@Greenstreet:
- Since when did I have videos here? ;p I posted memphischains vs mk.
Ay, I know it's not a rate-my-sonic thread, but I felt like critiquing the vids.
There were either habitual things to work on or things that you either missed due to pressure or just for these matches.
@ Round 1:
- Could work a little on your U-throw followups. People will either attack or airdodge after the first U-throw at a low %, so you could have gotten away with doing an instant B-air>FF (it's hitstun on most characters, pretty sure on Falco too) > grab on landing (if he airdodges).
- Not too sure what you were trying to pull in the water area lol
- 5:18 On that hill/dome (steeper part), you could have done an airdash to do an invincible approach through his lasers.
- You don't like springs much do you lol. Setting up a grounded spring (then getting hit once or just D-airing down) could have given you some aerial approaches over his laser spam
@ Round 2:
- Same thing with U-throws. If you don't want to attack, at least shield xD
- 2:26 You know that U-throw sends people backwards just a bit, so try jumping to the side (avoid some instant retaliation) and double jumping towards him with the attack.
- 3:26 love it. I didn't know that Corneria's ceiling was THAT low o_O; nice, haha.
@ Round 3:
- 1:10 I know it's almost reflex to do this as Sonic, but ... don't jump behind Falco.
- I'm led to wonder what would happen if you spring camped him. Set up a grounded spring and see what he does. If he tries to double jump, you can probably fall faster/as fast as him with D-air. Or FF airdodge. It's only speculation ;__;
- A few times, you try to grab him or whatever when you're too far, and he promptly spotdodges you. It's something I have to work on too, but staggering timing could have given you a few grabs.
@ Round 4:
- Camper tip: you can airdash if you charge side-B on the right edge of the stage. Remember, it's invincible ;D
- - - Haven't tried it myself, but I think you can airdash on the falling ship to get to the next part.
- 1:10 can't duck through the platform lolol
- 1:59
- 2:13 should have done a shield grab> pummel release ;___; In the heat of the battle it could have meant an airdodge for the death.
- 3:40-4:00 lol nice trap. got too impatient though ;__;
- 5:01 Haven't tried it but I think you can use that platform as an airdash launcher.
- end: bad DI, too much D-tilt lol.
overall:
- U-throw followups can improve ;d
- Maybe make more use of springs and applicable techniques (...airdash lol)
- You do alot of U-smashes. They're really punishable...
- As much as you like D-tilt, it's not a very safe move on block, and on top of that, downwards DI is dangerous. I can't really think of any decent followup at a high %, but it's nice at low %'s. So I guess avoid using it when you (and your opponent) are near death %'s.
- Stagger your attacks. It's something I'm working on myself, but at close range, you tend to approach after every missed move, and this led to him spotdodging those moves (grabs, dash attack, etc). It started to build into a horrible pattern that's somewhat difficult to break, especially if you decide to go aggro.
- - possible things to try:
- - - Foxtrot > dash attack
- - - Run/Foxtrot > F-smash
- - - F-smash .5 second charge.
;p

btw, someone... decided to record me in some wifi matches, since we were having really close/good games. After he started recording, like, each round had me suiciding or getting 2-stocked, so he stopped (I think).
It was me vs his Peach. He started recording again after I started winning lol.
`.`; yeah... Not sure what the status on those vids are. I kinda don't want them to come out rofl.
