Hardest Bosses? From my experience I'd say probably X3 Sigma. I don't know why, but I just can't stand fighting that guy. Somehow I managed to beat him despite not having the Z-Saber. X1 Sigma isn't too bad until you get to the very last form, then he's pretty tough.

Shadow Devil gave me some trouble, but with enough practice I could take him on without too much trouble. Managed to beat him with only needing one Sub-Tank.

As for the Classic games, I was annoyed by Airman and Quickman a few times. Tomahawkman is the only MM6 Robot Master I feel like I have any serious time fighting against. Dynamo Man in Mega Man Bass is a huge douche. Seeing as he can heal himself easily. King's Plane form is unrelentingly annoying too.

Stuff that i read but i am too dumb to know how to put it in a "Spoiler" XD
Yeah man, the nerves!

I just couldn't help it, like i said there wasn't a lot of people watching, i didn't even bring my friends with me to say that i was nervous to impress then or something, i just kept shaking like a rumble pak for no good reason.

In my case, i am usually moving a lot and using everthing i have while keeping away from my opponent, but that day, no:

Throwing projectiles in a straight line, "standing-in-the-ground-like-a-statue-mode", engage.

Well if you have the same problem as me about actually talking to other people , maybe getting over that is related to not get so nervous. We should work on that too.

Good luck on your next tournament!

So I won a small online tourney and got a 10$ Nintendo e-shop card. I'm thinking between two games : MMBN3 (White) and Mega Man & Bass. Which one should I get? :3 I've owned BN3 (Blue) but I was never able to get all the chips cause of no one having white, and I've never played Mega Man and Bass before, but it looks pretty decent. Any thoughts?

Spoilers are done by doing spoiler (text here) /spoiler with brackets over both the spoiler text like this [ ]. On the other hand dude I completely feel you, barely any people was watching me either (at my second tournament) but I was shaking like crazy. I think my nerves comes from the fact that I expect a lot of the player and I think I respect them too much. Not saying you should ever disrespect a player too but there should be a equilibrium between the two. There's also the fact that I want to live up to my own expectations (not really my friends or whatever). I've practiced a lot for that tournament so I expect myself to do good but in the end I just screw myself over when I make minor mistakes and I go heavily on tilt.

Really it was the same for me too, I went against this Link who in my opinion wasn't really that great. The Link's pattern was stand on other side of stage, use arrows / boomerang / bomb to keep me away and when I got close then he'd roll away or do a d-smash or both. I have nothing at all wrong with this play-style, you play whatever gets you to win but I was mad at myself. I just stood there throwing out MB / CB / Pellets to cancel out his projectiles instead of doing forward tilts or jumping over his projectiles. I actually did learn his pattern because I'd parry the other projectiles, run up, shield the down-smash or get ready for a pivot grab if he rolled, and I destroyed him in close combat. This guy clearly has no experience in playing aggressively and it was obvious he has only played against casuals to where this strategy would work. My problem was that I was scared to attempt it again, I respected him to much and thought,"W-what if he adapted? What if it doesn't work again?" and etc. and he was able to beat me with the same exact thing.

Anyhow I do hope I break out of my shell and talk to more people, and also getting over my tournament nerves. It's something I just need to work on as a person really. I wish the best of luck to the both of us in the future! :^) Also sorry on the wall of text hehe

Congrats. Well, if i were you and had played BN3 to the end before, i would go with Mega Man & Bass. While i still think that game tests your patience more than it should sometimes, i played it a lot and came out liking it, especially playing with Bass. Just my two cents.

Earlier today I managed to shoryu a Captain Falcon out of his Falcon Kick for a KO. I'm pretty sure that Mega Man still got lit on fire but took no damage due to the invincibility frames. So freakin' metal.

Shoryu kills are always satisfying, but KOing someone who is in the middle of an attack feels so good.

I've been getting in some minor practice lately. I find that I can do decently against Villager players and Diddy Kong, who was recently nerfed. But I'm still out of practice on the whole.

I know that against Falco/Fox players it's best to use Crash Bombs when they want to spam Lasers. But I think they might be too fast for me at the moment.

Been playing online with a few friends of mine playing around in the lab trying to find some potential good uses for Hyper Bomb, saving replays of them on my cousin's 3DS that i borrowed , and I wanted to bring them to the video thread here . Shortly after, my mom gave back my 3DS XL ( which has been confiscated for quite awhile) surprisingly and 2 nights ago she got angry with me for something and confiscated my cousin's with all the replays on it. I still get to keep my 3DS XL but all that hard work i made before is gone and i have to start all over! Got too much work to deal with this weekend and I don't have time to reamake them.

*sighs* This..... sucks:glare:

Just read the latest summary of Archie Comics. Definitely a major issue for the storyline.

