It might just look like I'm doing the same thing and it might get easy to read but I change up based on what my opponent does. It is hard for me explain, but it is such a mental thing

well it decreases the time you're invincible while in the air, and extends your hurtbox out towards your opponent.

Normal landings have either 2 frames of lag (soft landing, which is just landing without fastfall) or 4 frames of lag (If you are fastfalling or you air-dodge). When you land with a Zair (Which is what snaking does) you have 0 frames of lag, so you are technically faster than if you just air dodged or SH'd.

That's not true unless Lucas' zair is different from other characters' zairs. Toon Link's zair, for example, cancels into normal landing lag (2 or 4 frames depending on whether he was FFing or not).
