Just put all the Rareware games in general on it. Or even the N64 games plus the DKC ones.

Also, I read that as "for furries".
Oddly funny gaffe, seeing how the game is about running from a wolf that's anything but for furries…

But yeah, that's an even better idea, with the obvious exception of licensed games due to cost (not that anyone would want any of them except Mickey's Speedway USA and Pictionary).

So this is a blow, but isn’t there still something slated for the press conference later this month?

Tough question for everyone.

If you were allowed to only choose one of the two, Which would you rather have?

Rare Replay on the Nintendo Switch with Donkey Kong Country Trilogy, DK 64, Diddy Kong Racing and Star Fox Adventures.

Or

Nintendo 64 Classic Edition with Most of Rare's N64 Library with Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, Diddy Kong Racing, Conker's Bad Fur Day and Perfect Dark.
Rather keep it all on one (portable) system, so Pon de Replay.

Those spirits made me wonder. If Banjo Kazooie got in Smash, do you think they could be presented as "Mr Rareware"? similar as to how Pac-Man is presented as "Mr Namco Arcade"?

Apart from Snake Rattle & Roll and maybe Jetpac, it'd be a bit tough to incorporate retro references into their moveset.

Doesn't relate to banjo much but...

N64 games are coming
As great as it would be, I don't think their coming all out on Switch, Turok Dinosaur Hunter were remastered a few years ago for PS4/Xbox and this is very likely just a port of the same game from Nightdive Studios.

It's great to see it hit the Switch since it was an N64 exclusive back then, I remember my cousin and I played this game growing up since I absolutely love dinosaurs, Kind of funny that this game kind of scared us at times as kids since it was our very first experience with a rated M game.

I didn't even know it was remastered to begin with. With the possibility of more n64 titles coming to switch aside, I love turok. I have nearly all the games, and i even snagged all 4 of those super rare dinosaur action figures on ebay. It's a relief that I get to play this on a good controller now. I love my n64 to death, but man was it a pain to play shooters on. For those of you who don't know, n64 controllers only have one analog stick. Meaning you have to use the directional buttons to move.

Yeah it's not a complete overhaul of a remaster ,But more of a enchanced port with higher resolution, HD textures and most importantly dual analog support for modern controllers which should make it more fun, Think of it on the level of Banjo-Kazooie on XBLA/ Rare Replay ,But probably taken a step further with enhanced visuals, They also did the same job to Turok 2: Seeds of Evil which is also available on Xbox and will likely get ported to the Switch as well.

I will definitely keep an eye on those 2 and may consider geting them, Never played Seeds of Evil, But I heard it's the best in the series and has insane weapons, But I do have some memories playing the 1st one so it's good to see them finally return on a Nintendo console.

As much as I would love an N64 Classic, DKC Trilogy AND Diddy Kong Racing on the Switch would be soooo much fun.

Even if this apparent Nintendo/Microsoft alliance doesn't lead to Rare Replay or Rare games on a hypothetical N64 Mini, I would at the very least bet on the XBLA ports of Kazooie and Tooie making it on the Switch and I'm not sure why that's being dismissed as a longshot. Older games come to the Switch constantly - Turok is just one of many. If there's a market for the likes of Okami, the PS1 Final Fantasies, the Ace Attorney trilogy, the GameCube Resident Evils, Grandia 1 and 2 and countless others... there's 1000% a market for Banjo.

All I ask is for a port of Banjo-Kazooie & Tooie to Switch and/or the possible inclusion of Banjo & Kazooie in Smash. Give me either one or both of these things and I'll be immensely happy.

Hopefully if there's no physical of Turok, Limited Run will make one!
Even better put Turok 1-3 (Dinosaur Hunter, Seeds of Evil & Shadow of Oblivian) on 1 cartridge, The 3rd one has yet to be remastered, But if it does I would heavily consider getting the trilogy in physical form.