Half of the MM2/3 RMs decide to re-purpose themselves, while the others become the first exhibits for the new RM Museum. While Dr. Wily meets with Mr. X, who pretty much seems to be Xander Payne after some sort of time/space mix up (not confirmed, but heavily hinted at/pretty obvious), and who wants Wily to destroy people's interest in robots by creating more Robot Masters/chaos.

Not sure how this will play out into the rest of the series, especially Mr. X being his own character and his interest in preventing the MMX storyline through the use of Wily and his RMs.

Given the story of MMII is next, it'll be interesting to see how Xander Payne becomes Mr. X (is from the future, similar to how Wily reprograms future MM into Enker?) and how all of this will tie into MM4-6 and MMX itself. Mr. X says he wants Wily to create a "monster" so maybe this will tie into the creation of Bass or, more likely, Zero.

I don't read comics but I hear Archie is great with Sonic and Mega Man, would prefer Mega Man as that franchise doesn't have 50+ OCs. Got to read Worlds Colide online, the Shadow Man gig was cool
Yeah, ignoring the awkwardness of the Sonic fanbase and character designs, it's tough to get into that series as it doesn't follow the games, is a mess of storyline to follow (the comic/storyline reset itself again after World's Collide), and most characters are original creations. Not saying it's bad, but it has a more niche audience IMO. Right now it's doing the story of Sonic Unleashed.

Mega Man primarily follows the games and there are only about 5~7 original characters who you have to know on occasion for connecting storyarcs. If you know the story of MM1-10, it's hard to get lost. I think it's getting obvious that a MMX comic will be announced soon. Right now it just finished up the story of MM3, and according to the authors, MMII (from the Gameboy series) is next after World's Unite.

It sucks how I have no way of reading the comics, Tvtropes also told me about some humorous moments involving Crash Man and Top Man

I've found a couple people who record and upload them to Youtube from Online Comic reader apps. Probably harder to find the older issues, but recent issues shouldn't be hard to find.

So question, I'm wondering if to pick up Mega as a "specialist" to deal with defensive or baiting players, as I'm usually rather aggressive player, but keep having to deal with people using it against me overall (like, not by learning me out, but just overall baiting an attack and playing according when I try whiff it, and mostly want me to concentrate on their defensive options as the real opponent).

Mega has plenty poking mid-range projectiles and some disjointed attacks that hit hard when applied well, which let me play safer and not have to commit getting close to opponents to deal damage - so far it has kept throwing people off as I can't be aggressive as Mega, more like reactionary and spacing as Mega to do well.

I think he'd do well as a secondary, but question is, can I pick him this way, or should I just learn to deal with baiting players better? I usually attempt latter with varying degree of success, but it keeps being unsafe, risky and overall not fun to play.

Also, have read hella loads of Archie Megas. Sometimes I post scans on Tumblr. Sweet, sweet stuff. Archie really knows how to handle the series as of late.

I've been playing through Mega Man X6 recently. From my impressions, it's not as good as the other 5 games, but it hasn't done anything too irritating to me. But there's a couple of bad design choices for sure, at least compared to the others. That said, I'm not done yet and High Max is a douche.

Blaze Heatnix's stage isn't as annoying as others make it out to be, at least when playing as MMX himself. The soundtrack is probably one of the best in the series, I find it better than the other PS1 MMX games so far. Though I do like Mega Man's theme from X4 quite a bit.

The weapons are okay. So far the Yammark Option and Magma Blade are my favorite weapons. They are pretty damn useful. The other ones aren't bad exactly, but they are kind of slow.

High Max is a massive douche in X6 given how frequently he's encountered.

Though he's nothing compared to the douchery of Gate and the Nightmare Mother.

And ironically,
Hobo Sigma is easier than all of them.

You'll hate the Nightmare versions of stages soon enough, trust me.

I heard those bosses are hard. So I'll have to be careful. Still, I need a good strategy for High Max. I've still got Infinity Mijillion and Metal Shark Player left to deal with.

Honestly, while it's not as good as the other Mega Man X games, I've still had some fun with X6. And don't worry, I know about hobo Sigma. Though I feel he's an unneeded boss, just because he has so little to do with the plot and Gate is a serviceable villain.

ClementJ642 has a strategy for High Max, for both Zero/X in his playthrough of X6. I don't remember what part it was, but it's harder with Zero than X in his opinion.

Sigma was going to hijack the plot anyway. He always does. Though after X8, it remains to be seen what will happen in a potential X9.

If you guys could recommend any megaman game which one would it be? I want to get some more of those retro games, but I can't decide which one to get... the only megaman games I've played are the battle network ones...

