I didn't think any of the motion control stars were very difficult so far. I can tell the speed challenges will get tough later on, tho.

I'll get all 121 stars of course, but I'm going to take my time with this one...it'll make the wait for Smash go by faster.

i got it the day it came out, beat it with all 121 stars the next, then pitched it to play better games that didn't feel like ****. this games is another easy piece of crap by nintendo
You're entitled to your opinion. Just know that you're in the insanely large minority. In fact, you're the only person I've seen with that opinion so far.

Sounds to me like you didn't even try to enjoy it, seeing as how you went through the whole game in one day. You sound kind of biased as well. But ok.

Anyway, I've got about 23 stars or so. Not exactly sure. The galaxies aren't really hard. They're just rather challenging, when you're trying to get every single thing.

lol what a liar

You didn't get all 121 stars....and they aren't targeting hardcore gamers or else this would be um hard right?

Oh and do you think the subspace emissary is going to be hard?....no

You can only beat the game with 120 stars, then
you have th play the game again with Luigi and collect all the 120 stars, after that a secret galaxy appears and THEN you get the 121th star.

what a lair. :ohwell:

Whoa, I just ran into one of the more hardcore stars that I've seen so far,
"Luigi's Purple Coins" in the Toy Time Galaxy
. That sucker was brutal, but I got it. 71 stars now.

And ROFL @ Blazer

LOLOLOLOLOLOL school. Those days are gone like an unwanted pregnancy on prom night for me. All I've got right now is work, and when your job is something you really like it doesn't drag.

I got it today.... and I just have to say TRANSFOOOOOOOORMMM.

LOL The first time I saw that I lol'd.

Anyway this game is unbelievably beautiful. The soundtrack is immense. The gameplay gorgeous.

16 Stars.
The Queen Bee is so furry I tried stroking her. Ray is slightly difficult to control. Rosalina is a loser lol. Bowser is unbelievably pimp. His throws (or whatever they are) in Brawl look like they came from Galaxy.

The area before you face Bowser reminded me so much of SM64. Those areas were a favourite part of the game for me ... great memories. Galaxy is very much in the spirit of SM64.

I like those stages with the moving floors with holes in them though, like the ones in Sunshine... that was a nice feature of Sunshine. Galxy is just a culmination of the good bits of previous titles then multiplied by 1000.

Rainbow Mario is orgasmic.

I like the fact that the boss battles are more abundant than M64.

But here's the question: exactly how much representation from Galaxy are we going to see in Brawl? Sakurai, bless his heart, loves Sunshine so very, very much. Fact is tho, it's the black child of the Mario series (with the expception of Mario 2, and from what we've seen in Melee he loves that too)

A Rosalina AT? A Dino Piranha trophy? A Comet Observatory stage? Lumas AT? There's so much to pick from, let's hope Brawl is ripe with Galaxy.

Megaleg and Boulderguist need to be represented.

I've done 2 so far and aced them. I love the Boss battles. Quite possibly the best boss battles of any game.
Hmm. Not quite the best boss battles of any game. They do rank up there, tho. They're enjoyable and most are unique, but the bosses are pretty easy.

A Megaleg boss battle in SSE would be kickass. Samus VS. Megaleg? That'd be neat.

(Long read)

Ok. Here's the rundown of things with me. B4 Galaxy was out I wasn't too impressed with it because all I saw was pictures and bad quality videos of demos. I really underestimated the game. But then, like a month b4 galaxy came out, Gamespot put out a demo in their store. I have to wait for an hour before I could go home and it was right there so I thought, "Why not?". So I picked it up and I couldn't believe how amazing it looked. Those graphics look hard to beat. Anyways I played so much on that demo that I got past the first set of Galaxies in one run within a few weeks of waiting to go home. I got very good. My interest in it raised high and when I heard that it was coming out early this month I was thinking about it. This Tuesday I finally got it at Toys R Us with a discount and I brought it home. It was so great. I caught up to the point that I got to on the demo within that night. Of course I was expecting it because I already played through that part a ton. It got harder along the way, but it did seem pretty easy. Today I gathered the last 10 stars to get to the last boss battle and beat it. I'm dead serious. I've beaten the game within 3 days. Of course I've had vacation this week but still. I'm probably going to collect all of the stars to get to play as Luigi soon to pass more time. I had more fun than a barrel of monkeys. The game seemed too short and didn't have as much story in between as Sunshine was what got me down. This game feels like the original Mario with more of a story.

