Very nicely done... But I have a request...

Maybe you could add some more beta blocks...

It is totally awesome though...

Hey, Xane,
about the blocks that go up a tile on their own, is there a way to simply have the program move them down automatically a tile? That way, when it's loaded in brawl, the new translation corrects itself. For instance, have the program detect what blocks have the odd-numbered height, and have it place them down a tile below. That's just a suggest in case you can't completely fix the bug we get with objects that go up for some unknown reason.

the bug isn't limited to the beta blocks, it happens to most theme specific pieces, it's just a bug that should be able to be fixed in the program

Is there any way, code or otherwise, that I can force the game to reuse my spawn points on death? I have many themed stages with set paths, but they're useless since when you die the game decides its respawn points wherever it wants. :(

Also, really need a fix for those blocks being pushed up a grid spot.

How do i change the size!

ok, ive been looking on your forums for about 2 hours and found this. i got the download and i got halfpipe and i was wondering how to do that! how do i change and strech out the object. Do i use a hex editor or do i use something in stage studio that i just dont know about.

Hey would it be possible for you to make it so that when your placing an object you can place it more than once, like in the actual editor, like when you press z. Also, stretching would be awesome.

Can someone tell me exactly how do I make the stages walk-off even if it's just from the right.

I tried pushing the big blocks to the far right out of the boundaries but I guess that's not how it's done. Can anyone help?

you either use codes to shorten the kill area around the stage (new code) or wait until stretching gets implemented into this editor.

i was also wondering how to get the pieces past the boundaries =/
you must have the allow out of bounds option turned on in the options menu. then, particular pieces (generally pieces that exceed 2 blocks) can be out of bounds on the bottom or the right side, 2x2 blocks cannot go out of bounds, but 3x3 can

not implemented into the editor yet

ok, is there a way for me to manually "strech" it?
Yes.
Tools | Guide

Edit: Also as a suggestion to Xane, if you plan to add in all block resize options (including the fractions [Which are 1/3rd, 1/5th, and 1/7th of the selected size; aka, if the block has a width of 5 and you set it to 1/3rd, it'd then have a width of 1 and 2/3rds]), then you might want to have a setting for 'Advanced Mode' when enabled would allow the fraction use, as well as uncentering blocks (Both the x and y axis is possible), while simple mode would just allow the normal whole number stretching.

Though to save you a bit of trouble/wondering Xane, if you fraction/uncenter a block it'll retain/gain (in most cases) from the size it already has and if it happens to be a 'normal' [Any of the solid floors, and the ice block] and you place another of any of those blocks close to it, that block will be pass through able on any side inside of it's 'full size' due to how Nintendo does 'solid' calculations for those objects.

first of all, awesome program, great work.

version 8.02
don't know if these were mentioned, but:
-when i go to play the stage the preview image just has that new stage icon. i have the custom image set to disabled.
-after i save, the program crashes. i have two computers, both with vista, but it only happens on one of them. it happens on my eMachines, but not on my compaq. it saves though...

suggestions: if possible...
-it'd be cool to be able to select multiple objects and move them as a group. say, if i wanted to move everything up one space to be closer to the ceiling (rather than having to move each piece separately).
-it'd also be convenient if you could click and drag to drawl a line of an object (easier to make floors/walls! XD).
-would it also be possible to have objects offset from the grid squares? like by half a space and such.
-changing the death spawn point. i think i passed over a post with that already, but... just to reiterate XP

offsetting grid squares just causes the blocks to snap back onto the grid

the death spawn point is only changeable with recent hacking codes

Could you make it so blocks can be placed past the blast line, so that we can perfectly replicate Hyrule Castle? That would be awesome.

EDIT* I have a suggestion: Could you make it possible to perfectly sync two moving platforms? I have two that I want to have the same x coordinate while their y coordinate changes, but remain equal to the other's y coordinates (two vertical). Also, there's an instance where I want a platform to reach its lowest point at the exact same time the other reaches its highest point (also vertical).

Horizontal sync would be nice as well.

Yeah.. I'm horrible at explaining things..
THIS, please, if it's at all possible.

I already thought they're synced, but only in theory.
I'll look more into it as well.

Multiselections would require to rewrite quite a bit as well.. I'd be alot easier to have a "Move All Objects to the left" etc button/shortcut first.
And there are not data in the stage format for death spawns etc~
Offsets aren't possible as well as the position is saved using just one byte covering the whole stage in integer numbers.

Just let people position spawn points 5-8 and then they can use them with hacks.

Is it possible to be able to use our own textures etc?
Or at least, be able to swap textures, and perhaps 3d models?

The same stage builder BG's and Tilesets are annoying.

I imagine this would be very very hard though, right? =/

can you put in the ability to rotate blocks? or at least angle blocks? i want to make a lip on my FD 2.0 stage but all i can do is put square blocks. i also want to make an angle that is 3x1 instead of just 1x3
if at all possible (without hacks) i would be very happy.
also, what sort of hacks would you need to make hacked stages? has anyone made it? how long is it?:dizzy:

btw, awesome program :)

I already thought they're synced, but only in theory.
I'll look more into it as well.
Well, in addition to making the stages look better and more fun, it would also help me to know where to place the spawn points to make them spawn perfectly on the moving platform (so that they don't spawn mid-air - preventing PT from freezing).

To further help this, could you make it so that while pressing a button (a function key, perhaps?), the sprite of the moving platform stops moving, and it goes exactly where it would be when the players spawn? Then when it's released, it continues where it would be normally.

I would like to be able to easily make players spawn on horizontal and vertical moving platforms as well as the spinning wheel, if possible.

Cool, if you guys could do this I wonder if you could make replays .bin files into playable video on the computer. :D

I much rather have that then this.

Hey everyone I just wanted to say that I did find a way to make the stages walkoffable without codes. (Only with small & medium stages only)

In the stage you are creating make the main platform (the one you want to make walkoffable) in a big stage setting (or medium if you're making a small stage) then go to stage options and change it to small/medium and the main platform that you made in the big stage setting will still be there but outside the outside boundary making it walkoffable. Sorry if anyone already knew this but this is a quick way to do it without codes.

So THAT is how you do it. I'll try that later, since I don't currently have acess to the computer with Stage Studio on it. Thanks.

One idea I have is to make the thing that says All/Floors/Structures/Features/Spawn useable by clicking on it. It's annoying that you can only press tab for that yet you can use the mouse for most other features.

Well, I'm having the same problem as before trying to upload to online stage browsers (BS/AiB). After checking into it more, I can't upload original stages OR naturally-made stages that were edited with the program.

I did this an hour after it was released. XD
Can this be used to send shock images to the Smash Service? Not that I would...

I think it might be because of the stage preview or something. after you create a stage in this program, edit it in the original brawl stage editor (if possible, it's pretty easy to freeze the wii with some of these stages being edited, dispite all working for just playing on).

cause after you open them in the brawl stage editor and save it, it can be uploaded, so maybe adding a pic to the stage in this program might allow it to be uploaded, i dunno...

would it be possible to have difeerent backgrounds instead of those 3 that are given to us?
short answer=no

long answer=noooooooooooooo

(just kidding, it's only possible though if you edit the game files and re-burn a disk to be loaded via modchip or backup loader)
