Cleveland didn't teach you that? Neither did Phoenix a few years ago?

Seriously though, I forgot where I read this, but the team with the best record the past decade has had a lesser chance of making the finals.

Regular season factors in a lot of things such as working hard on a night to night basis, injuries, who's hot, who's not.

Besides, Spurs up-tempo offense this season has proven that up-tempo doesn't work in the playoffs. When the game slows down, you gotta go through the post. Didn't work for Phoenix a few years back either.

I mean hey Cleveland lost to a wayyy better team (no disrespect to Memphis).

As for Pheonix, I didn't follow the regular season very much back then. Like I've said earlier this was the first time I've followed a team's regular season every game. Before that I'd just check out a game every once in a while and didn't really get into NBA games until the playoffs.

Yeah well...It's hard to remember exactly well, but I know for a fact Phoenix finished with the 1 seed 2-3 times in the past decade, and didn't make it. Dallas had the best record one year and didn't make it. Cleveland had the best record two times and didn't make it. Then that year when LeBron with nuts on Pistons...Pistons were first seed and didn't make it. Not sure if the Kings were ever first seed.

But yeah, overall minimum, 5 teams that were first seed in the past decade that didn't make it out.

In the long run, WEstbrook might be the reason OKC gets bounced out. I think he has a bit of ego in terms of trying to being KD's equal, which he clearly isn't.

Man, sucks it was Duncan's 35th bd too. Bummer.

Spurs fire needs to be rekindled, but it's way too late for that. Who knows, I think we may be able to pull a victory at home wednesday, only if we start playing classic Spurs playoff mode, seriously.

Shouldn't have been hard for the Lakers to show up with David West out. Even if the Lakers win the next two, it will have been a poor series.

Stoudamire played all 4 games and played in at least 33 minutes of 3 of them anyways, so I doubt he was hurting all that badly. Billups played 35 minutes in the first game too, and the Knicks still couldn't win. Celtics were just a much better team, no way around it.

Contrary to popular belief, I do think Carl Landry is a better and tougher match up for LA compared to West. West is a pure jump shooter, where as Landry is physical with Gasol, who hasn't been TRULY effective in this series. Gasol averaged 25+ points on 70% shooting vs D-West this year. So the huge decline is definitely credit to Landry.

With that being said, yeah, the Lakers have been a bit up and down in this series.

Amare was playing with back spasms. He was not the same after Game 1. He had no explosiveness, opted for jump shots way too much, and was overall a bit gimpy. They had a chance to win Game 1 and 2, but that playoff inexperience, and Boston execution were key.

Back spasms are serious stuff. He wouldn't be playing if this was the regular season. T-Mac had to be hospitalized because of that injury, and even Kobe didn't look right the next day playing with back spasms.

I am a Thunder fan and I sometimes wish to punch Westbrook in the face, he's a GREAT and Awesome player but sometimes he does 3 shooters in the Worst moments ever. In those moments that you think: " He now can and should go for the 2 pointer or fish the foul " he goes and shoots a Three!! smh.

KD <3 I am salty about yesterday. Also I have a question: What Nene did to Perkins, why that wasnt a foul? :S

To be honest, I didn't see the part about Nene and Perkins. I heard the commentators talking about how they took Perkins out of the game so there wouldn't be any chance he might be suspended or ejected. Something must've gone wrong.

Yeah, Nene DID foul him intentionally and they didnt call nothing at all! and it was clearly a foul. So that perkins got mad as hell and b4 something happened they took him out of the game.

Last night might very well be the worst I've ever felt as a Spurs fan.

End of an Era.
Sorry dude I know that must be rough... Honestly I think the Spurs played so hard during the regular season they never left any room to get better in the playoffs. For whatever reason they peaked during the regular season and it looks like they're falling off now. It might be old age or something I'm not sure. I'd like to say the Spurs will be back next year but as KG just said they're getting old. :\

It's funny how people think the Spurs are getting old when the average age of Boston, Dallas and LA are much...older.

Spurs three core players...Duncan is 35 (old), Manu is 32 (still good), and Parker is 28 (prime). Their key role players, Bonner is 31 (still fine), Hill is 24 (still can develop), Jefferson is 30 (not as explosive, but improved 3 point shooter and defender). Don't let the "age" talk fool you.

I think what it really is that they are missing a true power forward/center. As physical and active Dejuan Blair is, he's only 6'7. He has room for improvement given he's only 22, but he's not playing his true position. Duncan is forced to play center, when he should be playing PF. They are riding a lot on Splitter to develop into a legitimate center, because Duncan being that defensive anchor is slipping away. Like how Duncan came in when David Robinson was at his last legs, someone needs to come in and take that defensive anchor torch from Duncan.

I didn't know Manu and Parker were that young, wow. I guess most people will label the Spurs as "old" when they look at Duncan, who has been the face of the team for a while now.

I expect both the Pacers and Magic to get knocked out tonight to join the ranks of the Knicks. Lakers/Hornets game should be fun to watch tonight.

Manu is old, past his prime. He'll never like the Manu from the 05 run.

Splitter was supposed to be the next great center of the league. Complete no show.

Duncan got injured, we lost 6 straight. Every team we played was fighting for seeding in the playoffs, and it was cruel to watch.

Manu got injured the last game of the season.

Spurs lost complete momentum when Duncan went down and they just never picked themselves up.

I don't know who i want to win tonight, i would like to see the upset but i also want to see a threepeat sort of

pacers are done tonight
i want the magic to win -they had a good first quarter already

I want to see lakers OKC a lot, but as long as the thunder lose I'm happy
If the nuggets somehow pulled it out I would be ecstatic

No team has come back from a 3-0 deficit, though if I figured there is one team that could be on the receiving end of it, it would be Dallas lmao.

Orlando will go as far as their 3 point shooting goes. Going into this game, they had attempsted the most 3's and made the least amount percentage wise. If they can get their 3 ball game back on track, they can easily take control of this series and win it. Guys like J-Rich, Turk, Anderson, and Red**** have been super inconsistent this series.

LOL at Re**** being censored

2 blow outs right now. A third one to follow?

Bulls fans giving Pacers more business

So dumb, Hornets have had 3 shots already go in, out, and back in.

This is getting ridiculous. Everyone is hitting shots. Okafor hitting 18 foot jumpers?

Kobe just posterized Okafor.

Only reason the Hornets were in this were because Hornets would not miss in the first, Ariza is hot, and Marco was hitting shots. Second quarter, they had a lot of turnovers. So if both things balance out, it should be a close game. Ball needs to go into Bynum more. Pau and Odom are useless in this series.
