What would you guys say is a really good setup for free-for-all?

ACR w/ silencer
PP2000 w/ silencer (I suppose g18 w/ silencer works too, but I prefer PP2k)

Claymore
Flash/Stun (doesn't really matter)

Scavenger Pro
Stopping Power Pro
Ninja Pro

UAV/Predator/Harrier (you can change it up I guess, maybe throw in a Pave Low)

Trust me, this class is wonderful. My friend and I both use this class for FFA and rarely lose. Put a claymore somewhere, kill someone with ACR (and don't appear on radar), take their Scavenger pack and put a Claymore somewhere else.

I like to be pretty campy with this method, but I still win even if I move around everywhere randomly placing Claymores after picking it up from dead bodies.

Why stopping power and not cold blooded?

You can't go wrong with either of them, but they're for different play styles.

-If you like to run and gun a lot (and if you get into constant 1 on 1 firefight moments) then you need SP
-If you plan on playing sneakier/campier then you need CB

I just think that ACR is too weak without Stopping Power, especially with the silencer which makes it do the weaker damage at shorter range.

Like every gun has 2 damage numbers, for example Scar is 40/30. 40 from close range, and 30 from further range, let's say 100 yards (not actually true). And everyone has 100 health, 300 with Painkiller.

So the silencer just makes the Scar do 30 damage at 60 yards instead of 100 yards (again, fake numbers).

Stopping Power multiplies the damage by 1.4, I believe.

I actually thought that made a good amount of sense there Stephen...Did I mention I love the UMP now? I see why everyone uses it. It's amazing as long as you throw a silencer on it.

I prefer it with Rapid Fire tbqh.

Adding onto everything Cyan said, there's hardly any UAVs or air support in Free For All because people die so often.

I'm currently using the UMP.

Gotta say, it's got excellent accuracy even with Rapid Fire. I can manage it at a distance, unlike the MP5K. I actually forgot I had it on for a while.

So, could some people give me some opinions on what they are the best guns in each category (i.e. assault rifles, submachine guns, light machine guns, shotguns, rocket launchers, pistols, etc.)?

Best Assault Rifles.

M16, ACR, FAMAS, SCAR-H, TAR-21, AK-47.

Everything here is amazing excluding the F2000 and FAL.

Best Subs.

UMP45, P90, Vector.

In that order. The other two aren't nearly as good as these but Fall on the MP5k looks too good.

Best LMGs

AUG HBAR, MG4, RPD

Standard stuff here.

Best Snipers.

Intervention and Barrett.

Best Riot Shield.

Riot Shield.

Best shotguns.

They're all good. SPAS and AA-12 especially.

Best handguns.

USP. 45 and .44 Man Gum.

Best launchers.

Stinger, RPG.

Best Machine Pistols.

PP2000, Akimbo G18s.

Im definitely going to have to RPD above the MG4. RPD gets pretty good with grip and steady aim and you dont need any sights on it.

I honestly don't like any LMG's in this game. There's just a lot better alternatives in my opinion. Only one I would use would be the Aug H-bar.

All LMGs get good with a grip and iron sights are subjective.

Some stuff on his list is debatable. EBR is probably one of the best Snipers. Everyone is entitled to their opinions though. F8AL, what's your list?

Subs: UMP45, Vector

LMG's: Aug Hbar, RPD

Snipers: Intervention, EBR, .50 Cal

Riot Shield: Riot Shield

Lawn Chairs: Stinger, RPG, Javelin

Handguns: Magnum, M9

Machine Pistols: Raffica, PP2K

Shotguns: AA-12, Rangers

I disagree, the Scar is great, it's fire rate may not be high, but it can get a kill fairly quickly. I agree with you about the Spas-12 though, I don't like it, I took a shot with it close range against someone and it didn't even kill him, and since it's pump-action, well yeah I died.

Just found out today it only take 2 shots with the usp .45 to kill someone, not a whole clip with r being pressed as fast as possible.

There's a clear difference between an opinion and cold, hard facts. You are simply wrong. The SCAR-H is an awesome weapon. (especially with a silencer)

So? The LMGs reloading is slow but that doesn't make them bad. =/

Although I do agree that other weapons are better than SCAR, it's still a great weapon, especially considering you get it at level 8 or 9.

Hmm...I guess so. I haven't experimented much with it.

SCAR is decent at best. Slow reload+Relatively small clip makes for bad weapon.

Pfft. The SCAR is overrated. It's all about the FAMAS or TAR-21.

I prefer the SPAS over that stupid AA-12. I hate that shotgun more than the 1887's. An automatic shotgun is a stupid idea. Much less a shotgun with a silencer (lolwut?)

I love the SCAR but lets face it, burst guns (FAMAS and M16) rule the MW2 scene. Also AA-12 > SPAS, just my opinion.