Agreed. I don't honestly remember a lot of the stuff you said... bar Frogger, Castlevania, and Metal Gear. Most of the stuff I know from Konami is already referenced in Yu-Gi-Oh or is literally unique Yu-Gi-Oh stuff.

It's too bad too. It wouldn't been great to fight a team that had Frogger as a Spirit and Big The Cat as a Spirit. In fact, I remember reading Incineroar can have Big as a Spirit and has the Purple Alt too. No clue if the alt was actually a reference to Big or a coincidence, but that's still a pretty cool battle. Though thinking about it, who would be a good person for Frogger to be equipped to if that overall Spirit Battle was added on to?

(That is so harddddd to explain in less words).
You've ever played the Ganbare Goemon/Mystical Ninja games? They're amazing underrated games.
Doesn't relate to banjo much but...

N64 games are coming
Holy ****! Turok is coming to the Switch!

This is so random but it makes me hopeful that they’ll port more N64 games over, such as Banjo
And:

Banjo-Tooie
Conker's Bad Fur Day
Diddy Kong Racing
Goldeneye 007
Perfect Dark
Jetforce Gemini
Killer Instinct Gold
Blast Corps
Mystical Ninja: Starring Goemon
Goemon's Great Adventure
Mischief Makers
Turok 2: Seeds of Evil
Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion
Space Station Silicon Valley
Rocket: Robot on Wheels
Bomberman 64: The Second Attack

Like come on! Give me amazing N64 games that are not Nintendo games Nintendo. Is there any other classics I'm missing from the list?

Sucks to hear, But not surprising at all.

It has grown as a cult favorite over the years because of how funny, weird and unique of an experience it is, But unfortunately his series just never caught on, Both Bad Fur Day and Live & Reloaded both didn't sell well and came out at the end of their console's lifespans not really giving it a chance, If it came out earlier it would likely have performed better ,But probably not by much.

The main reason I think Conker isn't successful is because of it's demographic appeal, The franchise is in a weird middle ground of it's identity, Despite It's cartoony look it's too mature for kids, But at the same time it's not appealing enough for mature audiences who want something more realistic and wouldn't take a game seriously with a cartoon squirrel on the box cover, So that just leaves us Rare fans and certain gamers as the remaining audience who would play and find it appealing and unfortunately we are the minority.

Yeah, that's just the way things turned out. You know even after hearing about this, I'm still going to push for Conker support even if nothing ever ends up happening because at the end of the day, I like the character and he'd have a fun moveset in Smash. To me, that's all that really matters. So realistically whether he gets in or not does not matter to me.

I just wish Microsoft utilized Conker a bit more without cancelling every other Conker project so the franchise could actually have some room to grow and figure out its identity.

As much as I would still like a single player adventure with Conker, I think the best chance for the franchise to find an audience and thrive is taking the multiplayer route.

Despite it's sales, I think Live & Reloaded had the right idea of overhauling the multiplayer for Xbox Live, You can tell they were trying to appeal to Xbox's Halo/Shooter demographic and giving the Squirrels and Tediz a more serious edge and attitude in the War Multiplayer.

With Multiplayer games being bigger than ever, I can see them doing another take on a Conker multiplayer shooter, or maybe even a different mode that builds off of the Heist multiplayer from Bad Fur Day with the Weasels doing Co-op robberies and breaking in banks. I would definitely play the hell out of that.

Call of Duty ? Fortnite ? **** that **** !!!

SHC Vs Tediz? Weasel Heist? Yes, Please !!!

What I'm taking out of this is the fact that Conker was openly deconfirmed without any beating around the bush. And yet people have been badgering Rare about Banjo for months and no one has said a thing!

Well I mean technically Conker wasn't deconfirmed since Chris Seavor has no bearing over what happens to Conker, since he left Rare and Rare still owns Conker.

