Haha, dude, nobody said the Hawks were the best in the league. We said they're good.Don't worry about the Hornets being undefeated the Heat will quickly change that on Friday.
As for the Hawks, they still haven't played the Heat, Boston, Magic, Bulls, or any top 3 team in the Western Conference.
Fun fact: The Hawks have yet to play a team with a winning record.
Being 4-1 so far against 2 top 5 teams (The Heat) is more impressive than being 5-0 against a bunch of terrible teams (Hawks).
Also, I'd put stock in records if, you know, we were more than 5 games into the season. Chillax a bit there. lol
The Heat have impressed me with their game, but all they've shown is that they can outplay bad teams. Kinda' like the Hawks. Beating Orlando, mildly impressive. Orlando has a habit of losing games they shouldn't though. Philly, NJ, and a bad Minnesota team? Hardly worthy of praise yet. The only thing that stands out to me is that they lost to Boston.
Oh, and the Hawks have beat a fairly underrated Memphis team, and they took down John Wall. Sure they've had a fairly light schedule so far, but they're still the 3rd best team in the East in my opinion. I think the Magic are 4th.
Since I'm fearless, I'm gonna' write down how I see the league early on.
East:
1. Boston (Best until proven otherwise. Rondo is something special.)
2. Miami (They've got talent, and the East is fairly weak.)
3. Atlanta (Based on the early season, they're not as strong as the Heat.)
4. Orlando (Dwight's better, the team's worse? C'mon.)
5. Chicago (They've got a winning pedigree in the East, but they're not impressive yet.)
6. Indiana (Danny Granger is one of the hardest people to cover in the league.)
7. New York (I think Amare's enough to get them into the playoffs.)
8. Milwaukee (They're 1-4, but Corey Maggette is a great addition.)
9. Washington (John Wall has lived up to the hype, and after some experience...)
10. Cleveland (I don't think they've got anything special... But they're playing hard.)
11. New Jersey (Last year was a fluke, but they're still a weak team.)
12. Philadelphia
13. Charlotte (Larry Brown and MJ count for something, I guess.)
14. Toronto
15. Detroit
West:
1. L.A. (These *******s. XD)
2. San Antonio (Our youth and a more aggressive RJ have us looking like a number 2 seed.)
3. New Orleans (I don't like us higher since we lost, but I think we're better. NO is legit.)
4. Dallas (Consistent, and they've got Dirk. Very good squad.)
5. Portland (If they can get over injuries, they'll be as good as Atlanta.)
6. Oklahoma City (They're sketchy at times, but they're extremely good defensively.)
7. Denver (Melo or not, they've got Chauncey and J.R. Smith.)
8. Phoenix (Seeing Hakim Warrick on their team is scary. He's basically a smaller Amare.)
9. Golden State (I'm not sold on them yet, but they're a solid team.)
10. Utah (Always strong, but they're losing what little edge they had.)
11. Memphis (I'm impressed by how much they've improved over the last few years.)
12. Houston (They're better than they've showed, but they're in need of a star.)
13. L.A. Clippers (I love Blake Griffin's game. He's a monster. Too bad he's with them.)
14. Sacramento (Good squad... Not much talent...)
15. Minnesota (They can't keep getting blown out like this...)
So yeah, that's my early impressions on the teams. I do hate saying the Spurs are the 2 seed, because I think 2-5 in the west is a toss-up.
If I rated the whole league:
1. L.A.
2. Boston
3. Miami
4. Atlanta
5. San Antonio
Miami will have the league-best record, but only because LA doesn't really care about that.
Atlanta will take the Number 2 seed in the East behind them, and Boston will lock up Number 3. Orlando takes Number 4 because nobody else will.
As the West stands now, NO is the second best squad. I still think it's a bit of a fluke for them to be this good so early, but time will tell.
I'm done rambling, someone else take over. lol
