Ok I am going to take a break from this thread if every single time some random person says Steve is in we all freak out and act like its the end.

Smash Ultimate speculation in a nutshell:

Between this and the Geno thread, I can't tell which gives up more. Just a shame there's still another freaking bloody month before E3 happens.

We'll probably get Character 2 and 3 Revealed at E3 though, Lets just hope Banjo is one of them.

Game leaks are different then e3 floor leaks. Mario Maker 2 was talked about for several months before it was officially announced. I still think Nintendo knows better then to just put a big reveal like that out on the floor. Everything this guy has leaked has been really non-essential stuff that would be put on the e3 floor. Right now it would just be generic Smash booths set up. Nintendo would be dumb to just plaster Steve's face on all of it.

I am just...so tired of this hope game we play here. We build up hope by proof we find. And then we always let one thing come along to destroy everything. It's so tiring. It would have been better off at the start for me to not have any hopes for any characters I wanted and assumed the worst possible picks.

"There are many signs that Steve is the next DLC in Smash Bros Ultimate" He's implying this statement based on the hack leakers and the implied assumption of Nintendo's business model of "chase the shiny coin" when fan demand has been the driving force related to smash.

This whole situation is just reminding me more and more of the Grinch leak. We had way more evidence back then but leakers kept coming and saying that it was fake and the community wasn't having it they ignored them said they got baited and whatever else and we still cling to the leak and in the end we got the two worst reveals and Ken as our final characters. Some of us can pretend this guy is the same as a 4chan text leaker but Nintendo plans for E3 have very likely been finalized and he probably does know someone who deals with stuff so it does hurt. Right now I'm just going to assume we lost and if we by some miracle do get Banjo instead it'll be all the sweeter.
I think if Steve does make it in over Banjo I might be done with speculation for a while. It's getting kind of hard to watch how little fan demand affects the roster.

I've made peace with the fact that if Banjo doesn't get in this game he's never getting in Smash. It's not worth getting hopes up every time.

Yes, he's another figure coming out in support of Steve in Smash, but that really just means more smoke regarding Steve. There's still smoke that could point to Banjo Kazooie coming to Smash as well. We probably won't know which actual fire is burning until E3. Unless somebody has some sort of more physical proof or are willing to be more upfront with why they believe Steve (or anyone else for that matter) is in Smash, then it's just business as usual.

I'm more tired of this back and forth then anything. At least proof of some sort will get everything over with and we can move on. I may just need to avoid certain places on the internet because the creepy Steve ****posting will never end after the reveal. Best case is that both Steve and Banjo gets in. But regardless. This is still the only leaker who has said Steve. Hitagi's widely discredited and Xenother isn't a leaker. Vergeben also has never said Steve.

IGC and the Windows Central Editor said/implied Banjo. But that's it as far as credible Banjo backers afaik.

Ok, so if Earthworm Jim can get a new game after all these years then I feel more confident that a new Banjo game can get made I hope.

Honestly, if Earthworm Jim is now getting a new sequel YEARS after his last game alongside so many other cartoony mascot platformers like Crash, Spyro, Rayman, Toe Jam & Earl, and ******* Bubsy getting sequels and remasters recently after YEARS of dormancy, there is no damn reason Banjo-Kazooie should not be getting a new remaster or sequel. Or at the very least a place on Smash's playable character roster. C'mon Nintendo & Microsoft! It's time to bring the beloved backpacking bear and bird buddies back into the spotlight where they belong!

I have my personal doubts that just another character reveal would get any kind of major presence at E3 unless they had something substantial to go with them and I generally don't believe Minecraft has that sort of thing. Sure, they could just throw Steve out on the floor just because, but with as much other stuff as Nintendo has for this year, I just don't see a character reveal getting much of a presence (if any) at E3 booths.

Remember what the Popeye guy in the Geno thread said? He basically said that the character reveal would be the lowpoint of the presentation. And that they have stuff coming that would overshadow character announcements. If that holds true I think you might be right on the money.