Add onto that Phil's positive responses to Banjos inclusion. He even talks about "the next smash bros. dlc", which would be Ultimates dlc. Sakurai himself has even mentioned wanting to add Banjo in the past. Not gonna lie, I've got a good feeling about it. None of it is confirmation, but I cant help but get hyped.

I really think Banjo's chances are here this time around, more than ever. Everything is lining up perfectly in his favor. The toyline, the silence from Rare, the acknowledgement from Phil on two occasions.

I'm remaining optimistically skeptical. I truly want them to finally be announced and reunited with their Nintendo family, but I've been hurt in the past one time too many to be as hyped as the rest of you. For now at least. If they get announced, you can be damn sure I'll be yelling my lungs out of sheer joy over them finally making it into Super Smash Bros. in a game featuring the likes of Mario, Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Link, Kirby, Pikachu, Duck Hunt, Solid Snake, Sonic the Hedgehog, Mega Man, Pac-Man, Ryu, Cloud Strife, Bayonetta, Simon Belmont, and Joker from freaking Persona.

All the stars are lining up, but my constant paranoia of a costume or spirit keeps me in check. (See wayfowards silence about shantae spirit)

I remember the days of smash 4 dlc and how my top 4 never happened. I've come to terms that Ridley wasn't happening, at least in that game. Poor k rool was skinned alive, and banjo seemed like such a pipe dream at the time. I could forgive it all if only I had wolf...

But, wouldn't they have contacted his well-and-healthy voice actor for this? He's THE character...

A deconfirm from a character's voice actor that's not even affiliated to the company anymore? I don't see why, as Rare themselves weren't even contacted when one of their former characters got confirmed. :ultkrool:

If anything, Seavor just thinks nothing will happen with Conker for the time being, nothing different than what fans have been thinking.

Conker's always gonna live in Banjo's shadow where Smash is concerned. Banjo is "Mr Rare". Conker's a cult favorite, rather than the household name that Banjo is.

Though in all honesty if Conker got in somehow then I'd be over the moon.

The question is who is the bigger non Banjo-Rate character when it comes to Nintendo? Conker or Joanna Dark?

I mean it's not like it's impossible to get Conker in. We've seen with enough support, stagnant characters (:ultkrool:) can be brought to Smash, it's just a matter of presenting Nintendo with the demand. If people continue to not talk about Conker, he just probably won't get in.

Although Conker lives in Banjo's shadow, I'd argue that Conker is the next face of Rare after the bear given how much attention he receives from Microsoft. Plus, it's not like Banjo is the only one getting Totaku figures and stuff like that (gotta order my Conker one soon!). Whenever Rare/Microsoft promotes stuff, you can always bet Conker is gonna be right there alongside Banjo. Hell, Microsoft uses Conker way more than Banjo and other Rare characters nowadays. It's odd, but there's that.

I'd say the only thing that really separates Banjo and Conker is popularity. Otherwise, they've both appeared in the same number of games, originating in Diddy Kong Racing.

This isn't me trying to advertise, but if you some of you are interested in Conker, don't forget the Conker thread exists and remains pretty active for a less popular character.

Having both wolf and Ridley confirmed on the same day made all the pain from smash 4 dlc instantly vanish. Before June 12th, I was expecting Ridley to be too big again and wolf be the new mewtwo. Missing out on the base roster but being a front runner for dlc. Ultimate has spoiled me.

But even so, I'll keep my expectations in check. Wolf is back, but the trauma still remains.

"Wolf is practically a shoe-in. Mewtwo, Lucas and roy all came back. Wolf is popular, easy to make, has no technical or legal issues like icies and snake. And he even has a new game coming out.

Yep...he'll be confirmed any day now...

...any day...."

This is why I don't even want to think about the next Smash game. If they can't pull off another everyone is here, some characters are gonna get cut and that's gonna suck.

I think they should just port it over tbh. Pretty up the graphics, maybe add some new characters and stages. Ultimate can be the new skyrim for all I care.