2 and 10 are my recommendations, 2 is pretty easy with the Non Japanese difficulty, 10 lets you choose it. 9 laughs at the idea of decent challenge so it throws cheap deaths iirc

I'm already on the Nightmare stages. The first boss wasn't too hard with the Shadow Armor, but it took a couple tries. Luckily the Giga Attack is pretty strong. That said the second stage is pretty hard. I might have to use the Shadow Armor again for all those damn spikes.

I beat Dynamo in most of the stages with X, and won one fight with Zero. Do you get something from beating him?

You get loads of Nightmare Souls by beating Dynamo.

You can farm him, really.

Right. But Mega Man's already at GA rank and Zero's at SA(despite the fact I don't even use him much). So would I need to keep farming to be able to equip more items? Because I can only get 3 on Mega Man and I was trying to figure out how to get all five slots usable.

I guess I'll have to keep grinding more Nightmare enemies until I have enough then.

Zero kind of starts at SA by default, though. He's always been high ranking.

I think that item using also equates to how many Reploids you saved, but I haven't played X6 in quite some time, so I don't remember properly. More Nightmare Souls do give you that special cutscene if you have 4000 before defeating 4 Mavericks, though.

In this game Zero starts at D rank, but he levels up a bit faster than MMX I think. Probably because he needs to be unlocked with some progress made in the game. I didn't know about that cutscene though.

I managed to beat the second Gate stage and get Mega Man up to PA rank, he's at more than 6000 of those Nightmare Souls. I think collecting NMS and saving Reploids both count towards your rank. I did manage to save nearly all of them though, like 125 of the 128 available.

I'd get mega man and bass, it's hard as balls, but once you get used to it it has really good replay value like the other entries, if not more so because of the collectables and the ability to play different characters.

My "not playing a game" misinformation strikes again.

Said cutscene for X and for Zero. It's just an infodump. And my misinformation strikes again, it was 3000 Souls.

Yeah, I might be missing one, but I've got all of the good ones. I might try to get the maximum rank so I can make MMX nearly broken. Seriously, Speed Shot plus Rapid 5 is a good combo. Not sure if I'll go for the Jump or Dash upgrade. Or the Attack boost. I'll have to mess around with it.

I've yet to start playing a Mega Man game at this point mainly because other games keep getting in the way, like Smash Bros., and I've been busy with work.

Is there any good handheld Mega Man games y'all would recommend?

Depends on your console.

Maverick Hunter X is a surefire recommendation from me if you have a PSP. Powered Up is meh, honestly.

I haven't been following the series on 3DS so I'm unaware of any possible titles released for it(though I'm pretty sure there aren't).

Well the 3DS E-Shop has all the 6 NES Mega Man games. It also has Mega Man Xtreme 1 and 2. And the Gameboy Mega Man games, but I would only get the 5th Gameboy game, as it has all of it's own bosses and weapons.

Most people would start with 2 or 3. They considered the best of the series. I'm personally fond of Mega Man 6 myself.

If we're talking hard copies of games. There's the Mega Man Battle Network series and Mega Man Zero series on GBA. There's also The Star Force and ZX series on the DS, both of which are successors to those GBA games.

I've yet to start playing a Mega Man game at this point mainly because other games keep getting in the way, like Smash Bros., and I've been busy with work.

Is there any good handheld Mega Man games y'all would recommend?
Well when you mention handheld Mega Man games, personally I'd recommend:

- Mega Man V
- Mega Man Xtreme 2
- Mega Man and Bass
- Any of the Mega Man Zero Games (start with the first because of the plot)
- Only played the first one, but the Battle Network Series (though it's an RPG and completely different from the others)

I finished X6. A pretty decent game overall, but not as good as the other games I suppose. Though I'm going through with the Ultimate Armor and trying to beat it without unlocking Zero.

If I ever get to play the other MMX games, I'm going right to Mega Man X8. I already know X7 is hot garbage. I did play Command Mission though, I liked it though it's an RPG, so it's not too comparable to the rest of the Mega Man X games.

IDK I've heard some people like X7 compared to X6. X8, bar the on-rail sections, is pretty awesome.

If I had to choose at gunpoint to be forced to play X6 or X7, I'd most certainly play X6. For all it's flaws, X6 isn't hindered by a subpar transition to 3D, ear-grating voice acting(BURNBURNBURNTOTHEGROUND) and LONG LOAD TIMES.

First part of World's Unite has been leaked to Youtube. Sigma is looking pretty evil now that he's taken over the Eggman Empire and can control Time/Space, and Eggman/Wily continue to work well together.

Sigma's going in like a boss, huh? Well, that's to be expected. It'd be cool if somehow, by the end of the event, it's actually the original Mega Man that beats Sigma. Though it'll likely be a team effort of some kind.
