Rex's name might not have been on the list that Nintendo gave him. If speculation is correct the list might have been ALL third party characters. So he couldn't add Rex even if he wanted to.

But you have to hand it to the popularity of Xenoblade where a character not getting in deserves an apology. Most other fanbases would kill just for that acknowledgement.

it helps that the XB fans did fight tooth and nail to get the first game brought over.

Because even if the all the DLC is third party they are still the ones making the most money. There's no way any company is making more than Nintendo on a single character let alone the entirety of the DLC.

Just having Dante and Sora mii costume is more the enough reason to throw this entire thing out. You would have to be out of your mind to negotiate for Sora and not use him as the fighter.

Also they don't list a Geno costume when they literally have a Geno costume done and Geno rights already negotiated for. We already know that they are bringing old third party mii costumes back. Why leave out Geno?

Yeah like I said it's complete trash but Dante and Banjo would make an awesome E3. And um Erdrick is there too I guess. But yeah two awesome characters to do E3 right would be super rad and getting extra bosses as DLC would be neat.

You'd think these fake leakers would read up on speculation to adjust their leaks to be a little more believable. At this point these dudes are just throwing stuff out in hopes it'll stick. We will never find out, but I wonder if the authors of the leaks that got some stuff right were going, "Holy **** it worked!"

The only thing people felt that kept Resident Evil out of Smash was the lack of realistic looking firearms and since Joker now has one that obstacle is gone.

Since Resident Evil is the most successful Japanese IP not in Smash and Capcom are on board it feels very likely. IGC also mentioned that Jill had been considered which is probably why she's specifically being brought up. Most people think Leon is more likely.

Well even IF Nintendo wouldn't have any Profits on the DLC it is still Postrelease Promotion. Especially with a char as significant as Banjo.

It's a shame we don't have an AT of metal Slug like the one Advance Wars had in previous games. The sprite work in those games is legendary. At least have one of the POW's walk out and drop and item before he salutes and runs away.

If we were to expand it to all shooters yeah I still think it might be Doomguy or Master Chief. My bias would want someone from Overwatch or TF2. Funny enough if rumors of Nintendo going to valve about a half life game are true then Gordon Freeman might stand a legit chance.

I'll freely admit that was a misunderstanding on my end. Partly because I jumped the gun (heh), but also partly because outside of Doom and Wolfenstein, I'm really struggling to see a viable classic shooter character and thus expanded on it all. Quake's a classic (especially here in Sweden / Europe, with its LAN computer history) but that series has fallen into real niche territory now. Duke Nukem, yea, he's not getting revived after Forever. Unreal Tournament shares many of the same problems as CoD does. Tribes could count as a classic (first released in '98) but it lacks the Nintendo presence too.

Makes sense. Even the Switch commercials focus on the young, cool, adult audience, so Ultimate seems like it would be an extension of that overall (4 came out during a time when aiming towards casual and kid audiences was backfiring with the Wii U).

Seems legit. I figured that was why there were so many JRPG characters in Smash For's DLC, since that's a genre that attracts a hardcore playerbase.

...Why are we even taking Hitagi seriously again? Isn't he severely unreliable(or was that she?). I mean, this isn't like Verge, who had almost every bit of the base game right, and only is unreliable for DLC at best. And then believed a bad source and got screwed over for a Nintendo direct. Of course, bad sources happen, but he had some reliable information.

Did Hitagi ever have a lot of reliable information? Or barely anything right? Even Tansut's track record is better(though getting one thing right is a great ratio when they never got anything wrong, that doesn't make them reliable. That just makes worth keeping an eye on because they never got anything wrong).

Okay, if Vergeben is trusting Hitagi, that's a different situation. But since Hitagi isn't credible for Smash in itself, I'd stay skeptical. Verge is fairly trusthworthy, but we know he isn't perfect. No leakers are, of course. Everybody gets bad information from time to time.

...And you're taking this seriously why? No really, why? This person was pretty much shown to have a crap record when it came to Smash, so why are you taking them seriously?

If we are being fair to Hitagi he did what a leaker should do. He found out his information was bad and then told us. That's much better then other leakers who don't find out their sources are wrong until later. And so far Steve is the only thing he never recanted.
Anyways I still hope this information is wrong. This whole Steve thing is giving me Grinch flash backs where all those leakers said it wasn't real at the same time. It's making super nervous. The only light is that so far everything leaked about DLC so far has been wrong and we are still a good chunk of time away from E3 so no one on our side should be able to make it yet. Still making me nervous though. I really need Sakurai to pick the right Microsoft character.
