Congrats Nintendo indeed.

I am concerned though. I'm round the 40 star mark. Does the game get any harder? There hasn't been anything very challenging at the moment.

Some of the stars do get quite diabolical. I haven't run into anything that will send you into a homicidal rampage, but there have been several that have taken many tries. So far I've successful won each star I've tried to get, with one exception (the Bouldergeist Daredevil one.. I only had a few lives at the time so I had to go try something else).

There's no doubt that when Brawl comes out I'll play it 12 hours straight.

...in fact, I plan to play Brawl for a couple of days on end. No joke. Smashmas, is what I call it.

I wasn't expecting it to be hard to be honest. SM64 / Sunshine weren't hard. Just was wondering if there was anything really challenging.

I have to mention again how the graphics are ridiculously incredible. The fluffiness is unbelievable. Bowser has never looked so amazing.

galaxy is great but i believe brawl will beat it..When galaxy is completed it is completed.brawl may get completed but it has a larger life span than galaxy...

I don't think anyone is disputing that, but that does not make it an objectively "better" game. By your logic, Goldeneye was a superior game to Super Mario 64 or Ocarina of Time. Multiplayer games have more replay value just by their nature.

Can it really top Galaxy? I've been to IGN and Gamespot and their reviews about Galaxy says that it is one of the best and an instant classic. They nearly gave it a perfect 10/10. Can Sakurai actually find a way to atleast stand aside Galaxy in success or even surpass it? This could be the new beginning of Nintendo as we speak. You thoughts?
well brawl has the multiplayer factor over galaxy which will make it last much much longer.

But really who cares? They are for the same system and by the same company. We get both so does it matter which is better (in reviews) if both are amazing?

It's like xbox fans, I go to xbox forums and it amazes me that the console wars going on within those are often civil wars, people arguing about why Halo 3 is awesome and gears of war is trash. I don't get why they don't just enjoy all their good games.

I'm just trying to get some good discussion the best of the Wii games. It seems to have grown into a good one too.

LOL only 25 stars through. Doing only 2-3 stars a day is tough, but my plan to ease the wait is working.

True we haven't heard all of Brawl's music yet but I can def. say that Galaxy's is plain better. If Brawl has more orchestrations, then we'll see. Until then, the barrage of synthesized is just not going to cut it.

In terms of critical acclaim, I seriously doubt that Brawl will stand up to Galaxy (or that any game will, for a long time, heh), but in terms of being just plain fun for people who like that type of game, it's definitely on the same wavelength as Galaxy. Melee wasn't so highly reviewed either, probably in large part because of how unconventional a fighter it is.

They both seem to be (IMO of course) written and presented as grand finales...Galaxy has just about every good aspect of Mario platforming, and Brawl is full of features and looks to include every Nintendo character ever made in some capacity.

Galaxy's does have awesome everything, but that music stands out especially as we don't hear that kind of orchestration on most Nintendo games. Granted they always make good music, Galaxy is especially awesome, I gotta say.
Bowser's
theme is so very epic, along with the Super Mario 64 remastering of the level before the fight. But really now, just about all of the music is epic sounding and awesome. I'm really glad they went all out with this game.

Some of the music in Brawl seems to be compy-music, but it's really slick I gotta say, and fits their moods. It's not like it's all going to be like that, I mean, the main theme is orchastrated, even with Latin lyrics from what we can tell. We also have Ashley's theme, while not orchestrated, does share MP3 qualities for the very fact that there is singing. So I don't think it will all be MIDI, but that's not detracting me from liking the music anyways. We'll get our share of orchestrated music.

Comparing a game that isn't even out yet VS a game that's already out?

Ehh..How does that work? How can you compare a game you've never touched vs a game you have already played? Of course, anyone who owns Galaxy will say "galaxy is better", and everyone who doesn't have galaxy, will say " brawl is better".

I'm not making comparisons until brawl is released. Even then, galaxy isn't a fighter type of game. I can't really compare two different genres. But, as for as the amount to replay the game, I say Brawl wins. Melee had thousands of people still playing it 6 years after it's release, and im sure brawl will be the same. It's an on-going thing.

I don't own galaxy, so I'm obviously going to say Brawl is better.
But at the this time, if I did have galaxy, i'd say galaxy was better, simply because I have it and haven't seen a full version of brawl.

You can compare music because so far...Galaxy's music is better than Brawl's...

Galaxy has old skool(Sweet Sweet Galaxy) music and new school(Gusty Garden Galaxy) music. I mean yeah Brawl has good music in it too but it's not better than Galaxy's. I'm only comparing the music....

This thread stopped trying to compare them and just turned into a discussion of Galaxy's awesomeness.

74 stars through.

I haven't heard any of galaxies music, so I can't really judge on music.

But im sure Brawl will have some good music. Having over 20 + famous composers, I'm sure there will be atleast 10 songs that will be unforgettable...or downloadable for my ipod :p

I just wanted to say that I was throughly unimpressed with Galaxy. It's a great game and all, but I think I'm just getting old. It is also bullcrap that you have to beat the game before you can get 120 stars.

I was beginning to feel underwhelmed then realised that I shouldn't be so critical and just enjoy it. Then I appreciated how good it really is. Each to his own though...

I think not, because Nintendo was selling galaxy to gamers on the fact that it's a great game, aswell as kids who need christmas presents, and kids who need christmas presents that aren't violent. Smash is selling on that it's a good game, and maybe it's online play. With the majority of people looking at only these factors, Brawl is incredibly unlikely to surpass brawl, unless it's single player is incredibly amazing and it's pushed back to november '08 sometime. (let's hope not)
