If you're mashing out it's because the other player isn't reacting fast enough for the next grab because how fast you've mashed out. But I'll double check in frame advance sometime soon to make sure.
BTW, it feels faster because
A) You're adding an extra input
B) You're adding extra buffer frames so you can get a more accurate buffer.
B is actually very valid in terms of making your actions faster, seeing as you can buffer a jab 99% of the time instead of 70ish. That's probably why you feel it's faster. But it *technically* doesn't have any advantage over non-snaking.
But snaking also rocks because it IS a mix-up. It looks a lot like fair and baits pretty darn well.