So my opinion about which is better? Overall it's hard to compare. Because of a lot of replay value in both games it gets more even. But Brawl tops Galaxy in a lot of things. Galaxy has a second player option for the little star thing that you point on screen. Well when I first picked up the game some annoying kids REALLY wanted to play it so I let them use the second controller. It got really tedious as they kept making me jump when I didn't want to and they used up my Star Bits. Second player is really only for people who have the same intentions on Galaxy. Whereas in Brawl the individual people can do whatever they want with their own style. Plus the multiplay options are pretty much endless and very enjoyable and I think that Brawl's one player will be an enjoyable experience. Even with the second player since it wouldn't affect you as much. But Brawl is still gonna have to work on their one-player options. To wrap it all up I think that Galaxy and Brawl almost match up. Although Brawl is still continuing to push the envelope and burn the candle at both ends, I think the only time we really can show any completely solid comparison is when Brawl comes out. And still, Brawl and Galaxy are just too different from eachother to compare too well. Why not just put this aside and just enjoy the games rather than pitting them against eachother? And with that, I close.

I don't really see why they need to be compared. It's obvious that both are going to be two of the best (if not THE best) games on the Wii.

^Ah, the final in the Mario triple. Really all I need to get by on a Nintendo system.

Mario console adventure - (SM64, Sunshine, Galaxy)

Mario cosole cart - (Mario Kart, Double Dash, Mario Kart Wii)

Mario Console Smash - (SSB, SSBM, SSBB)

Seriously, all I need from Nintendo, although others are appreciated.

[EDIT]

I'm taking the game really slow, and just got to Bouldergeist. For some reaosn he's giving me lots of trouble... -_-

[/EDIT]

[EDIT2]

YES! The d-mn arms regenerated like 6 times, but I beat him. Not so fond of the swinging Boo bombs.

Is this a thread on which of two games that aren't released yet is better? Every honest answer to this question will be BS since it's all based on speculation. Congradulations.

Anybody else having trouble with the purple coin run on toy time galaxy? Thats the only one I have left and its really hard.

I had to try this one several times, but I did get it. Once I was down to my last life, I changed my strategy:

1) Before you leave the main platform, you should pick up 14 star bits.
2) Step out onto the field and get a few coins in front of you. Comets will start to fall. After they do, make a beeline to the corner for the 1UP mushroom, raking in the star bits as you go (I did this because I was low on lives and needed to build up my reserves). There should be a diagonal row of coins you can pick up on the way. Keep hopping, since the yellow tiles are hard to run across diagonally.
3) From there, just try to see how many you can get before you die. I usually head "south" (down Luigi's right side, I think), to an area where you can make 2 long jumps down and then 2 back to pick up a bunch of coins suspended over the purple goo of death.
4) Then I think I headed to the other side, picking up what I could along the way. It helps to try to nab those clusters of purple coins hanging over midair on the edges. You have to do a controlled "short" long jump to get them.

I originally planned to use this strat to build up my extra lives until I had a bunch, then to go back trying to get it the "right way", but I actually ended up beating it with this strategy. Staying around the starting point for too long can make it hard to get back, so heading straight for the 1up then working your way back seems to work well.

For such a useless thread, this one has grown to like 32 pages. Although it doesn't seem like you can compare the 2 it gives us a chance to have a good discussion on them
