Depending on how well things go and how much my dad and I get done, we may be able to start hosting as early as June!

Thanks Chris. You actually know exactly the area this is in--it's literally two or three streets from my dad's house. No city driving at all, just purely highway. I think that free 50 spaces of parking in their lot is another plus for you. ;)

Edit: Zucco, I hate to disappoint, but depending on expected turnout it MIGHT have to happen. I absolutely would LOVE to make it $5, but I have to make sure that I at least break even for renting the hall out.

Wow, absolutely amazing!!

If the top floor is $500 or less id go for it with a $10 venue fee and up to $5.00 back in setups brought in. With moderate hype you'll make more than money back.

I got calculated sheets of paper about venue expectance and venue fees ranging from $5 to $10 dollars and price possibilities. Hit me up if you need anything dude, ill give good numbers and ideas to help.

My apologies for potential imagery, but I exploded in my pants upon reading the driving situation :bee:

Thanks a lot for the offering of help, Mr. King Jr. I'll be sure to talk to you if I need anything done. Fortunately my dad's got that inside connection (everyone knows everyone in this town and he's lived there all his life) and I think I'll be able to get a super great bargain.

Solid info should come within the next week-two weeks. Obviously the sooner the better, and I understand that. Unfortunately I have to go through hell with the DMV this week to get a new permit and then take my driver's test on Friday, but after that I have absolutely no obligations after school. My dad can still communicate with the people there during this week for me, though.

By the way, the town this is in, Rochelle Park, is an extremely small (but densely populated) 1 square mile town...not a lot of events are going to be occurring in this building. We need them for Smash and they need us to raise money, so depending on the vacancy, we might even be able to get bi-weeklies going on in here.

Next year or maybe in the summer/winter, I'd also like to host a super big event here with both floors. I've also considered my school's enormous gymnasium for a national venue, but I haven't even cracked open that can of worms yet.

Edit: Shippo, something tells me you either Googled it or just knew. Either way, you're correct.

I'm a Boy Scout Eagle Scout, I know where these things are. I have meetings in the hall next to the legion hall. Lol, this venue is tight.

LEGIT VENUE IS LEGIT!

For anyone who hasn't been there, really, the mall is ACROSS THE STREET. You walk into the ShopRite parking lot and then there's a little gap between the fence with some small steps, and you're right at the AMC/Best Buy entrance by the carousel.

So if you forget your controller, there's like 5 game stores at the mall LOL. Also who's up to go to the movies after the tourny!

Oh my God.

This is WAY closer than I thought.

North NJ tourneys are a good thing.

TOO ALL PEOPLE

By car, this venue is literally 10 min from the George Washington Bridge, if that. It would be about 20-25 min from the Lincoln Tunnel. It's about 7 min from the end of the NJ Turnpike. I think a bus drops off near the venue(Zone 3 Interstate I think, so $3.10 for a trip) This venue is STUPIDLY easy to get to.

If you need a bigger turnout consider adding melee + brawl to the title. The venue sounds large enough to support both.
