I don't think it was Vergebin, but someone who supported Steve on Minecraft called somebody an autistic ****** (probably not someone autistic either, mind you, but still), and that just doesn't sit right with me personally lol. I know it's just a word, but my twin sister has autism and it never really sat right with me when people use that word so casually and especially as an insult towards autistic people.

Either way, the Golden Sun leak is interesting! Does anyone think that seems legit the Psynergy item possibly being a boon towards the Grinch banner leak being real?

I didn't say Shantae should be in because she is an icon, but because the character is very close to Nintendo that she is practically Nintendo similar to Bayonetta and Simon. Bayonetta is not very iconic either, but
she is in Smash because her series is tied to Nintendo now.

Rayman has games on Nintendo, but as I said Rayman isn't a character people associate with Nintendo or any console. Not trying to attack Rayman fans or saying who shouldn't be in.

I know I like to derail threads defend characters that I feel have a good reason to be in, but I have also done it with Banjo in other threads.

Also you said there isn't many gaming legends left. Oh yeah there is one, and if this leak is true, it just opened the door to him.


That it is the only thing that disspoints me a little bit. I love Smash reaction videos and would love to see how people would react to Banjo in Smash. It wont be as fun watching them as people wont be as shocked.

Her first game was the only Nintendo exclusive in her series and then went multiplatform afterwards and her debut game came at the end of GBC lifespan and couldn't even get a release on the new GBA at the time , Plus it sold poorly and was just another cartoon platformer release that were a dime a dozen in the sea of many other games for GBC and consoles during the 90's and early 2000's, She may have been on Nintendo consoles, But that's the thing, that's all she has going for her and you can say that for many other companies games and characters.

I personally never liked the fact that Bayonetta got in Smash, She's the only 3rd Party Charactaer that wasn't a big name or had the legacy to earn a spot in Smash and had only one game on Xbox 360/PS3 that wasn't really big, But I guess Sakurai just wanted her and Nintendo has been working more with Platinum games in recent years.

Rayman may have not been that big with Nintendo back then, But in recent years the franchise has really got a push on Nintendo consoles with Origins on the Wii and Legends which was at one point going to be Wii U exclusive and had Mario & Luigi costumes for Rayman and his sidekick, Ubisoft has been collaborating with 1st Party exclusive content for Nintendo with Mario, Donkey Kong and Star Fox, Rayman even had a 3D trophy model in Smash Wii U which has gotta mean something.

There really aren't many big name characters left to add and if you mean Banjo-Kazooie by the leak you mentioned, Then I strongly agree, He's the biggest name in that leak and has strong Nintendo legacy as an Ex 2nd Party Character and I hope it's true because he's my most wanted newcomer for Smash.

I must be making sense or saying something right because I got 6 other people liking and agreeing with me in my previous post.

I don't even need to be told, you can kinda tell by a lot of people's language and their crazy obsessions. It's all good though, that it can foster a pretty "passionate" community of fans, the past 48 hours have certainly been passion fueled. I think latching onto brands, video games, and characters is something a lot of people with mental issues do, probably 1 reason why Smash makes people go so crazy is because its all those things in such a way it makes us euphorically happy and engaged. I'll be mental for Banjo-Kazooie all day long though

And agreed, if this leak is true and that direct comes out with Banjo & Kazooie confirmed to be in, I'll be ecstatic til the end of time.

It really is a powerful thing, something as silly as a video game, but one so full of love and passion for video gaming can help us cope with our mental issues and disorders.

I don't see how using it as an insult towards genuinely autistic people makes a difference. Using it as an insult at all is insulting the condition and, by extension, those with it. Who the insult is aimed at isn't all that important, IMO.

Apparently it's a common thing on 4-Chan. They're not exactly the most likeable bunch but somehow one of them has infiltrated my friendship circle all the same. I've only had to pick him up on it once so far...

