At the moment, I'm on team real with this leak. Not just the circumstances around it, but the timing of this feels right. At this point, Nintendo have gone gold and will be getting ready to put the game on the eshop, possibly with a demo first and then the digital pre-order. Once they're on the eshop, the game is going to get datamined to hell and back - so it only makes sense that they're preparing a reveal/direct to blow out the game soon (November), at which time, their promotional material needs to be ready to release. The fact that those materials are 'supposedly' printed and ready, and that Nintendo need to reveal everything soon before a download is available (if they're sticking to their guns and revealing all characters before launch, that is), just sits right with me.

What I'm not so sure about is the list of characters in the 'leak' - are we saying there are 7 or 8 characters? Because I've seen KOS-MOS named on some sites but not all? And it sorta looks like she's there.... also, am I the only one who doesn't see Artsy Omni's Banjo in this leak?

Nope, pretty much alive. Strongest arguments against are the background discrepancies, everything else seems to be pointing real

God I hope we get a demo. Just to be able to feel how the game plays before it officially comes out would be a wonderful feeling. Especially after seeing SO MANY PEOPLE get the chance to play it at all these tournaments and events. Hopefully next month will be a great month.

I have a feeling they will want to do some sort of network test at least, similar to what they've done with Splatoon, ARMS and Mario Tennis Aces. I would be very surprised if they didn't, given recent history. But like I said, I imagine they will want to reveal every character before they drop that. Hopefully soon!

I was just about to say this. I've seen other instances of backgrounds in art, be it in video games or animated shows and movies, having inconsistencies for the sake of clarity.

I can't recall a Japanese composer ever rearranging any of Grant's music (other than the DK Rap in Melee), so having that happen would be interesting.

If I'm not mistaken, Regardless of what franchise is represented in Smash, Sakurai already has his usual orchestra team that does music for the whole game.

I'm gonna be excited just to finally have Banjo & Kazooie confirmed to return to a Nintendo console in one of the most anticipated games of all time as part of the greatest fighting game roster ever conceived. And possibly set the stage for them returning to the spotlight with new remasters or new games on both Xbox and Nintendo Switch.

So basically the shock and excitement still exists for the first reveal then after that the characters are confirmed and I no longer have to just hope my favorites are in I just know but I still get to enjoy the awesome trailers later. Yup, still not seeing a downside.

I do hear the discrepancies regarding the background, and I understand the issue, but every fiber of my being wants to indulge in the idea that this could be real (I’m also a recent Isaac fan, so that’s icing), so I really do tend to focus on what supports the leak. I acknowledge leaks get creative like this though, so albeit that it looks excitingly legitimate aside from the rebuttals, it may not even depend on these background inconsistencies to determine if the leak bears truth.

I find comfort in waiting for the next announcement patiently.

As a member of Team Hmm myself, I share the sentiment. Chances are the banner might be a beta version of the final one, with the kinks in the background not having been worked out yet.

I have to say though, even if it is related to that I think it says a lot for their chances of getting into Smash.

If true clearly Nintendo and Microsoft are willing to work together. (although I feel that's already something we know with how chummy they were with crossplay)

Whoa. For real?! Damn. I know their games were up on Nintendo’s UK site, but that’s been there apparently for the past few years. If that’s legit... this might be it. Mannnn, I hope the banner leak is legit. Everyone wins if it’s true. Everything’s adding up.

If Banjo & Kazooie are in Smash Bros., I'd expect the original two games on an N64 mini, and would halfway expect a new game.

YAAAAASSSSSS HYPE!!! I will personally make a reaction video to any direct etc. even tho I have no youtube videos.
I will take my youtube account record my face with my phone and edit it in if I have to.

I REALLY want this to mean something, I will flip out more than without the leak just because I have more built up anticipation and energy to be released instead of a "ohh that just happened" shock. But man, ohh man I would love it for this to be a thing.

My thoughts if nintendo puts Banjo in smash (even tho I'm already buying it)

I will say that it was renewed within the same month as Mach Rider, Golden Sun, and Rhythm Heaven however. There's also nothing saying anything about partnerships, but it's still possible Nintendo partnered with them.

It's not devil's advocate. It's a fact. Rare is the current trademark holder of Banjo.

If Banjo does wind up being in, I really do hope that the trailer is tongue in cheek. For example, I want Kazooie to be a smartass and have banter about Nintendo selling Rare to Microsoft or have Nintendo characters have dialogue like in the Banjo Kazooie games like Link with his signature yells or Mario and his "wahoos."

Not just them. The Chorus Kids also seem to be reacting to the butterfly that Villager is chasing.

It looks like they're holding each other back in fear.

Not to say a fake leaker couldn't do all this but it's still extraordinary attention the detail.

(I find it a bit strange that they'd take Villager chasing the butterfly as a cue for a characters reaction though, I mean the Ice Climbers are right there hammering down on nothing)

Man, I just picked up Minecraft about a week ago and have been having the time of my life, seeing it used as some kind of symbol for evil in the eyes of Smash fans is really bumming me out. Keep in mind Banjo is my number one most Wanted character at the moment. and I'm not particularly keen on the idea of Minecraft in Smash at least not over banjo. But I hate seeing this thing that I love being used to torment people.

Despite this, I hate not having Rayman, Tails, Dixie Kong, and Skullkid. Would love to have any of them over Mach Rider for example.
