I think the video dates on youtube will suffice...
It would make things unnecessarily messy if we tried to employ that. Plus, it's usually fairly obvious how old the videos are (aside from youtube dates) based on how the people are playing. For instance, everything for Sonic from before about a month and a half ago doesn't have any ASC. The REALLY old stuff has a ton of dash attacking and short-hopped bairs with the dumbest spin charges ever.

I almost had Agent! Lag is quite punishable. T^T If I just landed that thunder.... AGH!! It was a good match though. I need to get better as Pika. :3 He's fun to play as.

MdrmDay, I like that combo video, its not bad, obviously the people he plays need to learn when to airdodge but it was entertaining, and there were several very good/unexpected spindash combos.

I think the people he played with made some critical errors when they shouldn't have. Like that one Fox that chased him off the edge even though the Sonic was going to die... and he got u-air stage spiked as a result :/

Still, I think this is a pretty good example of what people should be doing with their homing attack. Maybe not so much for comboing but definitely for gimping. Like, I didn't see or even hear of a lot of people using d-air as a gimp before Anthinus showed everyone how effective it could be (despite the fact that I was telling everyone to use it more). I think people have also yet to truly make this realization with the HA since there haven't been a whole lot of videos demoing it except for a few that Lucky posted . I mean, even dnes when I talked to him didn't have a habit of using it against Snake who is one of the easiest characters in the game to gimp with the HA.

I hope that people will increasingly realize just how fricking amazing Sonic's gimp game is and focus on it more.

Andee's a really good player around here. Doesn't hit alot of Live Tourney's, but he honestly might be the best Sonic in Ma(me and Memphis pissing contest aside.)

I've been teaching him some stuff he doesn't know, and some stuff he did know just never heard it explained like I did. We've talked a good bit about the HA. He's helping my tighten my overall game and I've been helping him polish his. He doesn't really seem to post on Smashboards much, and I can at least say, HA Gimps and Dairs are all him.

I use them, but not nearly as effectively. He also manages to get in his stage spikes way better than me. Kids good, really good. And I'm the DK that gets owned alot in his vids. I still think it's Melee when it comes to air dodging for somereason. I can't break the habit of trying to out attack when I should jsut be airdodging.

My DK spikes over the level a ton for no good reason. :(

I really didn't like them at all. Wes did way too much mind-gaming and camping and pissed away some opportunities that were just screaming to be seized.

Memp, your suicide in that first video made me want to go hide in a corner while covering my face in embarrassment.

How could you man?

idk, **** happens. ill get more up hopefully. i'm lazy, and tired, and don't care a lot. i have some really good ones too but those were the ones that i put up because of x or y reason.

that MK one is how sonics should play though, i mean, its not my best against him hut it the only thing i have on video that shows the spacing tactics and other gay stuff we have to do in order to compete

I wish I had a non-integrated webcam when I played against Romeo.

anyone familiar with that MK knows what a spammy POS that was, but I won. `.`;

I was told to post my combo video in this thread... so here it is.

All comments/criticisms are highly appreciated. :)
You did a u-taunt when you should have done a side taunt. Aside from that I saw some cool stuff... I really need to try and get that dair in my game more when opponents are recovering. I liked the bair > stage spike > footstool =)

Memphis has video's of my crappy sonic as well if he ever uploads them. I don't think i played well that day, but I really don't remember.

Either way, if he ever uploads anything that doesn't suck I'll let you guys know.

me versus knee of justices falco
this is what happens when somebody is truly devoted to camping sonic. it was for money so dont get mad at him, i still beat him in tourneys
Ay, I know it's not a rate-my-sonic thread, but I felt like critiquing the vids.
There were either habitual things to work on or things that you either missed due to pressure or just for these matches.

@ Round 1:
- Could work a little on your U-throw followups. People will either attack or airdodge after the first U-throw at a low %, so you could have gotten away with doing an instant B-air>FF (it's hitstun on most characters, pretty sure on Falco too) > grab on landing (if he airdodges).
- Not too sure what you were trying to pull in the water area lol
- 5:18 On that hill/dome (steeper part), you could have done an airdash to do an invincible approach through his lasers.
- You don't like springs much do you lol. Setting up a grounded spring (then getting hit once or just D-airing down) could have given you some aerial approaches over his laser spam

@ Round 2:
- Same thing with U-throws. If you don't want to attack, at least shield xD
- 2:26 You know that U-throw sends people backwards just a bit, so try jumping to the side (avoid some instant retaliation) and double jumping towards him with the attack.
- 3:26 love it. I didn't know that Corneria's ceiling was THAT low o_O; nice, haha.

@ Round 3:
- 1:10 I know it's almost reflex to do this as Sonic, but ... don't jump behind Falco.
- I'm led to wonder what would happen if you spring camped him. Set up a grounded spring and see what he does. If he tries to double jump, you can probably fall faster/as fast as him with D-air. Or FF airdodge. It's only speculation ;__;
- A few times, you try to grab him or whatever when you're too far, and he promptly spotdodges you. It's something I have to work on too, but staggering timing could have given you a few grabs.

@ Round 4:
- Camper tip: you can airdash if you charge side-B on the right edge of the stage. Remember, it's invincible ;D
- - - Haven't tried it myself, but I think you can airdash on the falling ship to get to the next part.
- 1:10 can't duck through the platform lolol
- 1:59
- 2:13 should have done a shield grab> pummel release ;___; In the heat of the battle it could have meant an airdodge for the death.
- 3:40-4:00 lol nice trap. got too impatient though ;__;
- 5:01 Haven't tried it but I think you can use that platform as an airdash launcher.
- end: bad DI, too much D-tilt lol.

overall:
- U-throw followups can improve ;d
- Maybe make more use of springs and applicable techniques (...airdash lol)
- You do alot of U-smashes. They're really punishable...
- As much as you like D-tilt, it's not a very safe move on block, and on top of that, downwards DI is dangerous. I can't really think of any decent followup at a high %, but it's nice at low %'s. So I guess avoid using it when you (and your opponent) are near death %'s.
- Stagger your attacks. It's something I'm working on myself, but at close range, you tend to approach after every missed move, and this led to him spotdodging those moves (grabs, dash attack, etc). It started to build into a horrible pattern that's somewhat difficult to break, especially if you decide to go aggro.
- - possible things to try:
- - - Foxtrot > dash attack
- - - Run/Foxtrot > F-smash
- - - F-smash .5 second charge.

;p
---------

btw, someone... decided to record me in some wifi matches, since we were having really close/good games. After he started recording, like, each round had me suiciding or getting 2-stocked, so he stopped (I think).

It was me vs his Peach. He started recording again after I started winning lol.
`.`; yeah... Not sure what the status on those vids are. I kinda don't want them to come out rofl.

and why yes, I do suck at battlefield.

Stop posting, you ******.

Everyone needs to learn how to Battlefield btw. It's only really disadvantageous vs larger/taller characters, and most of those you can probably outrun and combo a little.

Tenki, I just watched your fox vids. Force your opponent to spring up after they start a fresh stock... wasting their valuable invincible time. BRILLIANT! I need to work better on my timing for those IASA frames. When you missed a bair on the side of fd near the end of the second match, you perfectly rolled away from fox's fsmash...almost as if you never even touched the ground... really cool.