That has got to be the single nicest and most sincere fanart for Smash Incineroar I've ever seen.

Edit: Anybody else getting a Dark Knight vibe from this? I don't actually hate Incineroar, and honestly the thought of a wrestler heel in Smash is hilarious to me, I don't even hate Steve all that much but damn is that picture just asking for this:

Hey guys, I've been really only sticking to the Dixie support thread as she is a character I really do think deserves to be in Smash and that I just personally want to see get in, but Banjo getting into this game really would be a dream come true and would make this game truly Ultimate for me. Now, as far as the Grinch leak goes, I've lost quite a bit of faith in it.

Artsy Omni recently hosted a livestream getting into detail as to why the 'leak' is more than likely a fake. You may disagree, but all of these discrepancies in the background really make it hard for me to believe this leak is legitimate. That being said, this doesn't mean Banjo couldn't still be in the game. Nintendo and Microsoft are surely both aware of the fan demand, and after all the recent cross promotions, friendliness between the two companies, and Phil Spencer's public support for the idea before Ultimate was even revealed, now seems like the perfect time for Banjo to get in. Leak or no leak, I still think he has great shot.

The background provably changed with the addition of new characters since E3... This actually means nothing.

I think also the website and the E3 treehouse have differences too. Considering it seems like there is a certain built it again from scratch, copy and paste these image files together approach, the background have slight variations is possible. Also if it were to be a fake, with the amount of research needed, surely the background art would have been looked intonas well.

Again, the 'leak" is missing details that have been present in every banner background up until now, including the most up to date one on the website. Could it have changed? Sure. But why would they remove details to actively make it worse? It just doesn't add up. I'd highly suggest watching the video I linked, it explains it much better than I can. I hope you guys understand where I'm coming from here, I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade, I just don't want anyone to be too disappointed if this leak turns out to be fake, which it seems like it may be. We won’t know anything conclusively until we see one or more newcomers revealed and their spots on the banner match with their final spots on the official reveal. However I am leaning more towards team real, matching the current banner with Isabelle and the leaked one, there are too many details I’ve noticed that match up with changes the banner has gone through in the past. The Mii Gunner in particular is currently separated from the other Miis for some reason in the spot that, according to this leak, will presumably be where Banjo & Kazooie will end up being while she gets reunited with the other Mii Fighters. She was also a place holder beneath the Mii Brawler & Swordfighter back before the 8/8/18 direct where she held the spot Simon Belmont currently has. And in the current banner, the Mii Brawler and Swordfighter are to the left of Link, in the leak banner Shadow takes that spot and the entire Mii Fighter trio have been entirely moved over to next to inbetween Mewtwo and King K. Rool where Luigi and R.O.B. currently are, and consequently Luigi & R.O.B. have been further moved over to where Sheik and Falco are on the current banner. That can’t be coincidence. Not to mention all the other little details for characters previously mentioned like Issac having grass growing beneath him and a djinn, and the Chorus Kids having their conductor with them, which I never thought of before but is an amazing idea for them, having their conductor coordinate their moves similar to Pokémon Trainer as a background character. That kinda detail is something only someone like Sakurai could come up with. But as I’ve said before, I’ll hold my breath until we get an official reveal confirming or disconfirming the leak.

Whether this leak turns out to be fake or true (Hopefully true and my gut is telling me it's real, But kinda sucks that it got spoiled) It was the perfect distraction to tide us over into November when we are bound to get our Smash Direct during this info drought that has been driving everyone insane, This is going to go down as one of the greatest if not the greatest leak conspiracy in Smash and video game history.

What makes it even more ridiculously hilarious is that how something unrelated like the Grinch movie is dragged into all this just makes it too funny and perfect and has infamously got the name " The Grinch Leak".
Even people on the internet trying to avoid Smash spoilers are going "What the hell does the Grinch have to do with Ultimate?

In a few years It's going to be funny to look back at how this really blew up the Smash community and the internet.
